[Ubuntu-BR] Java em Ubuntu 32bit

[Chicó]

É possível instalar o Ubuntu 32bit em uma máquina com um processador de
64bit? Falo isso porque até hoje não cosnegui resolver o problema do JAVA no
Ubuntu 64bit !!! E não tem quem me faça tentar outro "milagre" pra resolver!
Já desisti mesmo!!!

Tem algum pacote que se possa instalar pra poder atender o ramal da minha
mesa utilizando o notebook e um fone de ouvido com microfone? Tipo, pegar um
cabo e ligar a linha do meu ramal na placa de FAX e com algum software fazer
a emulação do meu aparelho telefônico?

3D não funciona!!! Desktop em Cubo é um sonho!

Depois de todo processo de instalação sem erros, o retorno que obtenho é o
abaixo:

Cara, é o seguinte... foram comprados 30 notes de 64bits... não tem como
mandar devolver... agora vem minhas possibilidades:

1 - Ninguém na lista possui um note ou desktop de 64bits (não presta, a
solução é trocar por um 32bits).
2 - Se existe um infeliz com esse tipo de equipamento (que é meu caso), não
vê flash rodando nem video no youtube (morra com esse fardo).
3 - Se existe alguém com esse equipamento e possui flash e video do youtube
rodando legal, está guardando o segredo comercial e ficando milionário
vendendo a tal solução!

Antes de postar a dúvida, procurei por vários how-tos pela net... nenhum
que dê a luz sem fazer valer a lei do milagre!

O que é preciso pra conseguir rodar os filmes do youtube??? Nunca consegui
instalar um plugin pra rodar as animações em flash!!! E nem instalei o Java
pra rodar direito, pois quando o java roda, o FF acaba fechando!

Estou usando o Ubuntu 7.04 64bit pois meu note é um DELL 131L.

Cara, tenho o mesmo problema que você. Comigo acredito que seja um pouco
diferente, pois, se eu abrir o XMMS (ou qualquer outro player), logo que o
Ubuntu inicializar (após o meu login) consigo tocar sem problemas, mas se eu
esperar alguns minutos, depois disso, surge uma mensagem de erro dizendo que
não tenho acesso ao dispositivo, que ele está desconfigurado ou a placa não
está funcionando corretamente. O negócio comigo é iniciar o XMMS
rapidamente, assim que fizer o login. Acredito portando que esse problema
seja ocasionado pelo NAUTILUS ou algo que me retorne uma campanhia de alerta
pra qualquer evento e acabe tomando a placa de som pra si, fazendo com que
nenhum outro aplicativo utilize-a. Tanto é verdade que se eu fechar tudo,
efetuar logoff e logar novamente (ouço a musiquinha de login) e abrir o XMMS
tudo funciona.

Abraços! e vamos descobrir o porque desse problema.

Tudo bem que você está usando o gDesklets sem o beryl, eu também não tenho o
beryl aqui e está dando esse erro de timout. Já reinstalei o pacote etc...

Alguém sabe como se vê a hora da Bios em uma máquina linux sem ter que
reiniciá-la?  O comando date diz apenas a hora do sistema unix atual, mas e
a hora da bios (caso a pilha esteja fraca)? Coisa de assobiar e chupar cana
ao mesmo tempo!!

Instalei o Nagios aqui pelo APT-GET etc... mas também tenho instalado o NTOP
na porta 3000 (http://localhost:3000). Quando executo no browser (
http://localhost) apenas me vem a página inicial do apache e nada do Nagios!

E aí pessoal, tudo bem? Espero que sim... também tenho um notebook
Dell 131L com o Ubuntu 7.04 e resolvi o problema da placa wifi desse
mesmo jeito, só estou em busca de um gerenciador de redes, pois não
consigo me conectar usando o que vem por padrão no sistema
(gnome-network-manager), mas enfim, acho que devo estar vacilando em
alguma configuração que vejo depois. Minha pergunta é a seguinte,
algum de vocês dois conseguiu fazer funcionar o desktop em CUBO nesse
notebook? Utilizando o Beryl etc... quando tento habilitar o serviço,
surge a mensagem de erro dizendo: Os efeitos da área de trabalho não
puderam ser habilitados. Alguém conseguiu por aí por o desktop em Cubo
pra rodar?

Como remover uma istalação antiga e não acabada do VMware?

 Jà fui pelo gerenciador de pacotes Synaptic e o VMware-server não
consta como instalado. Essa instalação do Vmware foi iniciada pelo
Automatix, mas como tudo é pacote DEB, não vejo problema nisso.

Tem tudo a ver com tua tabela de roteamento no iptables, está ficando
cheia ou foi mal configurada. Existe a opção de dar um purge, ou echo
 > nome do arquivo para alterar essa configuração.

Instalei aqui o GtkTerm, gráfico e prático, tão prático que já me habilitou
o cabo USB/Serial que tenho pra fazer a conversão... note 131L da Dell não
vem com porta serial... O Ubuntu instalou o driver e o GtkTerm reconheceu a
porta.

Existe um botão chamado NOT SPAM dentro da pasta SPAM, basta selecionar as
mensagens e clicar nele. Aqui, para as futuras mensagens o GMAIL aprendeu
que não eram SPAM.

[Ubuntu-BR] Ati Radeon X Desktop em Cubo

Pessoal, não consigo habilitar o desktop em cubo do Ubuntu 7.04, certamente
é algo relacionado a driver de vídeo ou monitor. Abaixo segue o hardware que
estou usando.

No ubuntu minha placa de vídeo é listada assim:

Section "Device"
Identifier  "ATI Technologies Inc RS485 [Radeon Xpress 1100
IGP]"
Driver  "radeon"
BusID   "PCI:1:5:0"

No Windows (que instalei só pra ver como ela seria listada) está:

Radeon Xpress 200M Series (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM)


Já fui ao forum buscar respostas pra minha questão e o máximo que consegui
um driver assinado pela própria ATI (fgrlx) que também não me permite
habilitar a função de Desktop em Cubo (Com esse driver, o Ubuntu
simplesmente diz que não foi possível habilitar, com os outros "radeon" e
"ati", a tela fica em branco e não sai disso).



 Estou usando um notebook da DELL - Latitude 131L com processador AMD
Turion 64bit
 Ubuntu instalado é a versão 7.04 de 64bits também.
