[Bug 384347] Re: _netdev not working
Just discovered this gem trying to mount a Ceph RBD device on boot. To add insult to injury, this is on a normally headless server, which is in a difficult spot to get a keyboard and monitor to. A server that requires me to be physically present to press a S key (and also as a side-effect, *doesn't* mount volumes that it needs) is completely useless to me. I need this server to boot automatically, without intervention. If it's going to need hand-holding, save yourselves the effort and make the next release of Ubuntu symlink /sbin/init to /bin/bash and we'll do it ourselves! Okay… rant over, I needed to get that out of my system. The system in question is running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS AMD64, installed yesterday via PXE. According to /etc/lsb-release, it's release 12.04.4. I have in my /etc/fstab: /dev/rbd/pool-name/name-of-rbd /local/mountpoint xfs defaults,_netdev 0 0 rbdmap service is configured and set to start at boot. Indeed, when the machine does boot up, `mount -a` successfully mounts the RBD. However, I need to do this *before* starting services. Doing so after logging in is shutting the stable doors long after the horse has bolted. I need it to do this the moment networking is up. I see I'm not the only one a bit miffed by this situation: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2131380 http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2135891 The former of those threads mentions a kludge. [Bug 1282384] [NEW] osmosis can't handle 64-bit way identifiers
Public bug reported: I am unable to use osmosis 0.40.1+ds1-7 to convert an XML export from the OpenStreetMap site which I downloaded today. The download includes some nodes (points) which have identifiers that cannot be represented as 32-bit integers. This has been an issue for just over a year (since February 2013) when node identifiers in the OpenStreetMap database began to exceed 2^31 − 1. http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/64-bit_Identifiers To reproduce 1. Use a web browser to go to http://www.openstreetmap.org 2. Zoom into a relatively small area (perhaps about 1 mile across, for instance) which includes ways/nodes edited since February 2013, and click the Export button. (This is the area I used: http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=16/44.9483/-93.0928 ) 3. Save the downloaded file. 4. Run osmosis --read-xml file=map.osm --used-node --write-xml file=out.xml (where map.osm is the file you downloaded and out.xml is an arbitrary output filename). When I run the command, I see the following messages: Feb 19, 2014 10:58:34 PM org.openstreetmap.osmosis.core.Osmosis run INFO: Osmosis Version 0.40.1 Feb 19, 2014 10:58:34 PM org.openstreetmap.osmosis.core.Osmosis run INFO: Preparing pipeline. This is what I did: - Installed ibus-hangul (actually it's installed automatically if you install Korean from Language Support, so you shouldn't need to install it explicitly). - Logged out and logged in again. - Added Korean Hangul via Text Entry. - Clicked the input source indicator and switched to Hangul. With that I could enter some funny (supposedly Korean) characters. ;-) * Super+Space seems broken, as it doesn't even change the keyboard input method. Yes, it's broken. Currently you can make it work by changing to something else and then back to Super+Space. But that's not good enough. I have been told it will be fixed, and it really should be. Otherwise they should change to some default that works (e.g. Ctrl+Shift L). At least for the Asian user, IBus works far better and is more practical. This is not about using Text Entry *or* IBus. Text Entry makes use of IBus behind the scenes. Some people dislike the 13.10 and 14.04 implementation of keyboard layouts and input methods. But from a docs writing POV that's irrelevant. 14.04, which is a LTS, will be shipped with the Text Entry GUI, so we should try to fix the docs accordingly. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1282364 Title: Add IBus input methods information to keyboard-layouts To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-docs/+bug/1282364/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1282392] [NEW] nothing listens to keyringError signal
Public bug reported: several places in keyring.cpp emit keyringError, which is not listened to by ssoservice. It should be listened to and forwarded as an error to the client of ssoservice. [Bug 1282392] Re: nothing listens to keyringError signal
I have no idea how to reproduce the actual error it got, since I don't know what caused it. I did get a notification bubble warning me that applications might not be able to access my UOA accounts, but that wasn't very helpful. Also, it was intermittent - when I restarted the scope and tried again, it worked. So, I think that just surfacing errors in keyring and making sure you can start over cleanly is the best we can do here. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1282392 Title: nothing listens to keyringError signal To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntuone-credentials/+bug/1282392/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

There is dh_install, but I need to rename the desktop file and the icon, and there is now way to do so otherwise. It's now on A07, 09/04/2013 Verified with 3.5.0-46, the wireless key still not working. [Bug 995645] Re: udevd: timeout: killing 'watershed sh -c '/sbin/lvm vgscan; /sbin/lvm vgchange -a y''
I have pretty much the same problem. Once a snapshot is on the volume, the system fails to boot. the problem is exactly as described here: http://www.redhat.com/archives /linux-lvm/2012-February/msg00028.html and the people on the mailing list suggest broken udev rules. fstab is pretty normal: # file system mount point type options dump pass proc/proc procnodev, noexec, nosuid 0 0 /dev/mapper/helpc--13-system / btrfs defaults,subvol=@,compress,discard,space_cache,inode_cache 0 1 # /boot was on /dev/sdb2 during installation UUID=084c2f84-902f-4fa9-aadd-e7c4e19cd6bb /boot ext3defaults 0 2 /dev/mapper/helpc--13-system /home btrfs defaults,subvol=@home,compress,discard,space_cache,inode_cache 0 2 /dev/mapper/helpc--13-swap noneswapsw 0 0 /dev/mapper/bigstor-vms /home/hel/vms ext4defaults0 2 /dev/mapper/bigstor-archive /home/hel/archive ext4 defaults 0 2 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/995645 Title: udevd: timeout: killing 'watershed sh -c '/sbin/lvm vgscan; /sbin/lvm vgchange -a y'' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lvm2/+bug/995645/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 221112]
For some reason, I found myself using the 'fr oss' layout in Gnome 3.10. And I must say that finding out that this layout was picked as the default left me speechless: two keys on my keyboard no longer behave according to what's *on* the actual key: - the right control key, which just says Ctrl, just like its left counterpart, - and the keypad's del/dot key which has an actual dot on it, not a comma Both of those changes are incomprehensible. Whether *alternative* layouts exist to provide new mappings is of no issue to me. But a layout touted as the default layout should respect what's *engraved* on keyboards. FTR, the original 'fr' layout also has that keypad dot/comma issue but not the right control mapped to Level5, but at least there's an kpdl:dot option to fix the former. So I fumbled through Gnome's ever- changing control panel and managed to change back to it. (In reply to comment #46) For me it does. My keyboard has an Alt Gr label on the AltR key, so it indeed is expected to behave differently from Alt_L, but my ControlR key is labeled as Ctrl, just like the ControlL key. And all other keyboards and OSes I ever used did handle ControlR the same as ControlL, as far as I was concerned as a user. +1, all the French PC keyboards I have owned for the past 15 years have been like this. I can only add my voice to let it be known that having to fix my keyboard layout for correct operation was quite upsetting. Anyhow, thanks to all for looking into it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/221112 Title: Can't use space bar in search bar when using french alternative keyboard To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/libgnomekbd/+bug/221112/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
