[Bug 728953] Re: Nautilus hangs after copying a file on a sftp server

2011-11-14 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or
challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these
instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can
be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable
apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the
crash report you wish to submit.
If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with
'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is
the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed
to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug
/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

[Bug 873247] Re: 11.10 wintv-nova t regression

2011-11-14 Thread staedtler-przyborski
I'm sorry to tell that I can't verify if kernel 3.0.9 solves the
regression or not.

As the stick showed the same errors after installing kernel 3.0.9 as
mainline build, I've done a crosscheck with Ubuntu 11.04 (where the
stick always worked). Even there no frontend attached.

Seems the stick decided: Too many tests, better I stay dead. Don't know
if he died by ages, by accident or what ever.

But thanks to all involved trying to make it work.

[Bug 890261] [NEW] can not execute oem-config in a chrooted environment

2011-11-14 Thread Oliver Grawert
Public bug reported:

for live-build we would like to be able to add a user, passowrd,
hostname etc, to certain kinds of image builds. often someone writes a
custom script using useradd or adduser etc which then is run post image
build time ... given that we have established and well maintained
mechanisms to do these tasks in ubuntu it would be good to be able to
have a live-build option that installs oem-config at the end of a build,
applies a preseed file, executes oem-config in automatic mode to parse
the preseed file and apply the settings and in the end cleanly removes
oem-config and the pulled in dependencies.

currently oem-config execution inside a chroot fails in various places. for
implementing the above this needs to be fixed.
debug data will be added soon.

something later on changed it. I didn't really notice before as I never

[Bug 890262] [NEW] indicator-sound in xfce4-indicator-plugin option Sound configuration opens gnome specific app

2011-11-14 Thread Spayder26
Public bug reported:

indicator-sound for xfce4-panel (packaged in xfce4-indicator-plugin)
opens gnome-congrol-center sound instead of an xfce4 specific one
(like xfce4-mixer which has no pulseaudio specific options) or a more

Pressing Alt+F1 will take keyboard focus from the active application,
summon Launcher (if not visible already) and give it focus, which must
always highlight the BFB button first.

Pressing Alt+F1 with the Launcher focussed will make it give away focus
(back to application it stole it from). Launcher will slide out of view
should it be obstructing a window, or remain on screen is not (as is
usual behaviour).

Alt+F1 is essentially a toggle giving/releasing focus to the Launcher.

[Bug 497732] Re: Tar exited with error 512 () status

2011-11-14 Thread Jim Patterson
This seems to be a very nasty bug to me. Anyone installing backupc and
expecting a no hassle backup of 'localhost' will be in for a shock, as
the default tar arguments simply won't work under the default 'backuppc'
user. There will always be at least a few files that don't give world-
read access. What's worse is that backuppc will just keep trying to do
its first full backup, trashing performance on that pc.

Including --ignore-failed-read as a default argument to tar seems to be
a simple and effective fix. If users do want a full backup including
protected files and take steps to do so e.g. run as 'sudo', it will have
no effect.

[Bug 842413] Re: alt+f2 - can type, doing nothing

2011-11-14 Thread Gerry Boland
Hi Scott,
can you please give me a step-by-step of what is wrong? If I understand
correctly:

1. Press Alt+F2
2. You get Dash up with Run a command text entry box
3. You enter the part or all of an application name, e.g. gcalct for
gcaoctool
4. You press enter
5. gcalctool should appear.

What happens for you? What goes wrong?

[Bug 885983] Re: error: no such device: a6e9ac82-12c2-4c83-ac35-b7b29d8cc206

2011-11-14 Thread Alessandro Menti
It's a bit sad you have decided not to use Ubuntu again. Sorry about
your bad experience.

I'll try to reproduce the bug and, if it happens on my machine as well,
I'll try to isolate it so as to eliminate it in future Ubuntu versions.

Thanks for your input!

[Bug 890266] [NEW] pressing C for Copy in the context menu

2011-11-14 Thread maharaja
Public bug reported:

until some oneiric beta version, i was able to press c inside the
context menu to copy the currently selected text.

right now, there seem to be some hidden entries in the context menu and
i need to press c several times to highlight Copy.

how to reproduce:
1. open terminal
2. select some text
3. press the right mouse button to bring up the context menu
4. press c a couple of times to finally select the Copy entry.

[Bug 890271] [NEW] Timezone bug in event list for ICAL events

2011-11-14 Thread Ryan
Public bug reported:

For events from a web-served ICAL file, the dates show up correctly in
Evolution and in the indicator event list. Alarms also go off at the
correct time. But the indicator event list only shows events that are at
least 5 hours in the future. I am in EST timezone (-5h), so perhaps the
code to filter out events in the past does not taking the timezone into
account?

This only happens for events from my ICAL file. normal Evolution events
show up as expected.

[Bug 888762] Re: Hard hang on resume from suspend

2011-11-14 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Do you know if this issue happened in previous version of Ubuntu, or is
this a new issue?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? It
will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . If possible, please test
the latest v3.2-rcN kernel (Not a kernel in the daily directory). Once
you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-
testing' tag(Only that one tag, please leave the others). This can be
done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at
the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-
testing' text.

If this bug is fixed by the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream-KERNEL-VERSION'. For example, if kernel
version 3.2-rc1 fixed and issue, the tag would be: 'kernel-fixed-
upstream-v3.2-rc1'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Thanks in advance.

Works great with my logitech pro:

Hello. The problem is that the microphone is in the wrong sound rate by

 Code:
 gedit $HOME/.pulse/daemon.conf
and put the following line on the file:
 Code:
 default-sample-rate = 16000
save it, and then restart pulseaudio as a user with the following command

 Code:
 pulseaudio --kill pulseaudio --start
 This should solve the problem.

In fact, because of the global menu, the issue got even worse, now you
have to go to the top of of the screen to use a global menu.

[Bug 879305] Re: POP Leave messages on server now requires Days

2011-11-14 Thread Reda El Khattabi
I don't think delete after 0 days means don't delete : Actually it means
delete immediately.
A normal user (one that is not a programmer and/or doesn't read launchpad
bugs), may not even think about giving a zero value, even I wasn't sure if it
would work (or instantly delete all the messages from my company's server)
I think there sould be a checkbox (at least visually, the checkbox can still
store a 0 value internally)

[Bug 887915] Re: ubuntuone.SyncDaemon.ActionQueue - WARNING - Connection lost: [('SSL routines', 'SSL23_READ', 'ssl handshake failure')]

2011-11-14 Thread Natalia Bidart
Hello all!

The ('SSL routines', 'SSL23_READ', 'ssl handshake failure') error means
there was a problem when connecting to the servers. Sycndaemon will try
to reconnect automatically, so there is nothing to worry about.

Last Friday we had an issue in our servers where syncdaemon was not able
to connect for a couple of hours, but that is fixed now.

Closing this bug report as Invalid.
