[Bug 803858] Re: No language chooser on login screen in LightDM
@Gunnar, It seems the language chooser behavior is a bit strange. Below is my test steps on Beta1. 1. At Installation, select language: Simplified Chinese, and location: Taiwan. The assumption is many Chinese work in Taiwan , and vice versa, who usually prefer to see Simplified Chinese UI. 2. After installation, ran update manager, then updated language pack as usual. 3. I found the installed languages in language-selector was Taiwanese- Chinese-English which should be Chinese-Taiwanese-English, and the character of folder is in Traditional Chinese which should be in Simplified Chinese. [Bug 840679] Re: conflicting types in GLES2/gl2.h and GL/glext.h
Oh, hah! It's not directly a Qt problem. However, switching the Qt backend from desktop GL to GL ES in 4:4.7.3-4ubuntu1 is an ABI break, and since it's exposed in the Qt headers it's an API break, too. I'm not sure how the Qt maintainers want to deal with this, but I don't think there's anything to be done on the mesa side. ** Package changed: mesa (Ubuntu Oneiric) => qt4-x11 (Ubuntu Oneiric) ** Changed in: qt4-x11 (Ubuntu Oneiric) Assignee: Chris Halse Rogers (raof) => (unassigned) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/840679 Title: conflicting types in GLES2/gl2.h and GL/glext.h To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qt4-x11/+bug/840679/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 840679] Re: conflicting types in GLES2/gl2.h and GL/glext.h
I'm a bit surprised that Qt includes both GL/gl.h and GLES2/gl2.h in the same file. I wouldn't expect that to work; there's a large overlap in symbols. This clearly isn't built in the desktop Qt builds as there isn't anything ARM specific there. [Bug 840867] Re: flashplugin-installer : Depends: flashplugin-downloader
Well, as a 'workaround' there is always the native 64-bit flash player, which is now in beta. There is the sevenmachines ppa, or the flash-aid plugin for firefox. (I only recently heard about flash-aid, which does some sort of optimisation that has some embedded videos working that didn't work before - certain news sites with their own video players don't seem to work right with the 64-bit plugin otherwise. http://blog.mozilla.com/security/2011/09/02/diginotar-removal-follow-up/ says "DigiNotar issues certificates as part of the Dutch government’s PKIoverheid (PKIgovernment) program. These certificates are issued from a different DigiNotar-controlled intermediate, and chain up to the Dutch government CA (Staat der Nederlanden). The Dutch government’s Computer Emergency Response Team (GovCERT) indicated that these certificates are issued independently of DigiNotar’s other processes and that, in their assessment, these had not been compromised. The Dutch government therefore requested that we exempt these certificates from the removal of trust, which we agreed to do in our initial security update early this week. The Dutch government has since audited DigiNotar’s performance and rescinded this assessment. [Bug 602744] Re: LTSP client can not run local apps after server is shutdown before client logs out when /tmp is not cleared on next boot.
Just wondering if this has been fixed or if no one else has experienced it that it has not been changed in priority. Would be nice to at least see its status changed to confirmed even if it does no get assigned to someone to fix right away. Admittedly this would be low priority as it should rarely occur, but it could be a frustrating experience for a LTSP administrator that does not know about it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/602744 Title: LTSP client can not run local apps after server is shutdown before client logs out when /tmp is not cleared on next boot. [Bug 841541] [NEW] "num lock is on" warning remains even after num lock is turned off
Public bug reported: After fiddling with Num Lock, I noticed that the lock window claimed it was still enabled, and yet it is not. Sequence of events: * Turn on Num Lock. * Lock the screen. (On a ThinkPad, I do this by pressing Fn+F2. Whatever option it is that means "lock the screen immediately", I have it turned on.) * Tap a key to bring up the screen-locked/enter-password dialog. * Observe the warning. * Turn off Num Lock. * Observe the warning is still there. * Successfully unlock the screen. * Lock the screen again. * Observe the warning is still there. * [Optional] Unlock the screen. File a bug against gnome-screensaver. I tested it with the latest version on Oneiric and it works like expected. The pre-edit stuff appears in the search field, so you can see what you type. I tested with ibus-hangul (Korean), ibus-anthy (Japanese) and ibus-pinyin (Chinese). The difference you described is the following: in hangul, you compose the syllables out of letters, like you described. There is no ambiguity, each syllable is unique. Therefor ibus submits the syllable when it's complete. Means, either you press Space or Enter to signal that the syllable is complete, or you start typing a new syllable, where ibus knows that the last component you typed can't be part of the syllable you typed before and therefore must be part of a new syllable. In Japanese and Chinese however, things work differently. Since we type the pronunciation and each pronunciation can map to multiple characters (words), we need to choose which characters we want. The input engines nowadays are smart enough to select the correct characters for whole sentences, by context search. Therefore we type the complete sentence in the pre-edit phase and review if the engine has chosen the correct characters. We can go back with the arrow keys and correct any wrongly chosen characters. Only when we are satisfied we submit the whole string with either Enter or Space, depending on the input method. Hence, the scenario you described is expected. Nothing wrong with it. :) Cheers Arne -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iQIcBAEBCAAGBQJOZFMdAAoJENiwmJtstTzsDdEP/isDlCa/ys8L85SyZDu87HyP VgGDsICFCKG0ZNEqY+zqhfafbHUe7m56QFMPdslBkw4m9AZOOfYqG/XHWiTdwuD4 AGUeh5kuXDYfYOCaq6E7tEWu+nBYLLh8xMAe4/Qs8xUIGRhpx6iRgyyN6YmxAseZ wNlG7fPPn1PrzLX/VevdRnIRT7tO0khZnmQ2QPTQ0OocPFKK8iNKz2IxOVvjXo6F iaEAHdzL2QWTuyfVd9p5oHko3fyZKk/Ra0pVesBdXaXhrjWFuEh/2ws2iYJep8SA sIBjOSYRWtPyLO5EE1cC6w5WaX0O34GE+vEC3f7GWvKhODE9+FSYwFI/ycDedPXU 0x8/h7Z14vUuPZesTqeHGkvr+PZGQZWQyctYn55A/LdIiCkPL9glZoQ97mWH/r0n UweXW8MuodKjh5TibpFFgGHdWRggkwe0jsA68BSKGiAKxfgvAKN+1zVeWp6wc91f w9zPaTIFwlmyX01IflXAFGiUCqj3IJLKuRQzhSEGOXpF+AHVWJ13IkgACDyM+8e5 Xx1yMNRsRYpo1ZGTyhQbW+3Jk0hO+iw6pDRonKTzMemQbQcHpQZMzD/C1x524GLa ZExelmlT16IGe3wx00kfcjMjF7PiiVqVbeNM6ubxIYx4IGVp9zPk9DiYWzg4WsHZ CJnU8LxtieaxeK+J9mrU =pndd -END PGP SIGNATURE- -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/663776 Title: [dash] Search field in Unity can not support iBus To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ibus/+bug/663776/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 838256] Re: Update 'user-desktop.svg' with new version for Alt-Tab Show Desktop switcher
These are the 'user-desktop.svg' icons sent over by Rosie last week. These are the ones that were specified in the Unity Alt-tab designs and previously mocked up (in raster form): Rosie's raw SVG files finished with: 1. blur added (at 50% to get closer match to 20% specified) 2. background component added (xlink:href="file:///usr/share/backgrounds/warty-final-ubuntu.png") 3. cut up and saved (Note that these were already queued for upload). Somebody with a good visual overview of the default interface (eg. probably Otto Greenslade) needs to review Rosie's designs here against the ones that Daniel (Planas Armangue)'s has just done for 'user-desktop' and make a decision about which one(s) to go with if it needs changing. ** Attachment added: "user-desktop-rosie-with-background.zip" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/humanity-icon-theme/+bug/838256/+attachment/2355740/+files/user-desktop-rosie-with-background.zip -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/838256 Title: Update 'user-desktop.svg' with new version for Alt-Tab Show Desktop switcher To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/838256/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
