[Bug 92652] Re: C-cedil not present in US-International keyboard
I understand jcfp point. And it's good. US-intl should be as international as possible. But lets get to the facts. Brazil has two types of main keyboards. ABNT2 that has the c-cedil key, and US-intl that just maps the '+c to c-cedil. This sure represents circa 95% of brazilian keyboards. If you go to layout and choose Brazil, you get 7 variants, the default is ABNT2 wich represent circa 50%. But there's no variant that sets us- intl. When you install ubuntu it lets you choose between abnt2 or intl for brazil, and intl just doesn't work as supposed. Besides of getting ć instead of c-cedil I also get many other combination that simply doesn't exist in portuguese (ŕ, ý, ś, ń, ...). I really think that an Brazil - US - international should be created. This should sit in the keyboard preferences layout under: Layout: Brazil Variant: US-intl I never liked the idea that to configure my keyboard to portuguese I should go to US and choose International, maybe it's correct but it just doesn't feel right. [Bug 184440] Re: [nvidia] Blue hue in all videos
Verified Moritz Kammerer's resolution. This is a better temporary fix, since videos are still hardware scaled with 'xv'. The odd thing, however, is that mplayer (with default 'xv' vide out) now works fine too. It seems as if the totem setting somehow changes system- wide state. Can more people confirm that after changing setting in Totem (or, potentially, some other tool), that VLC and mplayer also are affected? This could perhaps indicate that some intermediate (or current) version of Totem or gstreamer had a bug in the default hue calibration, which set the wrong system-wide state. So far only speculation, so we need more input from other users and perhaps someone with more intimate knowledge of the video stack. -- [nvidia] Blue hue in all videos https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/184440 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 210683] [NEW] Routing between alias subnets on same interface produces RFC-1812 contravening ICMP redirects
Public bug reported: s/debian/ubuntu/g From http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=397550 reported by Ken Chase: This really isnt debian's fault. I just want to see if I can get a bug that was talked about and a patch offered for linux 2.2 in 2000 (!!) and discussed several times since actually FIXED sometime somehow. At least debian can patch it in its kernels even if the rest of the world carries this around forever. All the details of how this bug works are described here (though Ive included all salient details in this report): http://oss.sgi.com/archives/netdev/2004-07/msg00512.html The offending line in linux-tree-2.6.18 is now at line 1750 of net/ipv4/route.c and can use the same patch as per the above url. As the url above indicates, reproduce this bug with: To trigger this, you need two linux boxes. On the box acting as router (it only needs one ethernet interface), do: ifconfig eth0 down ifconfig eth0 192.168.10.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 ifconfig eth0:1 192.168.99.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 echo 1 /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward for f in /proc/sys/net/ipv4/conf/*/shared_media do echo 0 $f done On the other box, start a sniffer such as ethereal, and do: ifconfig eth0 down ifconfig eth0 192.168.10.2 netmask 255.255.255.0 route add -net 192.168.99.0/24 gw 192.168.10.1 ping 192.168.99.2 You will see ICMP redirect packets sent from 10.1 to 10.2 telling it to route to 99.2 directly itself. Obviously impossible for 10.2 since it's not on the 99.0/24 network. This is tested with 2.6.17-2-vserver-k7 and 2.4.22-ac2 (which I spose is not strictly debian), but the bug has been in the source since linux 2.2 as mentioned. /kc -- Ken Chase - [EMAIL PROTECTED] Toronto CANADA. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: debian Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #397550 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=397550 ** Also affects: debian via http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=397550 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- Routing between alias subnets on same interface produces RFC-1812 contravening ICMP redirects https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/210683 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I'll be able to test this on Linux 2.6.24 only after Hardy is released. [Bug 210682] [NEW] Display refresh problem in freecell card game?
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-games Sometimes when cards are moved fast, some remnants of cards stay visible until the screen area is refreshed the next time (e.g. another card animation or a workspace switch) I will attach a screenshot. Re: [Bug 49791] Re: Inhibit Gnome Power Manager from suspending while playing
I think that it is a good idea. If I am playing music with the lid closed, I am usually listening to the music and do not want the computer to suspend due to inactivity. If the laptop is low on battery, it will of course still suspend. You may also find that you enjoy playing music more if you don't have the sound muted ;)... -- Inhibit Gnome Power Manager from suspending while playing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/49791 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 44562] Re: Switch user causes screen resolution to change
This bug's fairly far out of date and has no recent testing activity, but the original issue is probably fixed. We've implemented a new Screen Resolution tool since the last comment, which includes xrandr- based per-user resolution setting that I *think* will address the crux of the issue here. The issue with the gdm login screen having its own resolution is a separate issue and already reported elsewhere. (Also there's nothing we can easily do about it in the near term.) gdm has changed a bit since this original report, so maybe the current behavior is more acceptable (in my testing it seems ok on some systems, but still not quite right on others, but I think it might be a missing-EDID problem.) ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Fix Released -- Switch user causes screen resolution to change https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/44562 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
