[Bug 625284] [NEW] 5 second delay between print jobs
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: cups In Ubuntu 9.10 and 10.04 (CUPS 1.3 and 1.4) when sending multiple print jobs there is a 5 second delay due to CUPS waiting for confirmation that the previous job was completed. This is fine but the documentation says that when using the AppSocket (JetDirect) protocol this behaviour can be disabled by using the 'waiteof' option appended to the device URI: $ lpadmin -p printername -u allow:all -E -v socket://192.168.0.1:9100?waiteof=false This backchannel wait time is supposed to be removed from CUPS version 1.4.4 (Ubuntu 10.10). [Bug 568492] Re: Fonts corrupted on Openoffice menus and Lotus Notes 8.5 with nvidia, compiz, twinview and subpixel smoothing.
Confirm this bug using Nvidia + TwinView + Compiz. Turning off Compiz makes the fonts appear nicely. [Bug 625294] [NEW] Unable to boot maverick daily images -- RAM not detected
Public bug reported: After installation on an IBM x3250 and an IBM x3650, the maverick daily images do not boot. With image 20100826 I receive the following message when trying to boot: It appears your computer has less than 277K of low (DOS) RAM. Syslinux needs at least this amount to boot. If you get this message in error, hold down the Ctrl key while booting, and I will take your word for it. Holding Ctrl does indeed allow the systems to boot and they seem to work correctly. [Bug 576531] Re: netdiscovery: relocation error segfault
I found part of the solution for the error netdiscovery: relocation error: /lib/libnss_files.so.2: symbol __rawmemchr, version GLIBC_2.2.5 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference I renamed the file /lib/libnss_files.so.2 like so: cd /lib mv libnss_files.so.2 libnss_files.so.2-64bit and created a link to the 32-bit version: cd /lib ln -s ../lib32/libnss_files.so.2 . Now I don't have a problem running the Samsung scanner. I'm guessing I will have problems now with other programs that do require the 64-bit version of libnss_files.so.2 So probably someone can come up with a solution to simply use the 32bit version for /lib32 without remove the 64-bit version. Then we should build our own routers with components that is certified for Linux. There are quite many of us that want such a thing so we should be able to finance it. It is a tough, and expensive business with razor thin margins. The only reason Apple has big margins is they have a lock on the hardware. The only way Linux could do the same is to break support for Dell, and the like. Not what I want. That all said, I will not buy anything for my company without good Linux drivers. We have more Windows desktops than anything, so why do I do this? Because I don't know if that desktop will ALWAYS run WinXP. I still have an old Visioneer Paperport scanner that has never been used. [Bug 625304] [NEW] Music control buttons can't be accessed through keyboard
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: indicator-sound The music control buttons aren't accessible though keyboard. What happens now: * When you navigate through the keyboard there is no position notificacion (when the music control has the focus, you don't have visual feedback), nothing is highlighted. * If you press left or right, it cycles through indicator menus. * If you press space, Previous button is activated. What should happen: * A mouseover visual feedback is needed for this to work. There is currently no mouseover effect at all. When you navigate through the keyboard the play/pause button should be highlighted. * If you press left or right, left or right buttons should be activated. Not highlighted, but activated. Anyone pressing left or right to highlight an option would press space afterwards, so let's make it simplier: only one keystroke needed. * If you press space, Play/pause button is activated. ** Affects: indicator-sound (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Music control buttons can't be accessed through keyboard https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/625304 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 625309] [NEW] iscsi hardware not detected for install
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: partman-iscsi When attempting to install the maverick daily image (in this case, 20100827) to systems with iscsi devices, the disk devices are not detected. In the partitioner, the only option available is Configure iSCSI volumes. When selected, the only available item is Log into iSCSI targets. Re: [Bug 625110] Re: Huawei EC1261 not working after update to usb-modeswitch
Bus 005 Device 022: ID 12d1:1446 Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. E1552 (HSPA modem) Okay. Then you have the 12d1:1446, which saw only minor changes within the usb- modeswitch-data package history (only the TargetProductList got altered). I guess that the problem is somewhere in usb-modeswitch. So it should work with any version of usb-modeswitch-data, but you experience non-working with usb-modeswitch 1.1.4 but working with 1.1.3 ? -- Didier Raboud, proud Debian Maintainer (DM). [Bug 625313] [NEW] alpha3 meerkat desktop livecd can't play DVD because it can't find the DVD source plugin
Public bug reported: When I insert a non-protected DVD, I'm offered to launch movie player to play it. When it starts up, it offers to search for a plugin, but that search fails to find the right plugin. I tried enabling the other repositories by hand first, and it still fails.
