[Bug 1970898] Re: unable to use nfs client to mount nfs in Ubuntu 22.04
I was also unable to use NFS mounts since upgrading my client to 22.04. My server is a QNAP running version 5.0.0.1986. Enabling NFSv4 on the server did not solve the issue. Hmm, it works across reboots for me, without adding anything to /etc/rc.local. I am back on Ubuntu 10.04 though. One thought is that perhaps you need to update your initramfs to make your config change apply to the module which is loaded during boot. [Bug 591033] Re: failure to resume after suspending for the second time (Dell Latitude E6510)
In my original report I said that short suspend periods were okay, but longer periods could not be resumed from. I think what is actually the case is that the first resume works okay, but the second time you try to resume, the machine fails to resume (and then reboots). The duration of time for which the machine is suspended does not actually seem to be part of the issue. Anyway, the good news is that this appears to be fixed in 2.6.35-020635rc1-generic. It does not appear to be fixed in 2.6.34-020634 (couldn't even resume once), or 2.6.33-02063305. ** Summary changed: - failure to resume after suspending overnight (Dell Latitude E6510) + failure to resume after suspending for the second time (Dell Latitude E6510) ** Tags removed: needs-upstream-testing ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = New -- failure to resume after suspending for the second time (Dell Latitude E6510) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/591033 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Sebastien, I cannot reproduce this anymore, so I'll mark it as fixed. This is with gvfs 1.2.1-0ubuntu1. It seems that this line: merge key=input.x11_options.ButtonMapping type=string1 8 3 2 9/merge in my HAL policy file was the cause of the problem. [Bug 155735] gamma setting is lost after suspend/resume
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati I run a script which uses the new xrandr features to setup my video outputs depending on whether or not my iBook (with a Radeon 9200) has an external monitor connected. As part of this process, the script will run xgamma -gamma 0.65 to make the picture look better on my external display. On resume from sleep, it seems that the output is reverted to a gamma of 1.0. Nope, this bug still exists in gutsy. Timo, do you know what part of X could be causing this? I'm just not sure that the radeon driver is the best package to own this bug. On these iBook/Powerbook systems, the backlight is controlled via the PMU. This bug might be better resolved if the issue with resume was fixed in hal (which already has code to control the backlight), and the issue with the screensaver was fixed in gnome-screensaver or gnome-power- manager (whichever of these has ultimate responsibility for blanking the screen). ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Confirmed -- Brightness reset to max when starting/restarting Xorg or waking from sleep https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/36956 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 144305] Re: [gutsy] sleep on powerbook crashes
Sleep doesn't work on my iBook G4 either. It used to work in Feisty. One strange thing I've noted is that when the machine goes to sleep, after the LED starts breathing (fading in and out to show the machine is asleep), the LCD backlight turns on. Ben, I haven't been able to get your workaround to work for me yet, but I'll keep fiddling with it a bit more. Problem is there's never really a convenient time to do the kind of stuff which requires constantly crashing/rebooting the computer. :( I think the gnome-power-manager is handling the sleep via hal, which should mean that /usr/lib/hal/hal-system-power-pmu is invoked to use the PMU ioctl to cause sleep. If that's the case, should the APM emulation module still be required? It is loaded on my iBook, but my install is pretty crufty because I've been through many dist-upgrades over the last few years. ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New = Confirmed -- [gutsy] sleep on powerbook crashes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/144305 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 144305] Re: [gutsy] sleep on powerbook crashes
Okay, I'm sure your workaround is the way to go, it's just the implementation which doesn't seem to be the same between my computer and yours. Notes: If I manually switch to vt1 and sleep using /usr/lib/hal/hal-system- power-pmu sleep, it sleeps and resumes fine. Also, if I sleep from X by running pbbcmd sleep, it runs /etc/power/suspend.d/console-switch-out and sleeps and resumes okay, but for some reason /etc/power/resume.d/console-switch-in is not being run and so after wakeup I have to switch back to vt7 by hand. But if I try and sleep just by closing the lid, I get the backlight switching on after it goes to sleep, and the machine dies on resume. Am I correct in thinking that the /etc/power scripts are called from userspace by pbbuttonsd or pmud? So if the PMU ioctl is being called by some other process, those scripts will not necessarily be run? I think it's gnome-power-manager which is handling the lid-close event, and not running the scripts. So I just need to find out where to hook into there to do the vt switch. I suspect it's happening in /usr/lib/hal/scripts/linux/hal-system-power-suspend-linux; if that's the case it should be a piece of cake to fix. -- [gutsy] sleep on powerbook crashes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/144305 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 150092] xrandr and radeon drives BenQ FP231W incorrectly
Public bug reported: Just upgraded to gutsy today. I have a BenQ FP231W connected to my laptop's Radeon 9200. I try to turn off the laptop panel and use only the FP231W: xrandr --output LVDS --off --output VGA-0 --auto This does switch off the laptop panel and enable the external display, but the picture on the external display is offset about 5cm to the right, and so is missing 5cm off the right hand side of the monitor. Looking in the FP231W OSD menu, it shows that the monitor thinks it is being run at 1600x1200, even though the computer thinks it is running at 1920x1200. If I tell xrandr to run at 1600x1200 I get the reverse effect: the computer is acting as though the display is 1600x1200, but the display thinks it is running at 1920x1200, and so the image is stretched horizontally. I have found that I can work around this by injecting the correct modeline/resolution combination into xrandr like so: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ xrandr --newmode native 160.9 1920 1980 2040 2160 1200 1201 1204 1242 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ xrandr --addmode VGA-0 native [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ xrandr --output LVDS --off --output VGA-0 --mode native The strange thing is that the modeline parameters I inject are the same ones which xrandr already seems to have detected. It looks as if the default resolution and timing params are getting scrambled somehow in xrandr or the radeon driver. [Bug 119295] Re: OpenSSH should support VIA PadLock
Unfortunately this doesn't actually work. I run the following test: scp -c aes128-cbc 100meg.test localhost:/dev/null And the throughput is the same with openssh 4.6 as it was with openssh 4.3. [Bug 119295] Re: OpenSSH should support VIA PadLock
The original implementation of --with-ssl-engine doesn't seem to me to do anything at all, because it relies on an ugly re'#define which is not included anywhere it's needed. Even with that included in the appropriate spots, the padlock engine is still not being used. I've attached a works for me kind of patch. It adds the necessary includes so that --with-ssl-engine actually does something, and it also explicitly sets the padlock engine as the preferred cipher provider. Now I can get throughput of 13.6MB/s when performing the above scp test. ** Attachment added: openssh-padlock.diff http://launchpadlibrarian.net/8330990/openssh-padlock.diff -- OpenSSH should support VIA PadLock https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/119295 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 826] Re: -w option for stdout output doesn't work
Btw, the -w option seems to work for me. I use it with slimserver to convert m4a to flac for streaming to a sqeezebox like so. I have the following line in my slimserver config to get flac on stdout. [faad] -w -d -s 44100 -f2 $FILE$ | [flac] -cs --fast --endian=little --channels=2 --bps=16 --sample-rate=44100 --sign=signed - This mostly works for me on my PPC box.
