[Bug 918050] [NEW] SUM() does not add up range, but retains cached value
Public bug reported: I was sent a spreadsheet document with a cell range containing numbers, and a cell containing a SUM formula. The SUM is not working as it should. It seems to retain a value from a previous sum calculation. You can copy and paste the cell range and the issue persists. Also, if you write a new fomula with SUM on the same sheet, the problem is re- produced. If you copy to a new sheet the issue persists, but if you copy to a new document the issue resolves itself, and the SUM works correctly. I do not know how to re-produce the issue from a clean document - it only seems to be an issue in the document I was sent. Unzipping the document, and finding the cell in the content.xml file, this is the XML data for the cell in question. 260 Steps to reproduce: 1. Open attached sheet 2. make SUM formula to add up some cells in column above the formula cell 3. change the values of the cells in the specified range Expected behavior: the formula cell will update Observed behavior: the formula cell does not update ** Affects: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/918050 Title: SUM() does not add up range, but retains cached value To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/918050/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 917896] Re: resolvconf no longer honors resolv.conf.d/base
This is not a bug but a feature. When a loopback address is one of the nameserver addresses then no further nameserver addresses are listed in /etc/resolv.conf. The reasons for this are as follows. First, it is not normally useful to list any nameserver addresses after a loopback address. A (caching) nameserver on the local machine is always available, so no fallback is needed. Second, resolvconf has to tell libc resolver clients that resolv.conf has changed every time it changes. If only the loopback address is listed then resolv.conf doesn't change when other interfaces are downed and upped --- so resolver clients don't have to be notified or restarted. In order to disable this feature, create a /etc/default/resolvconf file with the following content: TRUNCATE_NAMESERVER_LIST_AFTER_LOOPBACK_ADDRESS=no See resolvconf(8) for more information. Also significant for you may be the fact that since version 1.60 resolvconf includes dynamic nameserver information *before* information from the base file. In earlier versions the order was reversed. See Debian bug report #64 (http://bugs.debian.org/64) for the discussion that led up to this change. Material that should precede dynamic and "base" material in resolv.conf should be placed in /etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d/head. -- Thomas Hood Debian resolvconf maintainers ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #64 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=64 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/917896 Title: resolvconf no longer honors resolv.conf.d/base To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/resolvconf/+bug/917896/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 832483] Re: Toshiba R835-P56X - screen brightness control does not work after suspend/resume
I've got the same issue on the Toshiba Tecra R840. I looked at the following thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1550219 and there was a fix which involved using toshset to turn the backlight on after adjusting the levels. When typing "toshset -bl on" into the terminal after adjusting the levels as required, the backlight will subsequently change to that level. Its a temporary fix, but better than nothing. There are also a couple of scripts at the bottom of the page that allow you to bind the brightness- up down keys to the command. However, it doesn't allow gnome/KDE power managers to control the backlight. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/832483 Title: Toshiba R835-P56X - screen brightness control does not work after suspend/resume To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/832483/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

("Why do I have multiple Ubuntus now?" / "Why keep these old versions if there is a newer one?") - The memory test entries are not useful most of the time, but still very visibly clutter the boot menu and make it more tedious to select the secondary operating system entries beneath them. - The Windows entry has a "(loader)" suffix appended which seemingly signifies that it boots from a separate boot partition (as is the default case for Windows Vista and 7), but is absolutely needless information to the user. Ideally, the menu would look something like this: Ubuntu 12.04 Ubuntu 12.04 (recovery mode) Windows 7 or, including the second newest kernel version: Ubuntu 12.04 Ubuntu 12.04 (recovery mode) Ubuntu 12.04 (last known good) Windows 7 ** Affects: grub (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/918041 Title: Default GRUB menu entries are overly technical To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub/+bug/918041/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 918035] [NEW] adduser not working with nis
Public bug reported: I have installed NIS on our servers (Ubuntu Server 10.04.3, all updates installed). Everything is working fine, except for one thing. I added "nis" in /etc/pam.d/common-password: password [success=1 default=ignore] pam_unix.so obscure sha512 nis Users can now change their passwords on any machine using passwd in the usual way. This works fine. The problem arises if I try to change passwords for root or for a user as root. passwd asks for "NIS server root password:", but at that point I have to enter the root or the users(!) password, depending on which password I try to change. So I am not able to change passwords as root if I don't know the users password. In addition, if I try to add a user with adduser, it is not possible to set the users password at all. At the stage where passwd is executed an entry for the new user in /etc/shadow exists, but is disabled with a "!" in the password hash field. It seems that nothing works for "NIS server root password:". Public bug reported: When I open the Banshee program it lists pieces of music which it cannot play. It cannot play them because the partition which contains the music is not mounted. Banshee simply displays contents of its internal database without checking if Banshee can play these pieces of music. The user is perplexed that the name of a piece of music is displyed but Banshee cannot play it. He has to to call the Track Editor > File Size: and look for "-1" to find that the music partition is not mounted. I expect that Banshee only shows the names of pieces of music which it actually can play by pressing the butten »Play current element«. [Bug 873409] Re: Ubuntu 11.10 luks+lvm+btrfs install fail
I "upgraded" from 10.04 to 11.10 -- really a fresh install, preserving only the /home and /boot partitions, and reformatting /var and / as btrfs. So here's my disk setup: /boot 152Mb as ext4 swap LVM with Group1--Root (6.6G/btrfs) Group1--Home (23G/ext4) Group1--Var (2.4G/btrfs) I got through the install no problem, but am now seeing problems when I try to upgrade linux kernel headers using the Update Manager: linux-headers-generic: Depends: linux-headers-3.0.0-14-generic but it is not installed and, at the suggestion of Update Manager, I run "apt-get install -f", and I get: dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/linux-headers-3.0.0-14-generic_3.0.0-14.23_amd64.deb (--unpack): unable to install new version of `/usr/src/linux-headers-3.0.0-14-generic/include/config/mfd/timberdale.h': No space left on device No apport report written because the error message indicates a disk full error I have 113M free on /boot (pretty sure /boot is not involved) and 2.4G free on the root partition. Have not tried the workarounds mentioned by Jan. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/873409 Title: Ubuntu 11.10 luks+lvm+btrfs install fail To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/debian-installer/+bug/873409/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
