[Bug 201638] Re: torcs-bin crashed with SIGSEGV
I think i may have the same problem. At first i thought it was just crashing about 10 seconds in. Then i realised it was when i hit another car that it crashed (for example drove into the car to push it out of way :p ). Is this the same thing as you? I'm using nvidia driver. You can get debugging symbols for torcs from synaptic after adding this repository: deb http://ddebs.ubuntu.com gutsy main universe I have debugging symbols now but I cant figure out how to get gdb to debug it :S When i was trying to debug it i found that the bin file its accessing is a script that initiates torcs and tells it where all the libs are etc. In that same file it said something about debugging torcs with -d option. So i did that and I'm adding output as attachment. Maybe it has the backtrace you want? The bit near the bottom looks like a backtrace to me? but I don't know I don't have much experience in debugging (I've only ever written extremely basic programs and only needed to debug once). ** Attachment added: "output of torcs -d" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/14696174/torcs%20-d -- torcs-bin crashed with SIGSEGV https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/201638 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 202089] Re: Pulseaudio is blocking normal sound after resume
I had a similar problem while coding an openAL program. [Bug 234711] [NEW] Print-preview pop-up fails to disappear
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gedit Ubuntu 8.04 Gedit 2.22.1 When viewing a print preview of a plain text file, if the cursor remains stationary for a few seconds, a small yellow pop-up appears, stating "Page 2 of 5", or something similar. [Bug 207072] Re: nautilus does not display samba shares for machines inside an ADS network.
I swapped in the smb-browse binary from comment 28. Seems to work, but the only thing is it doesn't do is to save the passwords into the keyring. Another big problem I discovered was that if you bookmark any windows server (eg. smb://server ) that requires password in nautilus, you will SLOW DOWN your save/save as/open dialogs in programs such as gimp, openoffice, and practically any gtk programs. It will take around 5 seconds for the dialog to appear. When I removed those bookmarks, the save/save as/open file dialogs became zippy again. @Bryce Harrington: I tried the patch from bug #151 and it didn't help this situation either. Each time you open a movie with totem-gstreamer, the following occurs: XV_BRIGHTNESS is reduced by 1 point; XV_CONTRAST is reduced by 2 points; XV_SATURATION is reduced by 3 points. Also, it seems XV_COLORKEY increases by 5 points (from 66046 to 66051) after the first invocation of totem, but it remains stable at 66051, unlike the three attributes above. @James McPhee: this bug report is for Intel cards only, your linked bug is not related. -- totem overrides XV_CONSTRAST/XV_SATURATION to wrong default value (Xv movies on i810/i945 have horrible colour/gamma/contrast) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/32963 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 190754] Re: Over-optimistic buffering in PulseAudio causes underruns (audible stuttering, pops)
I get the same behavior as just about everyone else here, but I do not thing it's a PulseAudio issue. At first it did seem it was Pulse- related, since thinks worked smoothly when I killed the PulseAudio daemon and used ALSA instead. That is, I could play music, Alt-Tab, switch desktops, listen to audio from Flash sites, all at the same time. However, when I listen to music with Rhythmbox and play a movie in Totem (even if the movie is paused) I can produce glitches on the music by Alt-tabbing, switching desktops, etc. I'm on a Pentium M 1.73MHz, with 1GB RAM, Mobility Radeon x300 (fglrx), 2 soundcards (one internal, one USB) and no compiz. Since I never use the internal card, I don't know if the glitches happen only on the USB one. [Bug 210783] Re: Cannot save/copy images properly from evince
I have tested Evince 2.22.1.1 poppler 0.8.2 (cairo), thanks to matteo, and some bugs are fixed indeed, but not everything. For example, I just had to try out some other files such as this one to stumble on problems. Try saving all the images of that file: some of them will, some won't (cannot be dragged, or no popup menu option). For an easy example, at the last page, the bottom-right image can be saved, but the 3 other images around it cannot. On page 18, some of the images can be saved, others can not. Also, sometimes some images are saved "flipped vertically" (but I'm not sure if that is a bug, as it happened only with the PDFs from that particular author). Moreover, sometimes you can only save with right-clicking, you cannot drag and drop for some really strange reason. For example, on page 3, try drag and dropping the ugly faces. Sometimes they will work, and sometimes they will *stop working*. Really weird. Actually, I have found how to reproduce this. Initiate a drag operation, then drop immediately in the middle of nowhere (inside evince for example). Then, you won't be able to drag *anything* from the PDF again, until you have switched to another window/application and come back. Not 100% reliable to trigger, but easy nonetheless. So, in short, there seems to be 2-3 bugs hiding in there. ** Attachment added: "test case for bugs in 2.22.1.1 and poppler 0.8.2" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/14694800/5%20-%20Perception%20de%20la%20forme%20et%20des%20objets.pdf -- Cannot save/copy images properly from evince https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/210783 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Ok. As per http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=4965973 there is a fix for Hardy. First, the Intuos3 works out of the box for me. Any particular reason to think that might be useful? Are you [darb] saying that it includes a utility to prepare the bad sector information for the satisfaction of gparted? On the other hand, I think that gparted ought to be prepared to deal with the situation I encountered. -- Gparted can't resize NTFS https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/222931 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 234690] [NEW] 54jde.el registers wrong java version
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: jde 54jde.el - function debian-jde-register-jdks - reports and registers wrong version of java. If package sun-java5-bin is installed, then debian-jde-register-jdks reports "53" as a version, instead of "1.5.0_15". As a result of this, jde-mode failed in the middle of processing, on line 901: "(if (and (not (jde-debugger-running-p)) jde-project-context-switching-enabled-p)" Probable source of problem is the way how debian-jde-register-jdks interpret output from "/usr/sbin/update-java-alternatives --list": "java-1.5.0-sun 53 /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun" - it treats second column (which is "priority" in /usr/lib/jvm/.java-1.5.0-sun.jinfo) as a java version. Workaround: comment out (debian-jde-register-jdks) in 54jde.el:95. [Bug 192888] Re: firefox crashes on flash contents when using libflashsupport
Peter, I simply took the 64bit Ubuntu source and hacked it to work on 32bit architectures. Here's a page describing nspluginwrapper: http://gwenole.beauchesne.info//en/projects/nspluginwrapper Arthur, I'm not sure if your experience will necessarily reflect other users, as libflashsupport seems to be packaged in the "ia32-libs" package for 64bit users. I noticed on the PulseAudio list there was a user requesting assistance (regarding this bug, IIRC), and he was convinced libflashsupport wasn't enabled, because he uninstalled the "libflashsupport" package. He was wrong, however, and libflashsupport was active all the time. This confusion should be addressed with regards to the packaging for 64bit users. -- firefox crashes on flash contents when using libflashsupport https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/192888 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 81239] Re: Cannot unmount volume: show which application(s) still use the drive
It would be ideal if that not-very-helpful-message displayed the list of processes hanging onto the volume. Plus, there should be the option to do a lazy unmount of that drive (umount -l). [Bug 192888] Re: firefox crashes on flash contents when using libflashsupport
As I've said in comment 162 I haven't had a single crash with Seamonkey stable or current Firefox nightlies installed from the Mozilla servers since installing libflashsupport and nspluginwrapper on my AMD64 Hardy system. A simple ~/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so -> /usr/lib /flashplugin-nonfree/libflashplayer.so symlink enables the flash plugin. So what I would be interested in is whether people affected by this bug see it with the "official" builds from ftp.mozilla.org. If we're lucky it's some sort of incompatibility between the Hardy firefox/xulrunner-1.9 builds and flash. [Bug 192888] Re: firefox crashes on flash contents when using libflashsupport
I've been using nspluginwrapper for Flash for quite a long time now, and it has always been much less annoying to have just the plugin crash than the whole browser. I take the view that proprietary binary blobs are almost as bad in the browser as in the kernel, so any step to uncouple them is good IMO. (Obviously it would be best if the Flash plugin were made open source and/or Flash itself opened up, but that's up to Adobe.) BTW Conn, while your nspluginwrapper package works, I'm intrigued as to what exactly it does.
