Hi Jeremy, Thanks for remind me about this bug. I'm really sorry not to update about this problem. [Bug 510505] Re: cdrecord has no permission to open the device
I've installed Ubuntu 9.10 for the second time one week ago and I've search some times why K3b displays this error message "Error trying to open /dev/sr1 exclusively (Device or resource busy)... retrying in 1 second" and can't start burning. [Bug 516329] Re: TouchPad buttons don't work on HP Mini 210 (1030NR)
This bug also applies to the HP Mini 210-1010NR model. Just to recap my own experience: Out of the box, the actual "buttons" (which are physically part of the pad area) don't work. To effectuate a click, one has to tap on the pad. Right click is very hard, as one has to tap on the lower right corner of the pad; it usually takes me a few tries. Two-fingered scrolling does not work, but edge scrolling does. This is my workaround: I discovered that by applying the following settings via synclient, I can achieve two-fingered scrolling, and a two- fingered tap will be interpreted as a right-click. (However, two- fingered scrolling is still a disabled option in gnome-mouse-mouse- properties.) This isn't a fix to this bug, but it might help people who are having trouble. This command will do it: synclient TapButton2=3 HorizTwoFingerScroll=1 VertTwoFingerScroll=1 EmulateTwoFingerMinZ=29 EmulateTwoFingerMinW=5 By the way, what is the "correct" way to apply these settings automatically at start up? Does one have to edit /usr/lib/X11/xorg.conf.d/* or is there a per-user way of applying these settings other than invoking synclient in .xinitrc? Hi! The bug exists in latest 10.4rc and upstream kernel. I think it is quite specific for this a1630 and it has something to do with network (manager/hardware): it loses the wireless options and it seems it hangs the system a bit (and when upstream kernel boot, it complains about memory problems) My computer is so old and I can live with it. I think it is waste of time to try to find this minor problem (if it is not a theoretically interesting :) The 10.4 seems quite nice! [Bug 525756] Re: Aspire 5315-2713 overheats shuts down using Ubuntu 9.10
I also have an travelmate 5315 that shuts down suddenly every now and then. The fan seems to work fine. Infact it is spinning continuous. The notebook starts to react slow and just powers off. I opened the laptop and replaced the thermal compound but it didn't fix the problem. Under system profiler, the TZ01 sensor reads 99 degrees celcius, but the status can only updated after reboot. After the reboot, the notebook functions fine for a while. -Computer- Processor : Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 530 @ 1.73GHz Memory : 1016MB (410MB used) Operating System: Linux Mint 8 Helena - Main Edition User Name : Date/Time : za 24 apr 2010 08:23:06 CEST -Display- Resolution : 1280x800 pixels OpenGL Renderer : Mesa DRI Intel(R) 965GM GEM 20090712 2009Q2 RC3 x86/MMX/SSE2 X11 Vendor : The X.Org Foundation -Multimedia- Audio Adapter : HDA-Intel - HDA Intel -Input Devices- Power Button Power Button Lid Switch Sleep Button Macintosh mouse button emulation AT Translated Set 2 keyboard MosArt Optical Mouse Video Bus PS/2 Mouse AlpsPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint HDA Digital PCBeep -Printers (CUPS)- Print_to_PDF -SCSI Disks- ATA Hitachi HTS54161 HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20N -- Aspire 5315-2713 overheats shuts down using Ubuntu 9.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/525756 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 569311] [NEW] Unable to sort by Artist then Song Name
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: banshee When you sort your music by the artist column, the album name is always used as the secondary sort field, followed by track number, even if those columns are not being shown. This makes the songs seem to be sorted randomly for each artist, since the song names are not taken into account by the sort algorithm. For example, with only the artist and track name columns showing, you would see the following: ARTIST | NAME Guns N' Roses | Patience Guns N' Roses | Don't Cry Guns N' Roses | November Rain That appears to be sorted incorrectly, and only seems ok when the other columns are also visible, example: ARTIST | ALBUM | NUMBER | NAME Guns N' Roses | G N' R Lies | 5 | Patience Guns N' Roses | Use Your Illusion I | 4 | Don't Cry Guns N' Roses | Use Your Illusion I | 10 | November Rain Perhaps Banshee should automatically ignore hidden columns when sorting, or maybe just allow the user to specify a sort variable, such as "%A - %T" to sort by artist then track name. I am using Banshee 1.6.0-1 on Lucid (pre-release), but I've noticed this since I started using Banshee, several releases back. ** Affects: banshee (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Unable to sort by Artist then Song Name https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/569311 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi, Sorry for the long reply. Yes, nothing's changed here. Suspend, both on-demand, and on-timer puts the PC into sleep mode. Only power button wakes it up (drives would start spinning again) but mouse (usb), keyboard (ps/2) are dead. The LCD also does not get any signal. From there only power button 5-second hold works (forced power off). This is with all lucid updates as of 4/23/10 10PST. apport-collect executed I am trying the upstream kernel...
