Public bug reported: On US keyboards, the "+" (plus) key is in shifted position, and the "-" (minus) is not. [Bug 1623147] [NEW] A "JEDIT" icon overlays the "X" icon on whatever other package is active.
Public bug reported: 1. Start JEDIT 2. Start any other application. Whatever application happens to be positioned in the left hand upper corner of the screen (i.e. second line, under the "task" bar) will have it's close icon (the "X") overlaid by a JEDIT icon, preventing you from closing the second application. This "JE" icon background is a "light gray" with the standard orange "JE". In the task bar, there are several other "JEDIT" icons, all colored the same - orange "JE" on a black background, one each for the internal JEDIT processes currently active. There does not appear to be any useful function provided by this icon, as clicking on it does nothing. - - - I am running UBUNTU 16.04.1 with GNOME 3.20 JEDIT 5.3.0 JAVA 1.8.0_91 the following JEDIT plugins are available, but are not active (ie. "loaded") BufferTabs 1.2.4 Character Map 1.3.3 Column Ruler 1.0.5 Common Controls 1.7.4 JDIFF Plugin 3.3.0 - - - I also have two monitors on a single NVIDIA card. It does not matter on which screen JEDIT is started, nor does it matter if the JEDIT window is moved to the other screen. This jedit icon is always positioned at the start of line 2 on the primary monitor, and it ALWAYS overlays the exit icon of any screen positioned there. To close the secondary application, it is necessary to move the window down or to the right so that the "X" icon is displayed. You can then click on it to close the second application. Clicking on this "extra" JEDIT icon does nothing... This is NOT a misplaced JEDIT application icon for any of JEDIT's internal processes, as each of those has its own "JE" icon in the upper "task" bar, all of which properly identify themselves with a mouse-over. - - - I am using JEDIT as my primary text editor, because GEDIT cannot be resized by grabbing one of the edges or corners, and because the work enhancing icons previously available in the now missing toolbar have been changed to menus and submenus coupled with right and left clicks and... The modifications made to GEDIT are now causing extreme slowdowns in the work that I do with my computer. - - - ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 Package: openjdk-8-jre-headless 8u91-b14-3ubuntu1~16.04.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-36.55-generic 4.4.16 Uname: Linux 4.4.0-36-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia_uvm nvidia_drm nvidia_modeset nvidia ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.1 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: GNOME Date: Tue Sep 13 13:49:48 2016 ExecutablePath: /usr/lib/jvm/java-8-openjdk-amd64/jre/bin/java InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-05-11 (856 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS "Trusty Tahr" - Release amd64 (20140417) ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_US:en PATH=(custom, user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: openjdk-8 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: openjdk-8 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug xenial -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1623147 Title: A "JEDIT" icon overlays the "X" icon on whatever other package is active. [Bug 1616509] [NEW] notification with screen locked shows undesireable results on tablet
Public bug reported: running rc-proposed on m10 tablet, have security setup for passcode. The problem is whenever my screen is locked and I get a notification (i.e. new gmail message), the screen turns on and I see the OSK taking up half of the screen and the password field focus. This is really distracting and looks bad, as I'm not trying to login. Would be better to just show the notification with no osk. Seems an easy fix would be to make sure the passcode field is not focused when the screen is locked (or turned on) which would make the osk not appear. ** Affects: canonical-devices-system-image Importance: High Assignee: kevin gunn (kgunn72) Status: New ** Affects: unity-greeter (Ubuntu) Importance: High Assignee: Michał Sawicz (saviq) Status: New ** Also affects: canonical-devices-system-image Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: unity-greeter (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Michał Sawicz (saviq) ** Changed in: canonical-devices-system-image Assignee: (unassigned) => kevin gunn (kgunn72) ** Changed in: unity-greeter (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: canonical-devices-system-image Importance: Undecided => High -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1616509 Title: notification with screen locked shows undesireable results on tablet To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1616509/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: was running ubuntu 14.04.1, with gnome (cinnamon installed over gnome about year and half ago) graphics card is Nvidia Corp GF108 [GeForce GT620] rev a1 with the nvidia 304 driver Responded to upgrade manager prompt to upgrade to ubuntu 16/04.1 After checking found that most folks with Nvidia problems had them in June/July 2016, so figured problems had been resolved. (Boy, was I wrong!) Have spent the the last 5-days 8-10 hours a day, trying to recover from this badly packaged upgrade. It took two days to get "past" the inability to logon at all, and was finally able to make use of ctl- alt-F3 to get a terminal session during the logon loop problem of lightdm and Nvidia video drivers after trying damn near every NVIDIA video driver since 304. This was done using ppa:graphics-drivers and always doing a "sudo apt- get-purge nvida-*" before the "sudo apt-get install nvidia-xxx". Initially I tried nvidia-367 and it did not work. Eventually, however, the nvidia 367.35 did work with gdm3, but not with lightdm. I do not understand why Nemo is "not installed" as that was the software package that I used the most (other then "apt-get" and "dpkg") during my tty debugging sessions, once I could actually establish a tty session. Amongst many other changes that was made while trying to resolve the entire upgrade to Ubuntu 16.04.1 Gnome, was that I installed cinnamon 3 and then uninstalled it... ...this eliminated a lot of wierd error messages. (Sorry, don't remember what they were.) Eventually I installed gnome 3.20 using its special ppa and when that did not work, I did a new install of "gnome" and "gnome-shell". After I did yet another "sudo dpkg-reconfigure gdm3" and for the first time in 5-days I was able to logon with a Graphics Manager. Upon login, I received a message that the "nemo 2.8.6-2" installation had failed, and thus this ticket... If anybody wants to try and figure out what the original root cause for the ubuntu 16.04.1 gnome installation failure really was, please list what command output and or logs you would like to see and I will be glad to attach them to this ticket. While I am knowledgable and comfortable with Linux, I am not an expert. [Bug 1603508] [NEW] filter requesting app from peer picker list if same app
Public bug reported: Peer picker should never display an app that is requesting a content-hub operation (say export) in the list of apps that can import. For example, code has been added to Filemanager to register as a destination for many of the supported types. [Bug 1580500] Re: No way to share calendar invites/events with calendar-app
I think a few things would need to happen on the content-hub and calendar side first 1) content-hub would need to add a new type ContentHub.Calendar (until proper mime-type support lands in content-hub). See https://developer.ubuntu.com/api/apps/qml/sdk-15.04.4/Ubuntu.Content.ContentType/ 2) Calendar app would register as content-hub destination for this content-type 3) Calendar app needs implement a content-hub importer for text/calendar files that would be invoked by content-hub operation. [Bug 1375889] Re: reply to message in gmail shows garbled reply view
Testing with silo 68 which contains the UA override. I first delete any cache files in .local/share/webbrowser-app and gmail webapp, then launch the browser or gmail webapp. The override works most of the time (you can tell if you see the black "Updated" footer on the main gmail screen when press the refresh button, or when replying to a mail if the original message is formatted correctly.) Try to close the app and restart it. Do this multiple times and frequently gmail is rendered without the override as you don't see the footer and reply messages are not formatted. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1375889 Title: reply to message in gmail shows garbled reply view To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1375889/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
