[Bug 147298] Re: [Gutsy] AD198x Analog: microphone misconfigured
Sound capture not working seems to be independent of the error message. I still get this error message in Gutsy, but I got sound capture working fine after turning up the levels in alsamixer. Also, the error message no longer comes up in Hardy Alpha 3. A bug that doesn't cause major problems, or one with a workaround usually won't be fixed after a release. The developers make sure it's fixed in the development version, so that it works in the upcoming release. If you have an annoying bug that can't wait 6 months, the Ubuntu Backports project can backport stuff fixed in the development version into the current release. -- [Gutsy] AD198x Analog: microphone misconfigured https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/147298 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 53516] Re: Incorrect 5.1 audio when playing DVD
I am also having problems getting 5.1 sound. After messing with '.asoundrc' and several other hacks, I was able to get 5.1 sound working with a couple of players. However, now when I attempt to play something with totem (xine), it kills 5.1 for the entire system. I end up with stereo coming over 6 speakers and no way to change it no matter what I choose in VLC. If I restart the system, 5.1 is back again. I don't know what service is causing this to fail. The fact that ubuntu does not recognize and use 5.1 sound when hooked up to a capable soundcard (without a series of hacks accompanied by liberal swearing), renders it quite useless as an HTPC which is the primary function of my system. [Bug 153963] Re: [PATCH] Add STAC9228 DMIC support, SRU TEST CASE
Hello! I upgraded to Hardy, and at least got no error message anymore when testing the MIC at System > Preferences > Sound. But I still have no sound. I installed the following packages: alsa-base-1.0.15-4ubuntu1 alsa-utils-1.0.15-2ubuntu1 linux-backports-modules-2.6.24-3.2-generic linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-3-generic-2.6.24-3.6 But all that I can hear from any record I do is that damn loud noise! I played a lot with the volume control, and got no success yet. Anyone can help me? [Bug 152362] Re: icedtea-java7-plugin always crashes firefox
I tried Matthew's method, and met with moderate success. I was able to load the test applet on java.com, but unable to load the applet which Facebook uses for the upload of pictures. I also tried to use the icedtea- java7-bin_7~b22-1.5~20071018-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb, icedtea- java7-jre_7~b22-1.5~20071018-0ubuntu1_all.deb, icedtea- java7-plugin_7~b22-1.5~20071018-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb, and others from the URL given above, but met with equal success/failure (depending on your choice of optimism/pessimism, I guess). I know it's not icedtea, but I really want to have a working java plugin, so I tried downloading the jdk1.7.0 JDK from https://jdk7.dev.java.net/. [Bug 182498] Re: Update Manager could not calculate the upgrade
Same here. After closing the first message and installing quite a lot of updates, the message comes up again, and about 30 updates (Distribution updates) or so are just gray and cannot be installed. ** Attachment added: "Error message from the updater" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/11323302/apt.log -- Update Manager could not calculate the upgrade https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/182498 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 93284] Re: music-applet fails on second login session
Sorry, upstream forgot it was his responsibility to maintain the Ubuntu package himself. Like https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/music- applet/+bug/93284/comments/12 said two months ago, the patch will be in the next release, so it's a pretty good bet that the patch fixes the problem. -- music-applet fails on second login session https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/93284 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 182760] [Hardy alpha 3] system freezes randomly on sempron (amd64)
Public bug reported: The system freezes randomly. The only way out is a hard reset. However I found that if I disable powernowd it never freezes again. Is that a kernel bug? This happens in feisty, gutsy and now in hardy alpha 3. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [Hardy alpha 3] system freezes randomly on sempron (amd64) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/182760 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Now that this bug has been fixed upstream, perhaps it won't be long till it's fixed in Ubuntu. -- python-nautilus: Feisty: Python script's methods seem to be not called by extension. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/145811 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
