I had somehow the same problem. But I don't think it is a pm-utils problem it is just triggered through suspend/resume. You have a udev problem, because following in your dmesg output: wlan0_rename and after resume: wmaster0 Solution: Remove the following file it gets regenerated after the next reboot: rm /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules Maybe you've got a long bootup delay too, this will be gone too ;) -- Upgrade from 0.99.2-3ubuntu5 to 0.99.2-3ubuntu6 breaks wireless after resume (iwl3945) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/208103 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This bug stand for a automatic resolution detection. Actual usplash use values in /etc/usplash.conf and initramfs must be updated for usplash to work with the correct values. This is indeed not fixed: - the old interface is marked as deprecated so that's not really a long term solution - the plugin with or without the 04_use-sysfs.patch is still broken for me. Using Evince Document Viewer 2.20.1 in Ubuntu Gutsy, I noticed that the the default printer settings are ignored and when entered in the print setup, are forgotten as soon as Evince is exited and re-entered. My default printer (a Brother) is remembered by my other applications, but not by Evince. The same about paper size (A4). I know it's easy to open the Print Setup menu and change Any Printer to Brother... and Paper Size from US Letter to A4, but hey, since other applications can remember such basic settings, I thought, well, let's just ask. [Bug 190934] Re: [hardy] keyboard modifiers randomly forgotten
I reproduced this bug (once only) by doing the following: 1. I ran xev. 2. I did the key combination for 'brightness down'. The brightness dimmed but xev reported a continuous series of 101 key press / release events. This keycode 101 is listed at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KubuntuLaptopKeycodes as being the brightness down key for some Dell laptops like mine. 3. I did the key combination for 'brightness up'. The brightness increased and xev reported a single key press / release combination for key code 212. The stream of 101 keycodes stopped. After step 3, the key modifiers all work. However, I haven't been able to make it happen again. Brightness down normally generates no key events as far as xev is concerned (although the brightness does dim) and brightness up generates a single press / release sequence for keycode 212. So might the bug be related to the brightness controls? Note bug 188775, where X changes the screen brightness at random intervals for some users. I haven't noticed that bug on my system for a while now, but X now also rarely forgets key modifiers - it seems to happen after resume or in the 'brightness down' sequence in step 2 above. -- [hardy] keyboard modifiers randomly forgotten https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/190934 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 192056] OpenOffice.org User's list
Yvette, I'm not sure how I got CC:d in this, but since I have been, I'll add my 2¢. The security on MS Office documents appears to be easily circumvented and probably only exists for the dual purposes of (false) marketing and hindering interoperability. However, I myself neither use nor condone the use of MS Office, so I cannot do more than say that I hear from time to time about locked documents being retrieved. But the above is not immediately helpful in getting your lost documents. Since this is not a bug and not a problem with the *buntu distros, the best place to get practical information regarding question like this would be to contact the OpenOffice.org Users' mailing list and pose your question there: [EMAIL PROTECTED] see also http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/SummarizeList?listName=users mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/SearchList?listName=users From there you should be able to 1) sooner or later get information about how to get your lost documents, 2) ensure that the needed functionality is eventually added to OpenOffice.org if it is currently missing. -- Cannot Open Read-only MS Office 2003 files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/192056 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 208682] [NEW] Improper wording when asking to save changes on exit

Do you want to save your changes? The three options are the following: Save, Discard, Cancel. [Bug 207798] Re: libglib1.2 dependency
I'm rather sure this is not a valid bug-report. The driver is a third party one, ubuntu unfortunately cannot take care of every possible dependency of apps not provided by ubuntu (and like in this case, non free ones). glib1.2 as well as gtk+1.2 are deprecated for a few years now, there is no longer any upstream-support for these libs, so as a consequence they were removed from hardy because fixing possible security issues and other oddities in combination with other apps would require too much manpower needed for other applications which are much more important nowadays. I did not try it yet, but I'm rather sure you can install the gutsy-packages in hardy to make the driver work (or you can recompile them based upon the gutsy-source-packages for hardy). The best solution would be of course, if canon would provide updated drivers, but I'm not sure how likely something like this is. -- libglib1.2 dependency https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/207798 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 207798] Re: libglib1.2 dependency
I've found a possible workaround in debian bug tracker. It is dealing with a similar issue (canon ip1500). The debian package you've posted was converted from a rpm one, using alien. Alien picked up the dependencies that where present on the system, the package was initially created (e.g. gutsy), therefore it depends on libglib1.2 and not on libglib1.2ldbl, which is now the name of the library. To get it work, download the driver from canon website and convert the package using alien on your hardy-install (with all needed dependencies already installed). see: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=434264#20 -- libglib1.2 dependency https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/207798 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I'm not sure. I seem to have adjusted my behavior and will have to observe. If you hear nothing back by next saturday, then consider it resolved or at least intermittent enough that it's not immediately solvable. I have no other add-ons at this time except enigmail. I took them all out for a while and did a fresh install of thunderbird. In regards to trying with the latest ubuntu. No, I cannot. PPC is not supported and the *buntu releases later than 7.04 do not function. I use this machine for work and am not willing to mess with it more. The last few (about 8 or 9) times I tried to move from 7.04 to 7.10 the display no longer worked and I had to re-install 7.04.
