[Ubuntu-BR] Configuração do Fax Modem PCI SM56 Motorola no Ubuntu 8.04

Oi Emerson Camilo quero tentar lhe ajudar pois também passei por isto a duas
semanas.
Em primeiro lugar UBUNTU HARDY HERON é  o mesmo que o 8.04 logo que o nome
completo é este Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron.

Fiz o seguinte  fui no Forum do Ubuntu br e consegui  ver a solução do Modem
PCI SM56 Motorola neste  tópico:

Tutorial para HSP56 MR driver
Smartlink

Como vi que seu kernel 2.6.24-19-generic e seu ID 1057:3052 seu modem é
suportado pelo driver Smartlink. Tenho quase certeza que você vai consegui.

Leia atentamente o que tem escrito neste tutoria pois só assim irá consegui
instalar seu modem.

Saudações:

Comprei um computador recentemente com o objetivo de aprender o Ubuntu 8.04.
O Computador é da marca Sunsix, (brasileira) que por sinal já vem com o 
Ubuntu instalado.

Quando terminei de montar, percebi que a placa de Fax-Modem não estava 
instalada, pois tentei entrar na internet
e me decepcionei quando recebi a seguinte mensagem "Modem não encontrado".

Consequencia: Estou acessando internet atraves de lan house, procurando uma 
solução pra esse problema, sei que existe o tal de linmodens.org
mas sou leigo ainda no quesito programação, edição de código fonte. (tem muitas 
soluções apresentadas pra esse problema, por isso fico perdido na melhor 
escolha).

Consegui escanear o modem, o scanModem me retornou isso:


Eles pedem pra mandar esse email pra [EMAIL PROTECTED] mas sempre que eu mando 
o email volta, acho que não tá mais funcionando, se alguem puder 
me ajudar, por favor pois aqui só uso internet discada e preciso muito que a
