[Bug 194431] Re: trash applet refers to a different folder than the default one in ubuntu
Redirecting all trash to ~/.local/share/Trash/files does not fully solve the problem Correct implementation of trash will require: 1) Integration of all trash in all volumes, not just home 2) Displaying of original file names, not mangled ones 3) Display of metadata from Trash/info: delete date, original file path 4) Implementation of a restore option for trashed files Gnome's trash applet currently does 1 and 2, but not 3 and 4. Items deleted from another volume are found in "[path to mountpoint]/.Trash.-[Owner's UID]" Deleting something that has the same name as an item in the trash gives it an incrementing extension starting with appending a .2 to the name -- trash applet refers to a different folder than the default one in ubuntu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194431 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 214909] Re: radeonhd driver does not support changing panel brightness
For me on a ThindPad T60 (with the X1400 chip), suspend/resume doesn't work with the -ati driver, so I have to use the radeonhd driver to get widescreen resolutions. Switching to console using radeonhd doesn't work for me, just displays a screen with what seems to be vertical and horizontal lines being added at a very fast pace at random locations. Switching back to X worked fine. The other way to fix this, rather than disabling nullok_secure (which isn't a good idea as a default), would be to add your X console to /etc/securetty. Can someone test and confirm that this works? I'm not sure whether doing that by default would be a good idea, either, from a security standpoint. [Bug 136997] Re: Changing screen 2 settings does absolutely nothing
Thank you for reporting this bug and for your efforts to make Ubuntu better. As Xorg has improved this past year, an unfortunate side effect of these improvements is that it has rendered several design assumptions in displayconfig-gtk obsolete. So, starting with Hardy we are no longer putting displayconfig-gtk forth as a primary configuration tool, and are putting our development focus into the Screen Resolution applet. As a result, we do not plan to fix this bug and thus are closing it. Re: [Bug 247577] Re: AR5212/AR5213 driver failure after update today from .13-19.44 to 45
Sorry for the late answer, I was on holiday. removing the madwifi and updateing to the latest version of the restricted modules worked. When I installed it the WLAN had some very hidden issues. I could connect to a network and once I had connected, the networkmanager saved the profile and everything was fine. But when I entered the wrong values into the network manager, e.g. AES instead of tkip, the card failed to do anything, anymore. e.g. iwlist scan wouldn't work anymore, connecting to newtowrks wouldn't work anymore. Even after a restart, it was sometimes impossible to connect again. I disabled some things in the BIOS (like Don't put my pci devices to sleep) and now it works. I really have a lot more trouble with other tasks like hibernate, flickering flash with fullscreen movies, long boot time, etc. But I will fix that peu a peu. Thanks for your help, I really have some more trust now in the autoupdate function, since I realize, that it probally was a conflict caused by me installing the madwifi. by the way here is a comic, which pretty much accounts for me, too (approximately week six now) (Don' forget to hove your mouse pointer over it, to see the 'hidden' extra) http://xkcd.com/456/ Thanks you, Sebastian Dimitrios Symeonidis wrote: > I would suggest you remove the built-from-source version (run 'sudo make > uninstall' in the directory of the madwifi source code you used). > Then upgrade again to the latest version of the restricted modules, and type > 'sudo modprobe ath_pci' to load the module... > -- Support bottom-up innovation http://wiki.cofundos.org/About -- AR5212/AR5213 driver failure after update today from .13-19.44 to 45 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/247577 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 253185] [NEW] should backport OpenMP 3.0 to gcc-4.3.1 for Intrepid
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gcc-4.3 gcc implementation of the new openmp-3.0 standard has been merged into the svn trunk in June http://gcc.gnu.org/ openmp-3.0 contains quite a number of new features and redhat has already backported openmp-3.0 to 4.3.1. To make openmp-3.0 into Intrepid, which would help many multi-core machines, should we also backport openmpi-3.0 to gcc-4.3.1 in Intrepid? Can we just lift Redhat's diff into our one? http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/development/source/SRPMS//gcc-4.3.1-5.src.rpm ** Affects: gcc-4.3 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- should backport OpenMP 3.0 to gcc-4.3.1 for Intrepid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/253185 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 253186] [NEW] user mplayer config file can break ogmrip
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ogmrip my ~/.mplayer/config has afm=hwac3, because I have a digital (TOSLINK) connection to my speakers. I have to comment that line to use ogmrip, otherwise when it runs something like mplayer > fifo & faac < fifo, mplayer fails and faac is left blocked opening the named pipe file. (mplayer -afm hwac3 -ao pcm:... is what breaks.) possible solutions include mplayer -noconfig user, or mplayer -afm -hwac3. ** Affects: ogmrip (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- user mplayer config file can break ogmrip https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/253186 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
