It does occur in ubuntu using gnome- shell but also when using unity. This is very critical bug, As gnome-alsamixer is the only remaining possibility to adjust audio cards input channels. Basic volumecontrol with pulse does not handle the input channels. Alsamixergui does not work anymore (only two channels) The terminal alsamixer does work. But is very unpractical in use. [Bug 851313] Re: Dash Minimize / Maximize / Close buttons are not very pretty
I'd argue for removing of these buttons, because Dash in technically not a window, but a dock or toolbar or something in this vein. It's also problematic, because when user opens Dash, the buttons to close/maximize Dash appear exactly at the same place where were the window buttons (if a window was open). It gives us two levels of window buttons (and Dash is partly transparent, if you remember) and is confusing. For consistency reasons, there shouldn't be window buttons on Dash. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/851313 Title: Dash Minimize / Maximize / Close buttons are not very pretty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/851313/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 873656] Re: usb-port don't works (don't see the 3g modem and usbdisk) Lenovo x100e
Hi Yavorovskiy Vladimir, Now I can find the issue from dmesg[1] in your CurrentDmesg.txt. It is probably caused by power over-consumption of your 3g modem and usb disk. The two devices are different interfaces inside a same usb configuration. If the modem and usb disk have their own power supply, please try to plug the power supply to see if there is still the issue. If the power supply still don't help the issue, please first enable usbmon[2] to start tracing the traffic, then plug your 3g modem plus usb disk. Finally, post the usbmon result to us. [Bug 876816] Re: Shotwell deletes edited photos after upgrading to oneiric 11.10
Hi Clint, thanks for the response. Actually the upgrade process did not delete the image. Also the images edited with an external editor (GIMP) were deleted. These images are stored with following name (german language): original.jpg becomes original_verändert.jpg in natty and in oneiric naming convention changed. edited photos are now saved as original_shotwell_verändert.jpg. So could be that changing the naming convention causes the edited photos to be deleted. But also the photos edited in shotwell (which are actually not saved as separate files) are reversed to the original version. My images are stored on a ntfs drive due to compatibility reasons with other operating systems. I will try to reproduce this, but meanwhile many of the natty-edited images are deleted and I do not know if I will find some none deleted files. I will send you the db file shortly. [Bug 769277] Re: Eclipse shows overlay scrollbar but when i hover there is no scroll handles
I like to mention something: Eclipse is such an important tool for software development. AND: it is also a platform for creating rich client apps. You won't even be able to know every app which uses eclipse as basis and therefore is affected by this bug. So I think this should be solved within the eclipse community that is responible for the GTK-bindings of the eclipse SWT-based GUI framework. I am developing java applications with e.g. spring source tools suite, that probably will never be part of any linux distribution and therefore ever will be affected by this bug ;) I am starting eclipse / sts with a wrapper like this: #!/bin/sh cd /local/share/springsource/sts-2.7.1.RELEASE/ export GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS=true export UBUNTU_MENUPROXY=0 export LIBOVERLAY_SCROLLBAR=0 ./STS I HAVE to use "export" . #41 helped me with the scrollbar problem Greets Axel -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/769277 Title: Eclipse shows overlay scrollbar but when i hover there is no scroll handles To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-scrollbar/+bug/769277/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 760131] Re: Power consumption raised significantly in natty
@Launchpad Janitor (janitor) wrote on 2011-10-25:#229 thanks a lot, however I did test the new kernel from natty-proposed, it does not solve the problem for me. It does marginally improve over 2.6.38-11.50, but it is still a major regression compared to 2.6.35-28.50. For me the problem is not only reduced battery life, but also increased cpu temperature (easily above 70C) which makes it difficult to work, and of course is not good for the cpu. I'm now running some extensive tests with powertop, discharging the battery completely, which will take some time, I'll post the results here asap. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/760131 Title: Power consumption raised significantly in natty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-release-notes/+bug/760131/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected compiz-0.9 needs-reassignment oneiric regression-update running-unity ubuntu ** Description changed: I have recently upgraded to 11.10 version (64 bit). The most common problem i am facing is unable to find my running apps during alt+tab combination. steps that i use to reproduce it: 1. open skype and login. 2. open some other apps like gchrome firefox etc.. 3. be on chrome and use alt+tab to switch to skype . Expected: skype should be shown and shud be navigatable to that app. actual: Skype is not shown on the list. if i minimize chrome manually then i can see skype. If i use the left navigation bar where skype is shown, and hit the skype icon it opens a fresh instance of skype instead of showing the logged in instance. and say if i log in skype says already instance is running. [Bug 879967] Re: I have downloaded the new unbuntu version today when i go to my personal account, i cannot see the task barr anymore but the task barr is available on the guest session
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Thanks! It would also help us if you could attach a screenshot of the problem. ** Package changed: nautilus (Ubuntu) => unity (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: unity (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/879967 Title: I have downloaded the new unbuntu version today when i go to my personal account, i cannot see the task barr anymore but the task barr is available on the guest session To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/879967/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 576980] Re: jruby ships prebuilt jar files in the orig tarball
This issue is resolved in 1.5.6-2 which has now synced from Debian. It currently fails to build from source because one of its dependencies (yecht) is also FTBFS as it can't find jruby (in multiverse). So its a bit circular. Approaches: 1) Promote current binary packaging to universe; build yecht and then build latest version of jruby 2) Demote yecht to multiverse; build yecht then jruby; promote both to universe. Unfortunately 1.5.6-2 also fails to build due to an invalid JAVA_HOME - I can also fix this up once its somewhere where it can see yecht. ** Changed in: jruby (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/576980 Title: jruby ships prebuilt jar files in the orig tarball To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/jruby/+bug/576980/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 882467] [NEW] Xorg freeze on Dell Latitude E6320 (intel graphics) when dockstation is used
Public bug reported: Since the last system update, X freezes systematically at boot when the laptop is docked on the dockstation. The laptop can boot ok when not docked. Docking it after boot and attempting to switch monitor also results in X freezing. The problem also occurred before the system update, but less systematically. I.e.: system booted ok even when docked, there were some seldom X freezes, sometimes upon re-docking the laptop after undocking, sometimes just during regular use. Before the update, when docking and switching monitor, the use of the "monitor preferences" applet often resulted in a freeze, but the use of the following command xrandr --output LVDS1 --off --output HDMI3 --primary --auto was more reliable and succeeded most of the times. After the upgrade this is not the case any more.
