[Bug 794923] [NEW] Kubuntu network module doesn't allow writing an IPv6 DNS server
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager Not sure if this issue is related to NetworkManager package. I thin it's more related to Kubuntu network settings. I click in network settings icon in the systray, open my WiFi configuration and try to set a IPv6 (i.e: 2620:0:ccc::2) as DNS nameserver. The text box doesn't allow it to me as it seems to validate the input against an IPv4 regular expression. Neither writing an IPv6 referece (this is: [2620:0:ccc::2]) does the work. So honestly I don't know if it's an artificial limitation in KDE network module, or maybe it relies on NetworkManager itself which doesn't support an IPv6 as DNS nameserver. [Bug 786882] [NEW] plasma-widget-networkmanagement
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg After pressing (maybe by error) the hardware WiFi button in my laptop (so I get rtl8192: wireless radio switch turned off in syslog), I cannot reconnect my WiFi again. The available WiFi networks are not showed anymore. This does not occur always however, but many times. Also, due to some other Xorg related problem, sometimes my X session is restarted (or it's stopped so I run /etc/init.d/kdm restart and get it again). In these cases, I can never connect again to my WiFi. NetworkManager plasma widget seems not to detect the WiFi networks. Restarting network-manager and/or avahi-daemon doesn't not fix it. I don't know if a problem related to the plasma wigdet or to network- manager. These problems just occur ater upgrading to Kubuntu 11.04. Please help me providing useful information. Thanks. [Bug 786889] [NEW] Xorg is restarted sometimes after upgrading to Kubuntu 11.04
Public bug reported: Since the upgrade to Kubuntu 11.04 the X session is sometimes restarted (I assume due to some crash somewhere). Thanks. This was a random crash that occurred using deluge. It has been a persistent problem which has been occurring during the transfer of a 80gig+ torrent. [Bug 414840] Re: console-kit-daemon consumes lot of CPU and disk writting after closing the laptop screen
Disabling screen powersave solves nothing, the error occurs. This is: after closing the laptop cover *for a while* (it's not enough with closing it during some seconds) the uptime command show a load average of ~5.00 and there are ~2000K of writing operations to disk. [Bug 414840] [NEW] console-kit-daemon consumes lot of CPU and disk writting after closing the laptop screen
Public bug reported: - Kubuntu Jaunty 64 bits. - AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-52. - ASUS A6TC laptop. This issue occurs for long time in my laptop (after installing Kubuntu with KDE4): After closing and re-opening my laptop screen (even if it's connected to the power) console-kit-daemon and hald process consume a lot of CPU. Also, there is something performing a lot of disk writting operations (dstat shows ~2000K) and running echo -n 1 /proc/sys/vm/block_dump shows some writting operations by hald and console-kit-daemon. If then I open Power management - Capabilities then I see an error in ConsoleKit Runtime Support with a reason PowerDevil couldn't contact console-kit-daemon This doesn't occur before closing the screen (all is correct and the above doesn't occur). In performance mode the laptop is not suspended to RAM or hibernated at all, but I had an option Allow PowerDevil to manage the screen powersave. Now I've disabled it to test what happens. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: powersave -- console-kit-daemon consumes lot of CPU and disk writting after closing the laptop screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/414840 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 400889] [NEW] Keyboard gets crazy often and behaves as if Ctrl, Alt, AltGr or Caps is pressed
Public bug reported: Since I upgraded to KDE 4.2.96 (KDE 4.3 RC2) in my Kubuntu Jaunty 64 bits, the system is *unusable*: the keyboard behaves, very often, as if the key Ctrl, Alt, AltGr or Caps is pressed (so if I want to write a then A is written, or perhaps Ctrl+A action is performed, or Alt+A). Really annoying. The problem takes some seconds and magically dissapears. It's not a problem in my keyboard since it occurs using the laptop keyboard and also with two USB keyboards I've tryed. It's not also a Kernel issue (2.6.28-11-generic) since it occurs also if I start the system with an older kernel (2.6.27-11-generic) running previously. It also occurs in no-KDE applications so it's not just a KDE problem. Basically it occurs *always* (perhaps one time each 15 minutes). It occurs without the need of pressing those keys before, for example: I'm composing a mail and want to write hello world. I write hello w and when I press o it appears as O (or Ctrl+O action is performed if it exists...). It didn't occur before the last upgrade (~1 week ago). Sorry, the WAV slider does work. The problem is that Kubuntu Jaunty uses PulseAudio (so Phonon uses it if I'm correct) and System Settings - Multimedia section had (default value) the sound card with higher priority than PulseAudio device. [Bug 355873] [NEW] wav alsa mixer not working in nvidia sound card MCP51
Public bug reported: In my ASUS laptop I've an nVidia sound card: 00:10.1 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP51 High Definition Audio (rev a2) This worked well in Kubuntu Hardy 32 bits. When moving the wav slider in alsamixer or kmix the WAV volume was modified according to the new value. Now I've installed Kubuntu Jaunty 64 bits and the wav slider doesn't work anymore. Changing it value doesn't affect at all to the volumen. Also, the Master audio section has no slider, but just a mute checkbox. In both SO's (Kubuntu Hardy 32 bits and Jaunty 64 bits) the Line slider works wrongly: changing it value produces an unexpected change in the global volume, but this change doesn't correspond to the slider value. This is, setting the Line slider more than 50% produces the global audio to dissapear. More info: Kubuntu Jaunty 9.04 (development branch) KDE 4.2.2 Kernel 2.6.28-11-generic alsa-base 1.0.18.dfsg-1ubuntu7 alsa-utils 1.0.18-1ubuntu10 bluez-alsa 4.32-0ubuntu4 libesd-alsa0 0.2.40-0ubuntu3 libsdl1.2debian-alsa 1.2.13-4ubuntu3 ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- wav alsa mixer not working in nvidia sound card MCP51 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/355873 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
