[Bug 54849] Re: deskbar applet only reads local firefox search engines

2006-08-01 Thread kmon
mmm

Strangely, after filling this bug the other quicksearches re-appeared.

I'm closing the bug since somehow it's gone.

Sorry for the inconvenience

[Bug 54422] gnome-theme-manager shows mouse icons in the icons section

2006-07-29 Thread kmon
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

Hi

I've installed this icon theme for my mouse pointer: http://www.gnome-
look.org/content/show.php?content=14775

This icon theme is only for the mouse pointer but it appears in the
icons tab list inside gnome-theme-manager. I think it doesn't make much
sense there since it's not a desktop icon theme.

I'm using dapper up to date.

Thanks

[Bug 54452] the keyring should be transparent for the user

2006-07-29 Thread kmon
Public bug reported:

Hi

currently, gnome's keyring ask for a password to save all keys in the
keyring, I think this is not very user friendly. Once I logg in with my
login credentials I should be capable of using the keyring wirhout being
asked for a password, since I'm already authenticated in the system. In
kde (kwallet) at least you can create a wallet with a blank password
(which maybe is not very secure but at least it's not annoying).

Thanks

[Bug 54422] Re: gnome-theme-manager shows mouse icons in the icons section

2006-07-29 Thread kmon
Hi

I downloaded the package from the link provided above. Then I used the
mouse settings capplet from gnome to install it and use it.

The theme was installed in ~/.icons/

It includes a index.theme:

Name=Jaguar X
Comment=Famous OS cursors

Hi again

I've deleted the .idex file and the theme doesn't appear in the icons
tab. So I assume it's not a bug.

[Bug 53382] Re: add patch from sled 10 to include location bar icon

2006-07-25 Thread kmon
Hi again

Thanks! This is a nice feature I was looking for in nautilus.
On another note, and OT, does ubuntu have any infrastructure to see patches
from other distros? I don't understand why this patch wasn't sent directly from
novell people upstream before, it's a very nice feature.

Thanks for your comments. You're probably right, time and work is
normally the reason behind this delays.

[Bug 53910] knot-1 Can't boot: mp-bios bug timer not connected to io-acp

2006-07-24 Thread kmon
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.17

Hi

I've just downloaded knot cd 1. I've tried to boot it but got this error
message:
[17179573.476000] ..MP-BIOS bug: 8254 timer not connected to IO-ACPI.

Booting again with kernel parameters noapic, nolapic did the trick, but
I wasn't able to log into a virtual terminal not gnome (this I think is
because of this bug: https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source
/xserver-xorg-driver-ati/+bug/22985 )

I've included dmesg from dapper up to date (2.6.15) since I can't log in
properly.
Please ask for any feedback I can provide.

Thanks

[Bug 53382] Re: add patch from sled 10 to include location bar icon

2006-07-19 Thread kmon
I've found this link in opensuse:

http://lists.opensuse.org/archive/opensuse-commit/2006-May/0373.html
It includes the commit log and the patch.

it points to https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=158279 (you
need a novell account).

This patch was commited by federico, so I don't know if it will be
commited upstream. Do you want me to forward this bug upstream or is
there any way to do this from launchpad?

Thanks.

Hi Suse linux enterprise desktop 10 has patched nautilus to include a
