What kind of infrastructure is that :)

I don't totally understand this, even if the sources were the same, it
was for sure rebuilt on Feisty, wasn't it? Aren't all packages rebuilt

Couldn't you otherwise roll a no-change rebuild (but with corresponding
-dbgsym) into feisty-updates?

[Bug 120220] "Connect to server" have minimal dialogues - Needs to communicate more

2007-06-13 Thread brettalton
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

After entering the correct information in "Places > Connect to
Server..." and clicking "Connect", there is no notification of what
"Connect to Server" is doing.

This appears in Dapper (6.06.1), Edgy (6.10), Feisty (7.04) and Gusty
(7.10) [2007-06-13] - 4.10, 5.04 and 5.10 not tested.

* If I enter in a domain that is incorrect or times-out, nothing appears as a
dialogue - an icon does - sometimes - appear on the desktop
* If I have conflicting .ssh/known_hosts keys, no dialogue appears to tell me
that there is a problem.

Both of these problems have the correct error output when using "ssh
[EMAIL PROTECTED]"; Most users aren't aware of how to use the terminal and
therefore can't figure out what is wrong with their connection.

How to repeat:
1) Enter in an incorrect domain, user, port for ssh in 'Connect to Server',
then click 'Connect' - nothing appears as the cause of the problem BUT an icon
appears on the desktop - not helpful
2) Connect to a second computer using ssh (on the command-line or otherwise).
Disconnect and then write new rsa/dsa keys and then connect again. If you use
"Connect to Server..." which reads the file .ssh/known_hosts, "Connect to
Server..." will not tell you that there are conflicting keys in that file.
"Connect to Server..." should offer a solution by deleting that entry in the
file, or deleting the file altogether. At a minimum, a dialogue should appear
to make the user aware there is a problem.

I have even had a problem on my recently upgrade Feisty (7.04) machine
that when I try "Connect to Server", nothing appears in dialogue format
(of course), but also no icon appears on the desktop. "killall nautilus"
doesn't fix the problem, but a reboot does. This is when I am greeted
with multiple versions of a shortcut to my server that I entered. (ie:
"server", "server (1)", "server (2)", etc.)

I'm not sure what files are involved in this bug, but I am willing and
still able to post any files that you request.

[Bug 108643] Re: nautilus, media containing multiple partitions cannot be unmounted (USB connected)

2007-06-13 Thread Sergio Zanchetta
Are you sure it's correct to reassign this bug to hal?
The bug is on "eject" packet, not into "hal" packet...
Updating hal is just a workaround since updated hal uses umount instead of
eject.

[Bug 119175] Re: jnlp support in Firefox

2007-06-13 Thread finalbeta
VERSION:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ java -version
java version "1.4.2"
gij (GNU libgcj) version 4.1.2 (Ubuntu 4.1.2-0ubuntu5)

Copyright (C) 2006 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
This is free software; see the source for copying conditions. There is NO
warranty; not even for MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
-

Example of a Java Web Start Application:

http://users.telenet.be/greenhouse/foldersync/releases/0.1/foldersync.jnlp

Updating alternatives:
sudo update-alternatives --config javaws
This command does not work, there is no javaws

One can configure sudo update-alternatives --config java
But this doesn't change anything for the browser.

The problem is that the browser doesn't know what to do with the file. Open it
with "browse program", or save to disk. (See attached image).
What Firefox should do it simply start Java and let Java ask the user what
should happen.

PS: a jnlp file is just an xml file that should be passed to
/usr/bin/javaws

[Bug 84603] Re: Hard disk I/O randomly freezes when hald is running and optical drive is empty

Guys, I too have an ASUS Z35f with TS-L632D drive. But when I try using

What should I do? Should I use the TS-L632D_AS99.bin firmware instead?
I don't see how that could help since AS05 and AS99 have the same

3. Get the boot CD image from http://pioneerdvd.rpc1.org/boot_iso.zip, unzip

4. Boot from the CD-RW.

I have a similar issue on Gutsy, but the errors are a bit different (see

.dat files can't be copied.

I can't find a cdfs package, only a cdfs-src but that doesn't build
(under Gutsy, at least), I think it's made for a different kernel.
