[Bug 345625] Re: [Dell Inc. Inspiron 6000] suspend/resume failure

2009-07-24 Thread Majkijin
OK I will check suspension on Karmic next week. You're asking to open
new more specific bug report. I opened this bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/358357 few months
ago which describes in more details what is happening on Intrepid. I
tried to follow the kernel team bug policies while doing that report.

[Bug 369428] Re: Can not enable indexing

2009-07-09 Thread Majkijin
Yes it appears when I'm logged as new user and tracker works fine then.
Under /etc/xdg/autostart I have appropriate desktop files for tracker.
Can you tell me how can I make entries for tracker to appear in Startup
Applications on my old account?

[Bug 369428] [NEW] Can not enable indexing

2009-04-29 Thread Majkijin
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: tracker

I can't enable indexing by checking Enable indexing in Tracker
Preferences dialogue. When I click the apply button it says that
trackerd needs to be restarted, but neither before clicking nor after
clicking the apply button trackerd is not running (ps -A command
doesn't show trackerd). When I try to search something with tracker-
search-tool it says that Could not connect to search service as it may
be busy.

[Bug 358357] [NEW] Dell Inspiron 6000 fails to resume

2009-04-09 Thread Majkijin
Public bug reported:

I'm not sure but this bug might be a duplicate of #345625.

Here is what is happening:
I make my machine to suspend either by closing the lid or by pressing Stand
by key or choosing Suspend from Shut down menu. It always go to sleep
properly what can be seen by slowly oscillating power diode (this is how my
machine indicates that it's in sleep mode). The problem appears when I want to
resume my machine and it seems to depend on A/C adapter state. When the A/C
adaptor is detached while suspending machine and stays detached till resume,
all resumes I had tried were successful. In case of when the suspension and
resumption occur while A/C adaptor is attached, approximately 4 of 5 resumes
fail. When I suspend my machine with A/C adaptor attached and then try to
resume it with A/C adaptor detached 100% resumes fail. This is also true in
opposite situation when suspension is done with A/C detached and resumption
with A/C attached. When resume fails I don't see flashing caps-lock or similar.
Keyboard, touch-pad are not responding and the screen stays black (back-light
of my screen is turned off, it is like after typing the xset dpms force off
command). I think that HDD is turned off because I can't hear noise of its head
falling after hard reset like it can be heard when I do hard reset from
normally working system. Resumption after hibernation works well on my system
in any circumstances. In previous version of Ubuntu - Intrepid - I did not make
any tests but majority of resumes were successful (I think 1 of 10 resumes
failed).

ProblemType: KernelOops
Annotation: This occured during a previous suspend and prevented it from
resuming properly.

Re: [Bug 37227] Re: unnamed imap folder

2008-11-19 Thread Majkijin
max wrote:
 I just tried the following:
 - Deleting the empty unnamed folder (said it couldn't do it)
 - Renaming the empty unnamed folder (again it wouldn't)

I then tried moving the unnamed folder from the IMAP server to my
computer. When I did this, Evolution deleted all the emails in my Inbox.
This is totally unacceptable. I realise that small bugs do occur in
software, but this is a serious bug which causes data loss and which
still hasn't been fixed, despite being reported over 2 years ago.
Furthermore, I am very annoyed that Evolution deleted all my e-mails. I
am therefore uninstalling Evolution and will not be reinstalling it
until this bug is fixed, because at the moment it is a liability. I
cannot use an e-mail client if it risks deleting all my e-mails.

The importance of this bug needs to be marked as MAJOR because it causes
 data loss.

I agree. Evolution is not usable until this bug is fixed. Bug should be
marked as critical.

[Bug 261721] Re: X never sees brightness key release events

2008-11-12 Thread Majkijin
Dimitrios Symeonidis: according to several user reports, this issue was
fixed in kernel 2.6.27-8. marking as such. thanks go out to everyone for
helping triage and confirm the fix of this bug.

According to several user reports, kernel 2.6.27-8 fixes only a part of the
problem. For instance on my system, keyboard is not locked after changing
brightness but the dialogue still doesn't appear.
Is it good to mark issue fixed when it is fully fixed only for several users?
Shouldn't we mark it after it is fully fixed for every user?

system is now 2.6.24-21.42 and ipw2200 module loads and works fine
again.

[Bug 243197] [NEW] Openoffice dosn't work after upgrade to 2.4.1

2008-06-26 Thread Majkijin
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openoffice.org-gtk

After upgrade openoffice to 2.4.1 it cannot be launched. After splash screen I
get frozen window. When I run it from terminal I get no errors in example:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ oowriter
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$
but oowriter looks like at the attachment image.
If I remove a openoffice.org-gtk and openoffice.org-gnome package, everything
works fine.
I haven't such a problems with openoffice 2.4.0.

** Affects: openoffice.org (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
