There could be 1 app with multiple plugins instead... ;) BTW: I wrote my own commandline telemeter app once; took me all of 5 lines of Python. And that was 4 lines more than the 1-liner using curl & sed that I made for the very old pre-"telemeter" traffic page... :) -- Jan Claeys -- ubuntu-be mailing list / mailto:ubuntu-be@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-be
Re: [Ubuntu-be] Report IsoMeeting @HSBXL yesterday
we already talked about that lense.. Yet, I believe that it's not a good idea to install them by default:let's say Telenet and Belgacom both have 50% of the market. That means that 50% will be left with an obsolete Telenet app and 50% will be left with an obsolete Belgacom app.. However, I do think it would be a nice addition to the repo's (for starters because I would love a Telenet and Mobile Vikings app). Maybe we can throw a hack/code/.. day :D(I'm really starting to like the way things go in hackerspaces..) grts Wouter > Date: Fri, 16 Sep 2011 20:13:00 +0200 > From: jurgen.gaere...@pandora.be > To: ubuntu-be@lists.ubuntu.com > Subject: Re: [Ubuntu-be] Report IsoMeeting @HSBXL yesterday > > Hey, > > just for the record... Hey, just for the record... I looked into the pyTelemeter thingie. It doesn't work anymore and is no longer maintained. (it worked on the old Telemeter, but the new one has a new interface and/or constellation) Anyways, even though it would be interesting, I don't think it's an option for the moment. If someone would enjoy writing a lense or applications for mobile vikings - they offer an API :) Grtz, Jurgen. Although we didn't do an awful lot it was a decent kickoff for this project. We made a few decisions etc. You can read the whole report on the wiki:https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BelgianTeam/LocalizedCD/IsoMeeting All of you who want to help are welcome. If you have any 'expertise' in this field, feel free to drop your comments on the page or leave them on the ML. Also: I put the report under *BelgianTeam/LocalizedCD/IsoMeeting* but now I'm thinking about it, wouldn't *BelgianTeam/PastMeetings/IsoMeeting* be a better place? grts Wouter -- ubuntu-be mailing list / mailto:ubuntu-be@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-be

Both are flash memory-based, but SSDs use striping (comparable to RAID 0) over lots of memory chips to multiply the speed. -- Jan Claeys -- ubuntu-be mailing list / mailto:ubuntu-be@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-be

You can add more packages as ubuntu by default doesn't support mp3, divx, flash... doesn't offer a nice dual boot switch... nor a "paint" program to edit your screenshots... It does however by default contain "libreoffice"... but no "parted"? I've noticed that a 64bit iso will not allways boot nice on all systems so I also state a 32bit should be used for maximum compatibility... I've been using 1gbyte sticks laying arround... "opstart schijf maken" doesn't do any verification check so it seems... out of 4 writes 2 didn't boot well and required a new copy process perhaps DD is better used to write the custom iso? Some sticks were slow... I guess newer/recent usb sticks are faster... a usb disc can't be compared to an SSD in matter of speed... although both are "flash" based? -- ubuntu-be mailing list / mailto:ubuntu-be@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-be
