Just to state that I am indifferent wether this is fixed with pam_group or by adding to the default groups in adduser. pam_group wouldn't intruduce much redundant info and fix existing systems/users, too. real group memberships would work for cron/at jobs? Hi Pedro Rhytmbox isn't my favorite player, but I've checked it further and it happens only on 2 lyrics, from same band so I think its more like web page encoding issue, than rhytmboxe's. Is there any way to find out which page is fetched to get lyrics, cause I'd like to confirm that its webpage issue. OK, I got further with solving the problem, it seems to work now. Steps I did: - make a vfat -F 16 onto the USB stick - syslinux -sf /dev/sdx1 (sdx = USB stick) - copy the contents of the alternate CD to the stick as close as possible, including the hidden .disk directory (I used tar) - copy the isolinux/isolinux.cfg to syslinux.cfg - Since the vfat does not support symlinks the dists directory can't be used that way by the installation procedure, it does not find the symlink stable -> hardy . There were some timeouts, retransmissions, duplicate acks, window closures, etc. All these "normally abnormal events" were handled in a reasonable manner. I conclude that the intrepid kernel with Ilpo's fix is correct:- when sending significant data to remote devices that have primitive tcp/ip stacks. I will research the fixes in intrepid to see which ones we should back-port, but this might take me some time...
