[Bug 890705] Re: temp file links left in /tmp to ppd file in /etc/cups after printing
I had the same thing as Marcel noted in comment #8. My /tmp directory was filled with links to a ppd file under /etc/cups. I had to reboot in recovery mode to remove them. There were more a million, there were at least one link for every 13-digit hexademical number starting with the same 6 digits so at least 2^28, or approximately a quarter of a billion. I had to create a script to delete them because it was too many arguments for rm to handle. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/890705 Title: temp file links left in /tmp to ppd file in /etc/cups after printing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/colord/+bug/890705/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1311316] Re: After locking screen there is no input field to type password for unlock
I experience this issue on a single-screen environment; however, we frequently have multiple users logged in and so are using multiple virtual terminals. [Bug 1363557] [NEW] Password textfield missing when unlocking
Public bug reported: Intermittently the password textfield will be completely missing from the unlock screen. The user's name appears and the background graphic which usually surrounds the textfield is present, but the textfield itself is missing. This typically happens when multiple users are logged into the computer. Unfortunately I do not have reliable steps to repeat the problem. There are a number of workarounds. Sometimes I can use ctrl-alt-f7 or -f8 to switch to another user, log that user out and get to the log in screen with all the users listed. Then the original user can log in. Sometimes it is necessary to switch to ctrl-alt-f1 and restart lightdm. Sometimes I need to log into the machine remotely and restart lightdm. Sometimes all of these fail and it is necessary to restart the computer. If there is something I could do to gather more information the next the computer is in this state, I would be happy to do so. Unfortunately I cannot run ubuntu-bug while the problem is exhibited, as there is no access to the GUI. 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System - About Ubuntu Description:Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS Release:14.04 2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy pkgname' or by checking in Software Center unity: Installed: 7.2.2+14.04.20140714-0ubuntu1.1 Candidate: 7.2.2+14.04.20140714-0ubuntu1.1 Version table: *** 7.2.2+14.04.20140714-0ubuntu1.1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty-updates/main amd64 Packages 500 http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty-security/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 7.2.0+14.04.20140416-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/main amd64 Packages 3) What you expected to happen The unlock screen would contain a textfield to accept the user's password. 4) What happened instead The unlock screen contained no place to enter the user's password. [Bug 1263326] [NEW] Formula values not updated automatically
Public bug reported: I am planning on attaching an example spreadsheet which demonstrates the issue. The example spreadsheet is a checkbook where the account is split into three categories. Then there is a 'Total' category which is the sum of the transactions in the other categories. The idea is to have virtual subaccounts in the checkbook. When you open the example you will see that cells H6 and I6 are not being calculated and display #VALUE instead. However, if you do something which causes Calc to re- calculate the cells, the value will display fine. For example if you sort the rows based on the date column. Another trigger is to re-copy the formulas for D6 and E6 by selecting D5 and E5 and pulling the formula down. The issue can be reproduced by entering another line in the checkbook (all the formulas are already entered through row 1000). Entering the date in A6 causes the formulas to become live. There is a further issue with this spreadsheet in column F. Column F is an indicator that the bank has reflected the transaction to facilitate balancing the checkbook. You will notice that F4 and F5 contain the string 'x ', that is 'x' followed by two spaces. Unfortunately I have only entered 'x' into these cells. Every time the spreadsheet is saved, closed and re-opened another space is appended to these cells. I haven't been successful re-producing this phenomena in another spreadsheet and I am not sure if it is related to the issue above. These issues appeared with the upgrade from 13.04 to 13.10. [Bug 1263326] Re: #VALUE doesn't propagate correctly subtracting text from numbers
Christopher, the calculation in H6 of H5-D6 is protected by the IF() function, ensuring that we do not use H5-D6 when D6 is . In fact, the cell has the proper value when other things are changed that should not affect this bug. As I stated in my original description, this includes ordering the rows by date or re-copying the formulas in D6 and E6 to themselves. This proves that the formula in H6 is fine. Furthermore the formula for H4 and H5 are the same as H6 except for the row numbers and as you can see there is no #VALUE issue with those cells. This behavior is new, I have been using this spreadsheet since 2001 in OpenOffice/LibreOffice and never had this issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1263326 Title: #VALUE doesn't propagate correctly subtracting text from numbers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1263326/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1263326] Re: #VALUE doesn't propagate correctly subtracting text from numbers
Further investigation reveals that the issue is that the cell D6 is incorrectly evaluated to the value instead of the value . This can be verified by copying the cell D6 and pasting just the text into another cell. [Bug 1256646] [NEW] [System Product Name, Nvidia MCP77/78 HDMI, Digital Out, HDMI] No sound at all
Public bug reported: Sound stopped working on upgrade from 13.4 to 13.10. Up until then, sound via HDMI worked fine. Now, I get no sound through HDMI. [Bug 1080726] [NEW] Installer should ensure a Boot BIOS partition is created on GPT when BIOS is non-EFI

However, when returning to another user's session, we find that the music player was started in that session as well. Furthermore the window decorations are missing from the application when this happens; I was able to close the music player by right-clicking its representation in the taskbar and selecting close. I expected that the music player would be confined to running within the current user's session only. Unfortunately I am not at the computer exhibiting the problem right now, so I cannot get the exact output of 'lsb_release -rd' but I can say it is release 8.04 and up-to-date as of 2008/06/23. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Music player starts in all user sessions https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/242982 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Yes, it was Rhythmbox (the window title for Rhythmbox is just Music Player). $ apt-cache policy rhythmbox rhythmbox: Installed: 0.11.5-0ubuntu8 Candidate: 0.11.5-0ubuntu8 Version table: *** 0.11.5-0ubuntu8 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com hardy-updates/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 0.11.5-0ubuntu6 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com hardy/main Packages -- Music player starts in all user sessions https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/242982 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 185811] Re: No sound on fresh install of 7.10
The following advice from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ASUS_M2N-E_SLI seems to have made my system whole: [quote] The sound card works, is an ubuntu alsa 'misconfiguration' (from my point of view) that cause the problem. The /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base configuration prevent the snd-usb-audio module to grab the index 0, becaming the default audio driver. To solve the problem is sufficent to comment or delete the following line in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base: #options snd-usb-audio index=-2 After a reboot audio will work. [Bug 185811] Re: No sound on fresh install of 7.10
Some additional information. Some applications are working fine with sound, e.g. the Movie Player, or Firefox playing mp3s. Other applications are not working with sound, e.g. mpg321 or Firefox playing Flash or Java plug-in. [Bug 185811] [NEW] No sound on fresh install of 7.10
Public bug reported: Installed 7.10 using the Live CD on a new system with onboard sound (Asus MSN-E SLI mainboard with USB audio) and sound did not work with the system. I finally got sound to work via System - Preferences - Sound and then changing all the choices from 'Autodetect' to 'USB Audio'. Let me know if there is any additional information I can supply. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- No sound on fresh install of 7.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/185811 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
