[Bug 147751] Re: [Gutsy] Drag-n-drop function does not work for moving/ copying messages between folders

2008-01-14 Thread edonia
Lightning (calendar in thunderbird) has a new drag&drop-conversion
feature, i.e. you can transition items between tasks, events, and emails
from one to the other by dragging & dropping them to the matching mode
toolbar button

This works also not with
compiz + alltray + thunderbird

but works with:
compiz + thunderbird
alltray + thunderbird

[Bug 183109] [regression] Kobil card reader doesn't work with Hardy

2008-01-14 Thread Harald Seipp
Public bug reported:

The USB-attached Kobil Kaan Standard Plus cardreader that worked with all
pre-Gusty releases does no longer work with Hardy - tested with Alpha 3. Note
that it only worked on Gutsy with a patch - for details see #128228.
With Hardy Alpha 3, the driver does not load with the following error:
[ 88.125806] /build/buildd/linux-2.6.24/drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c: USB
Serial support registered for KOBIL USB smart card terminal
[ 88.125858] kobil: probe of 4-1:1.0 failed with error -5
[ 88.125880] usbcore: registered new interface driver kobil
[ 88.125885] /build/buildd/linux-2.6.24/drivers/usb/serial/kobil_sct.c:

[ 88.125890] /build/buildd/linux-2.6.24/drivers/usb/serial/kobil_sct.c: KOBIL

Note that on the same machine, the device works perfectly with the
patched Gutsy Kernel.

[Bug 123775] Re: Elantech touchpad is incorrectly recogonised as a "ImPS/2 Logitech Wheel Mouse"

2008-01-14 Thread Uggla
I wrote to Arjan about the button issue and got this reply:

Ah, so you are also affected by a bug that still is present in the latest
version of the driver that I released. Unfortunately it doesn't trigger on
my laptop so I never knew it was there until other testers informed me about
it...

If you want to experiment I have attached what I expect to be version 3 of
the driver and which should fix the problem of the buttons not working. I
sent it out to some of my testers and depending on their results will
hopefully be able to post it on my webpage for others to try soon.

Note that the patch is against linux 2.6.23 and probably does not apply to
2.6.22 without errors.

[Bug 156600] Re: Crash at kernel initialization when booting Xen on AMD Athlon X2

2008-01-14 Thread Rich Wales
I'm seeing this same bug on my Xen system (same versions of xen-
hypervisor-3.1 and linux-image-2.6.22-14-xen). In my case, the system
generally comes up, but domU's and/or the dom0 will crash sporadically
with a kernel bug at the location described in the original report.

I'm seeing two other problems (possibly related).

If I try to copy (scp) a large file onto my dom0, or any of the domU's,
the resulting copy of the file is corrupt.

And I'm getting ext3fs problems -- sometimes errors causing a filesystem
to remount as read-only, and sometimes crashes during fsck while
rebooting.

This has become serious enough that I'm going to have to abandon my
plans to bring up a production Xen cluster on this box until / unless
the problem can be fixed.

I reported this problem on the xen-users list, but no one there had any
ideas. I found an earlier posting to xen-users (from November 2007),
describing this same problem, with the subject "Crashing PV DomU, Can't
find the reason".

[Bug 28177] Re: [totem-gstreamer] AC3 pass-through option not selectable

I can play movies with ac3 or dts sound without any problems using

setting is being reverted to "Stereo" when I restart totem.

[Bug 28177] Re: [totem-gstreamer] AC3 pass-through option not selectable

2008-01-14 Thread codework
totem-gstreamer 2.20.0 & gstreamer 0.10.14

In playing with some Totem settings I tried out "AC3 passthough" in the
"Edit -> Preferences -> Audio" tab. I lost the sound in the .avi's I was
testing with. So, I went back to the "Audio" tab and changed the
selection to "Stereo" (Where is was at first). I restarted Totem...
still no sound.

I went back to the audio tab and saw that it was still set to "AC3
passthrough" even though I had changed it to "Stereo" the last time I
ran the program.

I have tried changing it back many times, but it has always remained on
"AC3 passthrough" when ever I have restarted and gone to look at the
"Audio" setting.

It has been two years.

[Bug 182038] Re: Black rectangle instead of image in FF3/Hardy

2008-01-14 Thread kripkenstein
I now think that indeed this and bug #18525 may be closely related, good
point, Nanley. When resizing, all sorts of odd things occur to images,
the 'black rectangles' reported in this bug may just be what happens
when the image is moved out of the visual area completely. In other
cases I have seen it moved partially out of the visual area.

So, is the "nv" driver the issue here? Perhaps this might explain why
there isn't a flood of reports of this bug.

[Bug 180525] Re: firefox-3.0 libpr0n resizes images into works of abstract art

2008-01-14 Thread kripkenstein
I believe I can confirm this, or something very similar. Looking at e.g.
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=604594 , at default zoom it
appears fine, but when resizing images is performed (at non-default
zoom), the image is either moved, or just a black rectangle is shown. I
now think that a black rectangle is a symptom of the image moved outside
of the view area, so this bug may be closely related to bug #182038.

Re: [Bug 73903] Re: pyrex-mode should provide 'pyrex-mode

2008-01-14 Thread Stefan Reichör
Hello Marco!

> Why do you think pyrex should have that ?
>
> ** Changed in: pyrex (Ubuntu)

Thanks for looking at this.

It is some kind of a convention for emacs packages.

When the (provide 'pyrex-mode) is given, it is possible
to load it via (require 'pyrex-mode)

If you try it without the provide statement, you get a warning, that
'pyrex-mode is not provided.

So this require statement is needed to make pyrex-mode a well formed
emacs lisp package. It does no harm and it helps to avoid a warning
message.

[Bug 147216] Re: System with LVM root filesystem won't boot

I'll confirm this bug. I'm running an LVM2 volume of 2 drives, just for
media. They work fine when started manually, but the /dev/mapper items
aren't there when fsck checks during boot. In other works, similar to
Martin, except I didn't have the nifty workaround.

[Bug 183076] "enable bitmap caching" option in tsclient doesn't work properly

2008-01-14 Thread dlstyley
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: tsclient

When I open tsclient, depending on what the last state of the "bitmap
caching" checkbox was, it opens with the opposite. In other words, if I
check the box and close it, then when I open it, the box will be
unchecked. But if I uncheck the box and close it, when I re-open it the
box is checked. Is this a bug or is something screwy on my installation?

[Bug 152928] Re: No plots in Gnumeric

2008-01-14 Thread Albert Santoni
I did a fresh install of Gutsy a while ago, but I copied over my .gnome2
folder (including gconf) and others from my old Feisty* installation.
This seems to have caused the "no plots" problem for me as well, but
running that "gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /apps/gnumeric" command
fixed it for me.

[Bug 182700] Re: Please sponsor sysinfo 0.7ubuntu3 (universe) into Hardy

2008-01-14 Thread Luke Yelavich
Since you are patching the desktop file, I suggest you ensure that the
desktop file validates with the desktop-file-validate tool, found in the
desktop-file-utils package. This is the error I get when attempting to
validate the desktop file.

sysinfo.desktop: error: value "computer.png" for key "Icon" in group
"Desktop Entry" is an icon name with an extension, but there should be
no extension as described in the Icon Theme Specification if the value
is not an absolute path

You can look at the below URL for the specification referred to above
for more information.

http://standards.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/latest/

Secondly, you should also include the bug number for this bug in the
changelog entry, so that when your package gets uploaded, the bug is
closed. The syntax is as follows: LP: #nn. In this case, it would be
LP: #182700

Thirdly, while the code you added to debian/rules does work for applying
patches, making use of a patch system like dpatch or quilt, saves a lot
of work when it comes to adding, or removing patch support to a package
that doesn't already use something like cdbs. Its fine for now, but I
would encourage the research of the dpatch and quilt packages, which
provide patch systems for building packages.

Please re-subscribe ubuntu-universe-sponsors once the above issues have
been addressed.

[Bug 183073] Please sync gtkpod 0.99.12-1 from Debian unstable (main)

2008-01-14 Thread Matvey Kozhev
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gtkpod

debian/changelog:

gtkpod (0.99.12-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release.
  * Adjust build-dependency on libgpod, >= 0.6.0 is now needed.
  * Bumped Standards version, no changes needed.
  * Updating 01_mountpoint.dpatch cause it did no longer apply.
  * Remove 03_itdb-set-local-to-imported.dpatch, included upstream.
  * Remove 02_missing_fclose.dpatch, not needed anymore. Upstream source code
changed and the function does not have a local FILE stream that needs to be
closed anymore.

 -- Nico Golde <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sun, 13 Jan 2008 17:24:33 +0100

Debian, therefore, has made the same changes as the current Ubuntu
version, 0.99.12-0ubuntu1, so the Debian version can be synced to reduce
divergence from Debian.

In addition, there is one important change that I missed: the updated
libgpod build-dependency, which we would have to fix that sooner or
later anyway.
