[Bug 232096] [NEW] libnotify bubble background color incompletely changed
Public bug reported: Changing the tooltip background color and text color (customize theme in appearance preferences) changes the color in libnotify notification bubbles, but only on the right side. This can lead to some ugly notifications in the case of themes like the one I'm using. It seems the best thing to do would be to change the entire background color to the selected tooltip color. If is this isnt desirable for some reason, changing tooltip color settings should just have no effect, so the default appearance always appears. [Bug 119730] Re: Slow SATA performance
I have this same problem, though it definitely seems to be complicated. Copying large files (2GB) from one SATA drive to another, or to another location on the same drive pretty much seems to always cause slow speeds (and i mean like 3Mb/sec, it can take 20-30 mins to copy a 4gig file, its seriously faster to burn the same file). Copying a say, 700MB file between the same two drives is reasonably fast (~30mb/sec). I have a mix of NTFS and reiserfs drives, but it doesnt seem to matter which are the source and target drives. For what its worth, I had the same problem in gentoo, and 32 vs 64-bit doesnt seem to matter either. I'm fairly sure this is a kernel bug, possibly related to specific motherboards or chipset (i'm using the onboard SATA of my nforce4 board). I dont have any of the obvious problems mentioned earlier like disabled write cache or no DMA modes enabled, hdparm gives me a 72MB/s reads (is there a way to test writes?). It's frustrating to know that I have drives capable of 50+MB/sec, and dont seem to have a problem getting those speeds in windows, and can only get half that in linux at best. Anyone with any insight would be much appreciated. -- Slow SATA performance https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/119730 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 195422] Re: hardy heron 8.04 alpha 5 - flash not installed correctly
This is actually a problem with nspluginwrapper as far as I can tell (at least for those of us on 64bit). The flash plugin postinstall script correctly installs to the xulrunner-plugins directory, unless it detects you are using nspluginwrapper. Unfortunatly, nspluginwrapper only seems to install to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins and /usr/lib/firefox/plugins/ and not /usr/lib/xulrunner-addons/plugins/ which is where plugins need to be for firefox 3. I'm trying to wrap my head around how to get it to do the right thing, but I'm not a developer, so its a little over my head. ** Also affects: nspluginwrapper (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- hardy heron 8.04 alpha 5 - flash not installed correctly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/195422 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 190848] Re: font in terminal does not resemble font in preview
Works as expected for me in gnome-terminal 2.21.91.1-0ubuntu1. [Bug 198225] Re: nvidia graphics don't work on hardy alpha 5
Could you post your /etc/X11/xorg.conf and /var/log/Xorg.0.log ? The chipset is supported, and it should work with the nvidia-glx-new driver. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- nvidia graphics don't work on hardy alpha 5 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/198225 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 198225] Re: nvidia graphics don't work on hardy alpha 5
I know you said neither open nor proprietary drivers work, but have you tried manually changing the driver in the xorg.conf to nvidia? Change both lines that say Driver nv to Driver nvidia. (There are two, because i'm guessing you have two monitors). -- nvidia graphics don't work on hardy alpha 5 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/198225 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 182300] Re: Automatic codec installation for MPEG-4 AAC audio doesn't occur
I'm having the same problem with rhythmbox. Everytime I launch it says codecs are needed to play back some file, but upon launching gnome- codec-install, it says there is no suitable plugin available. Rythmbox terminal output as follows: Rhythmbox-Message: Missing plugin: gstreamer|0.10|rhythmbox-metadata|MPEG-4 AAC decoder|decoder-audio/mpeg, mpegversion=(int)4, framed=(boolean)true (ignoring) Rhythmbox-Message: All missing plugins are blacklisted, doing nothing This is pretty annoying, though as original reporter noted, installing gstreamer-0.10-plugins-bad manually fixes the problem. Bug seen in hardy, rhythmbox-0.11.4-0ubuntu6, gnome-app- install-0.5.2.4-0ubuntu1. ** Changed in: gnome-app-install (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- Automatic codec installation for MPEG-4 AAC audio doesn't occur https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/182300 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 197894] [NEW] menu color does not match panel color in human-murrine
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: human-theme With the new human-murrine theme engine enabled, the color behind the main menus is different than the rest of the panel, which looks very odd. [Bug 195072] Re: [Hardy alpha 5] Firefox 3 beta 3 go back UI is wrong
Not a bug. This is the new design, combining back and forward histories into one single history. See http://mozillalinks.org/wp/2008/02/a-deep-look-to-firefox-3-beta-3/ The back and forward buttons have been combined in a single keyhole-shaped widget featuring a single history menu. ** Changed in: firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- [Hardy alpha 5] Firefox 3 beta 3 go back UI is wrong https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/195072 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 195228] Re: [hardy alpha 5] Totem YouTube browser can't be activated
The youtube totem plugin requires python-gdata, which is not installed by default. Installing the package resolves this problem.
