[Bug 473507] Re: System Test causes Kernel error icon to appear
Hi David, Does the error appear if you don't try to run the System Test? If not, which test(s) did you run that triggered the bug to be reported? Its seems there may have been a kernel oops detected, but unfortunately I'm not seeing it in your BootDmesg.txt nor your CurrentDmesg.txt. The only slightly related error I notice is the following which is just a harmless warning. [ 2645.944344] thinkpad_acpi: deprecated sysfs attribute: access by process with PID 4029 [ 2645.944348] thinkpad_acpi: WARNING: sysfs attribute hotkey_enable is deprecated and will be removed. [Bug 364918] Re: libindi0 conflicts with indi
I think removing indi completely is exactly what is needed. My understanding is that its functionality is all provided by libindi now. As for the fact that it provides binaries to /usr/bin, that is a worry. There's been an open bug on it for a while: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libindi/+bug/01 >From what I can see though, this is something that will have to be taken >upstream as the files in /usr/bin are part of the original libindi source. It *might* be possible to retain 2 packages, libindi0 for the libraries and indi for the executables, but looking at the current source layout, this would be quite a change. -- libindi0 conflicts with indi https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/364918 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi Kyle, It seems this DKMS error message was correct in the fact that you didn't have the necessary kernel header files installed. [Bug 469734] Re: [RV620] dell studio 15 karmic kernel crash on resume from suspend
Attached is the Xorg.0.log (Karmic / atiradeon). On Jaunty I used ati, radeonhd and fglrx, so I'm afraid I cannot give you a useful log. By my recollection, ati and radeonhd did not have (major??) suspend problems, but fglrx did until the latest two updates. Some further info. I did some testing this morning: Using ati driver. - Hibernate wakes up ok (no need for Ctrl-Alt-F7), but after a hibernate, other vt sessions (Ctrl-Alt-F4) show strange screeens. However, there is NO crash report, and the X session (Ctrl-Alt-F7) is still running. Using radeonhd driver. - Hibernate works as above. - Suspend is similar to ati. Needs Ctrl-Alt-F7 to wake it up, generates crash alert; vt sessions show messed up screen but does not completely freeze the system. Based on the above, I will set the power manager to hibernate on lid close instead of suspend. Wakeup will be much slower, but at least it seems to be more reliable. ** Attachment added: "Xorg.0.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/35204588/Xorg.0.log -- [RV620] dell studio 15 karmic kernel crash on resume from suspend https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/469734 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 410948] Re: Volume too loud
Maybe this is common knowledge, but maybe it'll help someone out. I have a Dell Inspiron 9300, and for me to get the "merge-ignore" fix to work, I had to modify the "analog-output-lfe-on-mono.conf" file instead of the ones mentioned here. [Bug 473649] Re: No idea what happend, just booted up and had a kernel bug report to send.
Hi the-ngt, I'm unfortunately not seeing anything obvious in terms of error messages in your attached BootDmesg.txt nor your CurrentDmesg.txt. I'd normally would have maybe also expected to see an attached OopsText.txt file but that doesn't seem to be the case here either. The fact that you're not noticing any lack of functionality combined with the fact there isn't much in terms of logged errors to go from, I'd lean towards maybe just closing this report for now. In the event the error is detected again, please do report it. Maybe it will have logged more information to help point to the issue. Thanks. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- No idea what happend, just booted up and had a kernel bug report to send. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/473649 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
