[Bug 777656] [NEW] Overlay scrollbar handle covers Eclipse scrollbar markers
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: overlay-scrollbar The overlay scrollbar used in Ubuntu 11.04 causes problems with Eclipse scroll bar markers. When you reach for the scrollbar to click on a marker, the scroll handle pops up over the marker, efficiently making the markers unclickable. See the attached screenshot. The scrollbar markers in Eclipse are extremely useful. They allows the user to jump directly to an error in the code, a search result, etc. I can't work efficiently without this feature. Is there a way to disable the overlay scrollbars? ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: overlay-scrollbar 0.1.12-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-9.43-generic 2.6.38.4 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-9-generic i686 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Architecture: i386 Date: Thu May 5 10:27:30 2011 EcryptfsInUse: Yes PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=sv_SE:en PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=sv_SE.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: overlay-scrollbar UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to natty on 2011-05-03 (1 days ago) ** Affects: overlay-scrollbar (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 natty running-unity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/777656 Title: Overlay scrollbar handle covers Eclipse scrollbar markers -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client Long (translated) strings are not split in Ubuntu one client, so part of the message is not visible. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-media In 11.04, if you select a sound theme in gnome-volume-control, it isn't always remembered between sessions. It is a very strange bug. [Bug 777669] [NEW] Cannot click to highlight or interact with random files after upgrading to 11.04
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg Using the Ubuntu classic desktop and looking through my documents, pictures, music files and other files through xorg I noticed that in every directory there are now a few files that I cannot click on at all. To reproduce: - Click on Places at the bottom of the desktop, and open Documents, Music, Pictures, or any other place with a lot of files. - Click on each file, one at a time, and find that eventually you will run into a file that will not respond to left or right clicks (the file will not highlight when you click on it, nor will a context menu appear when you right-click on it). Usually there will be two files in a row that you cannot click on, or there will be one file that will only to, say, one out of every five clicks and a file right below it that will never respond to clicks. Sometimes opening a terminal window and renaming the unresponsive file (via the mv command) will make it responsive again. Rebooting x-windows (ctrl + alt + backspace) does not fix the problem. If one file is made to be responsive usually another will become unresponsive. Even when a file is unresponsive you can still highlight it using the arrow keys, and open it by hitting enter. The unresponsive files are no different in permissions, ownership or file types of the files in the same directory that are still responsive. I know this description may be hard to follow; a video of the behavior is included. [Bug 733349] Re: Minimize windows upon clicking application's launcher
+1 for the minimise function. Also, @MarkShuttleworth is wrong when he says clicking on the icon ALWAYS ensures you SEE the app.. e.g. If you elect to have windows focus when the mouse moves over them (very useful trad. GNU feature) then here's what happens: 1. You have -say- firefox open, but another window is covering all of it except perhaps a tiny left edge. You want to use firefox. 2. Unity Launcher is correctly displaying an indicator of the current Other App. You move your mouse over to the launcher intent on clicking the firefox icon, but on your way focus is given to firefox because you cross the edge of the window. By the time you arrive at the launcher, it thinks firefox has focus, so clicking on it does NOTHING. IMHO, clicking a unity launcher icon should not just FOCUS, but FOCUS and RAISE. That way, what Mark says, which I suspect the intended behaviour, will be true. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/733349 Title: Minimize windows upon clicking application's launcher -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 747309] Re: opening the dash should not desactivate the launcher
Just would like to add my tuppence. The launcher should be accessible when the dash is invoked, here are some scenarios:- 1. I am using the application lens and then decide I want to use the file lens instead. To do this currently, If I try to click the file lens icon in the launcher the dash closes and the launcher becomes active again, I then have to click a second time to invoke the lens... this seems clunky. 2. I would like to add some new apps to the launcher. So I find them using the application lens (let's say they are all internet apps) and begin to drag them to the launcher. However, as soon as I go to drag one, the dash closes... I guess to make the launcher active? This means to add the other apps I have to invoke the dash again and add them one at a time. It just seems strange to have the launcher visible but not available. I understand it needs to have less prominence, but it should certainly still be accessible. +1 for Mark's idea on re-saturation based on proximity. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/747309 Title: opening the dash should not desactivate the launcher -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 777661] Re: gnome-volume-control doesn't /always/ remember sound theme between sessions
I think I've found the problem. It seems that the settings aren't flushed to disk immediately, so if you log out quickly after changing a setting in gnome-volume-control, then it is forgotten. If you wait a couple of minutes after selecting sound theme before you log out, then it is remembered. But this is inconsistent with the rest of the dialog, because the volume selection in the same tab is remembered regardless. Steps to reproduce: 1) select a new sound theme in the preferences dialog. 2) log out immediately afterwards and log back in. 3) observe that the new theme is not remembered. 4) in the same tab in the dialog, set a new sound level 5) log out immediately and back in. 6) observe that the volume _is_ stored. 7) perform steps 1-6 again, but this time wait two minutes before logging out. 8) observe that everything works as expected. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/777661 Title: gnome-volume-control doesn't /always/ remember sound theme between sessions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
