[Bug 1091986] Re: ulatencyd causes random kernel crashes during boot
Additional info: once the system is running, I can remove the exit 1 from /etc/init.d/ulatencyd and then start ulatencyd process so this seems to be some kind of race condition in the kernel. Some crashes have kernel watchdog messages saying Watchdog detected hard LOCKUP on cpu 1 (sometimes the LOCKUP was on cpu 0). Is it possible that the ulatencyd gets started before the system is running on both cores (this system has dual core processor) and kernel crashes with some feature that ulatencyd uses if all CPUs are not yet up? Perhaps this really is a kernel bug that is triggered by ulatencyd? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1091986 Title: ulatencyd causes random kernel crashes during boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ulatencyd/+bug/1091986/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1092000] [NEW] iPhone 4GS not recognized by Linux Mint 10
Public bug reported: I have followed the advice of several authors on various Linux supported sites and my computer states Unble to mount Brian Hess's iPhone even though the icon for the phone appears in my folders on the desktop. If I click on the icon it gives me Unhanded Lockdown Error (-4) Following the advice of several sites, I made sure that I followed the steps to update, upgrade, and install all of the needed components to make the device work. I think that the iOS 6 is causing the issue and that the newest libararies for libimobiledevice are not up-to-date to run the interface. So even though the phone is recognized for picture support, it will not function for music. [Bug 182101] Re: Bluetooth light comes on but I don't think I have blue tooth.
Instead of opening a new report I try to add my report here as it seems to be the closest match I can get. After upgrading to kernel 3.5.xxx (Kubuntu 12.10), I have ... probably ... the same symptom. It's described in detail here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bluez/+bug/1072118 but I repeat for convenience: The described behaviour is only visible, when shutting down with bluetooth disabled. sudo /etc/init.d/bluetooth restart get's the applet catch the right state and back working. If I reboot the laptop of with bluetooth enabled, it will come up the next time working. Working means the status is correctly recognized by the Kubuntu applet and bluetooth is working. If I disable Bluetooth, the hardware display on the laptop remains lit. In Kubuntu 12.04, the display went off. However, the device is properly unpowered, as it saves 4 Watts (checked with meter). After reboot, the state is correctly remembered, that means the device is unpowered (the hardware indication is still lit btw.) However, the bluetooth icon in panel will recognize the adapter as powered. Unpowering has no effect and doesn't work: If I choose unpower in the applet, simply nothing happens, it remains thinking it is still powered, while it is unpowered. In other words, there is not way to power bluetooth with the applet. service bluetooth stop service bluetooth start will not bring bluetooth back ... it will remain unpowered and the applet thinking it is powered. However, issuing sudo hciconfig hci0 reset WILL power bluetooth AND the applet back working, so that it can be powered / unpowered. So I think the bluetoothd stack doesn't recognize the unpowered adapter, yet correctly remains it unpowered (state keeps preserved). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/182101 Title: Bluetooth light comes on but I don't think I have blue tooth. [Bug 1044322] Re: indicator-messages-service crashed with assert in g_menu_exporter_name_vanished()
This becomes more urgent to release now that banshee was accidently released into quantal-updates with a dependency on this newer glib. Given the sheer number though, and the absence of any way to programatically query the error tracker, I can only hope to look at a tiny fraction manually. This bug was fixed in the package postgresql-9.1 - 9.1.7-0ubuntu12.04 --- postgresql-9.1 (9.1.7-0ubuntu12.04) precise-proposed; urgency=low * New upstream bug fix release: (LP: #1088393) - Fix multiple bugs associated with CREATE INDEX CONCURRENTLY. Fix CREATE INDEX CONCURRENTLY to use in-place updates when changing the state of an index's pg_index row. This prevents race conditions that could cause concurrent sessions to miss updating the target index, thus resulting in corrupt concurrently-created indexes. Also, fix various other operations to ensure that they ignore invalid indexes resulting from a failed CREATE INDEX CONCURRENTLY command. The most important of these is VACUUM, because an auto-vacuum could easily be launched on the table before corrective action can be taken to fix or remove the invalid index. - Fix buffer locking during WAL replay. The WAL replay code was insufficiently careful about locking buffers when replaying WAL records that affect more than one page. This could result in hot standby queries transiently seeing inconsistent states, resulting in wrong answers or unexpected failures. - See HISTORY/changelog.gz for the other bug fixes. * Drop 00git_ecpg_array_bounds.patch, fixed upstream. -- Martin Pitt martin.p...@ubuntu.com Mon, 10 Dec 2012 14:54:49 +0100 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1088393 Title: New bug fix releases: 9.1.7, 8.4.15, 8.3.22 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/postgresql-8.3/+bug/1088393/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1092058] [NEW] VM boots from Hard Disk instead of USB host device
Public bug reported: I created a bootable USB stick on my host. Then I tried to boot it inside one of my VMs using virt-manager. What happened: 1) There is no easy way to select a USB disk in the boot order from Boot Options 2) In Boot Options, enabling Enable Boot menu makes it possible to press F12 and this should give easy access to a connected hosts USB device. Unfortunately the device does not show up in this menu (see attached). What was expected: -Boot options should show the USB device -F12 should show the USB device Slightly related to https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=812134 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10 Package: virt-manager 0.9.3-1ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.5.0-17.28-generic 3.5.5 Uname: Linux 3.5.0-17-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.6.1-0ubuntu9 Architecture: amd64 Date: Wed Dec 19 05:41:56 2012 InstallationDate: Installed on 2012-12-06 (13 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal - Release amd64 (20121017.5) MarkForUpload: True PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: virt-manager UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: qemu-kvm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: virt-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug quantal running-unity ** Attachment added: virt_bootmenu.png https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1092058/+attachment/3463810/+files/virt_bootmenu.png ** Also affects: qemu-kvm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1092058 Title: VM boots from Hard Disk instead of USB host device To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu-kvm/+bug/1092058/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
