[Bug 1004793] Re: deluge-console hangs/freezes when commands passed on command line
This is a limitation in deluge console; you cannot connect to a remote console and pass a command. Passing multiple commands to the localhost console works fine it is just when attempting to use connect the problem will arise. I will create a bug ticket on our bug tracker to fix this. [Bug 1005120] [NEW] Windows Installer and User Account
Public bug reported: I tried resolving this issue in post: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1986531 and re-iterated below: I followed the installation instructions at: http://www.ubuntu.com/download/help/...u-with-windows In Step 3 it states ...To install Ubuntu, all you need to do is choose your user name and password... so I entered a username [not equal to Administrator as shown and set to gmseed] and password. However, when I complete installation and reboot the m/c I'm faced with either logging on as Administrator or Guest Session. I found this very confusing. You may view this as not a bug but if a user enters a username such as gmseed they expect it to be listed at startup. Also, it's using my gmseed user account password as the Administrator password. I've not continued with this issue because of another bug of the CPU fan continually overruning, which I've also logged as a bug. Thus, I've not had a enjoyable Ubuntu installation experience and forced to revert to Win7. [Bug 352732] Re: Sound muted after boot
Minor correction: In my previous comment I erroneously wrote /etc/init/alsa-{re}store.conf instead of /etc/init/alsa-{re}store. In the meantime I commented out the load-module module-device-restore line in /etc/pulse/default.pa according to #77. Unlike for others it didn't fix the issue for me. It's also important to mention that sometimes the volume level gets restored correctly and other times it doesn't so this issue seems too be non-deterministic. At this point I'm not sure what the culprit is. Given that alsactl gets called by Upstart this seems like it's an ALSA issue but PulseAudio related tweaks resolved this issue for some which suggests me that it may be a PulseAudio issue. I've just reported https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa- bug/view.php?id=5586 to the ALSA bugtracker. ** Bug watch added: ALSA Bug Tracker #5586 https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/view.php?id=5586 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/352732 Title: Sound muted after boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/pulseaudio/+bug/352732/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1005123] [NEW] Laptop Fan Running Continually
Public bug reported: Hi I tried resolving this issue in post: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1986556 but was unsuccessful. My post also refers to the other post: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1986593 Also, after a bit of Googling I see several people experience this issue. About 2 years ago when I purchaed my previous VAIO laptop I tried installing a previous version [8-10; can't quite remmeber asa few years ago] of Ubuntu and had the same problem and as I see it's not been resolved 2 years later I thought I'd take the time to log it. I view this as a critical bug as it forces me to revert to using Win7 as I'm not going to sit using my laptop for 8 hrs/day listening to a cpu fan overruning. I also note that Ubuntu is not as responsive as I'd expect for an i5 processor. Clearly, when I upgrade this laptop I'm going to have to consider using a non-Sony laptop or Dell or spend some time doing research into laptops supported/recommended by Ubuntu or use a desktop instead.
