[Bug 349487] Re: AltGr key not working outside GNOME
I'm unfamiliar with the ion window manager (it's not one we regularly support), however I spoke with Arne about this and he said it looked like this was an improperly set up .Xmodmap. If you can reproduce a bug on a stock Lucid installation, please feel free to re-file the bug, but this appears to be more a personal configuration issue than a real bug so I'm closing it at this time. ** Changed in: xkeyboard-config (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid -- AltGr key not working outside GNOME https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/349487 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I've seen the bug with all Plymouth versions since Lucid Beta so far. I would describe it this way : On Plymouth passphrase dialog, I have to type SLOWLY and keep keys pressed firmly and long enough and check that a "bullet" is displayed for every key I press. If I type "normally fast", Plymouth misses 10-20% of the keys pressed. Confirming bug is here on Plymouth 0.8.1-1ubuntu3 and EeePC 1005PE (Intel Atom as well). Of course my machine's keyboard works perfectly once machine is booted... ** Changed in: plymouth (Ubuntu) Status: Fix Released => Confirmed -- missed passphrase keypress bug is back on MSI Wind U100 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/537793 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 546933] Re: FFE: xorg.conf.d/inputclass backport
If you mean that the video driver autoconfig works differently when there's an xorg.conf, then the autoconfig/fallback patch from SUSE fixes that. And if there's a Driver section in xorg.conf, the autoconfig path is bypassed (like before). I'm not aware of (or can't remember) other differences having a minimal xorg.conf or none at all. yes it's included, that's the whole point of this being accepted in debian :) (because it's sort of a failsafe mode to fall back on vesa/fbdev if the primary driver doesn't work) -- FFE: xorg.conf.d/inputclass backport https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/546933 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 365702] Re: Installer fails to format partition
I ran into this same exact issue and thermoman's workaround worked like a charm. [Bug 546933] Re: FFE: xorg.conf.d/inputclass backport
I agree that we want to avoid shipping an intermediate solution with udev rules if xorg.conf.d is the long-term solution. However, to the server, this will look equivalent to having an xorg.conf again, won't it? I know there have been significant behavior differences (and bugs) in the past between a server with no xorg.conf and one with an xorg.conf, even minimal. [Bug 551447] [NEW] sudo update-manager -c -d does not show beta
Public bug reported: I started upgrading from Karmic to Lucid using: sudo update-manager -c -d This alerted me to the availability of the Lucid beta. But after the first day of download attempts (it usually takes a while, nothing to worry about) this suddenly no longer showed the option to upgrade to Lucid. I'm guessing this is caused by the update-manager upgrade that happened at the beginning of the process. When I left out the "sudo" things went back to normal and I got the option to install the Lucid beta again. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: lucid-upgrade-testing -- sudo update-manager -c -d does not show beta https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/551447 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 532633] Re: [Master] Window Control buttons: position/order/alignment
I also feel a strong temptation to add another "why I don't like those buttons", but let me try differently: To me the problem seems to be, that ALL themes are affected by a decision meant for the new themes only. So I propose to fix this by changing the GLOBAL setting for button positions into a PER-THEME setting. And as the design team makes use of this setting, they would be responsible to convince people of Gnome to fix this. Apart from my interest on fixing this bug I am very pleased to see what happens in the Ubuntu community if freedom is in danger - even if it's only the freedom to choose button positions. I feel very comfortable among people who care about freedom and who care about details. Re: [Bug 550517] Re: mplayer doesn't use 'pulse' audio output by default
thanks for your information, I can now confirm and reproduce. This is actually a regression caused by the fact that I forgot to move the configuration file /etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf from mplayer-nogui -> mplayer. [Bug 550849] Re: Ubuntu One doesn't sync files
I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One is not working properly for you. If you would like to help debug the problem that would be greatly appreciated. You can do the following in order to provide important details that will help determine the root cause of this issue. 1) Quit the Ubuntu One client. Right-click on the Ubuntu One applet and select 'Quit' 2) Open Applications->Accessories->Terminal, then run the command: mv ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log_old && mkdir ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log 3) Run the following in the Terminal to open/create this file: gedit ~/.config/ubuntuone/syncdaemon.conf #Add the following two (2) lines to this file and save: [__main__] log_level = DEBUG 4) Open Ubuntu One Applications->Internet->Ubuntu One 5) Let Ubuntu One run for a while, copy some files into your Ubuntu One Folder. Then attach the following logs to this bug: ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/syncdaemon.log ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/syncdaemon-exceptions.log You can attach logs to this bug report by clicking the 'Add Attachment or patch' button at the bottom of the page.
