[Bug 1104131] Re: Interface isn't totally translated to spanish

2013-01-26 Thread Adolfo Jayme Barrientos
I was wondering if these are the only strings in English you see? I
think these may be the actual names of the folders in the mail server,
and the app is only reflecting that. Anyway, this bug should be
forwarded to the relevant Mozilla l10n team, as the Ubuntu translators
don't manage Thunderbird's translations.

[Bug 1026254] Re: Open with on folders was removed, Ubuntu should consider patching back

2013-01-26 Thread Doug McMahon
Now that Ubuntu is going with 3.6.x in 13.04 some re-consideration could be
given to returning this, reasonably non-invasive & simple to patch back.
The idea that folders should only be opened from nautilus with nautilus is a
bit shortsighted.

[Bug 36225] Re: Nautilus Crashes

2013-01-26 Thread Tim
Vivek, This looks to be a completely different bug than the original bug
report here, you would be better off filing a new bug report for your
issue.

Also a backtrace with debug symbols would be infinitely more helpful,
easiest way is to submit via crash dialog from apport.

Re:[Bug 1103046] Re: failed to upgrade app_A via Software Centre if there is app_B depends on app_A

2013-01-26 Thread nickwang
Hi,

I want to explain the scenario below in case it brings any confusion. Please
see blue.
Scenario:
1) install app_A
I installed app_A by double-clicking the .deb file I got on local machine
2) install app_A_patch that depends on app_A
I got another .deb that can patch app_A, which I named it 'app_A_patch'. If you
run 'sudo dpkg -l | grep app_' , you will see two records -- 'app_A' and
'app_A_patch' both installed.
3) install new version app_B ( the .deb file is on local and user tyies to
double-click it to do upgrading)
Now I have a new version of app_A (it should not be named app_B, maybe just NEW
app_A here)
4) Software Center pop-ups and gives prompt that "Breaks existing dependency
.." and upgrading failed
I assumed Software Center could install new app_A for me. I can choose to
upgrade the app_A_patch later or uninstall it if I want. Dpkg could do this for
me whereas Software Center can't.

Best Regards
Nicholas

Re:[Bug 1103046] Re: failed to upgrade app_A via Software Centre if there is app_B depends on app_A

2013-01-26 Thread nickwang
Hi Matthew ,
Thank you for your response !
I mean I double clicked the .deb files on local machine, then Software Center
will pop-up and take up the install/upgrading process, right ?

The Software Center seems to do dependency checking first located in
/var/info/dpkg/status. The install will fail if other app depends on app_A.
The scenario is as below and hope it helps.
1) install app_A
2) install app_A_patch that depends on app_A
3) install new version app_B ( the .deb file is on local and user tyies to
double-click it to do upgrading)
4) Software Center pop-ups and gives prompt that "Breaks existing dependency
.." and upgrading failed

I wonder why I can use dpkg tool to do upgrading, like 'sudo dpkg -i app_B' and
seems dpkg can handle the dependency stuff and do upgrading for me. Thanks
again !

Best Regards
Nicholas

[Bug 1098827] Re: Deluge doesn't stay in the same workspace when a magnet link is clicked in a browser

2013-01-26 Thread Pellaeon Lin
Thanks for providing information on how other applications handle this
situation. I agree that the Thunderbird way is more suitable. And it is
also good to keep UI behavior consistent with other applications. I have
modified the bug description.

** Description changed:

Deluge window is opened in workspace 2, Firefox window is in workspace
1, when clicking a magnet link in Firefox, a Deluge "Download" dialog
popped up in workspace 1, after comfirming the "Download" dialog, the
Deluge window is moved to workspace 1. This also happens when using
  Chromium browser.

Release: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS (unity desktop)
  Deluge version: 1.3.5-0ubuntu2~precise2

- What you expected to happen: one of these two:
- (1) Unity automatically switches to workspace 2, and show the "Download"
dialog. The Deluge window stays in workspace 2.
- (2) "Download" dialog pops up in workspace 1, after confirming, Unity
switches to workspace 2.
+ What you expected to happen:
+ Display the "Download" dialog on the active workspace while the application
remains in another.

  What happened instead:
Deluge opened up in workspace 1.

[Bug 330688] Re: Hidden files are not added with directory

2013-01-26 Thread hrjet
To add to my previous point, at the OS level there is no concept of a
hidden file.

It is only a convention followed by shells to hide files which begin
with a period (.), so as to not spam directory listings. This should be
irrelevant to a DVD burner application which used often to create
backups.

[Bug 1101666] Re: inotify fd leak

2013-01-26 Thread Dan Kegel
I may be suffering from this. I'm on Ubuntu 12.04, uname says
3.2.0-36-generic-pae #57-Ubuntu,
# tail -f /var/log/syslog
complains
tail: inotify cannot be used, reverting to polling: Too many open files
and (oddly) dbus-daemon is using 79% of CPU according to top, and 17% according
to ps.
This is on a desktop with three users logged into it; my son complained of
slowness during minecraft.
Don't know how repeatable it is yet.

[Bug 1085751]

2013-01-26 Thread Jean-François Fortin Tam
I don't think I have the knowledge to build (and git bisect!) my own
driver, however there is some additional clue I can give from
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=883536 :

the issue does not seem to be strictly related to suspend & resume. It
is very easy to trigger the problem in Fedora 18 by booting up to the
GDM login screen, switching to another virtual terminal by pressing
ctrl+alt+F3, then trying to switch back to GDM by doing ctrl+alt+F1.

[Bug 1029255] Re: Chromium has serious error, slows down...

2013-01-26 Thread isaac
same problems 3 time a day. it happens mostly during opening new tabs,
from within a web page, for a popup new window to new tab. You can see
the hard disk light keeps showing the disk swapping status. I suspect
its the problem of cache though I have delegate some RAM for faster
caching.

It refers to where /packaging/ is maintained, not the upstream source.

An alias provided to conveniently locate a mirror by geography. APT
reports the configured name of the host, not the canonical name.

[Bug 1078245] Re: In Asus N56VZ screen keeps dimming itself

Happens to me too in xubuntu. It dims to lowest brightness.
I circumvented this problem by disabling automatic brightness reduction in Xfce

My guess is that there are calculation problems in the percentage of dimming
level. Are there any logs we can provide to help troubleshoot this issue?

select a game to install
select a location on a new drive to create a steam install location
select folder for installation (corruption appears where the confirmation

[Bug 1003633] Re: Escape plus character in apt HTTP requests to work around Amazon S3 bug

2013-01-26 Thread Darik Horn
This non-conformance bug works in both directions, so an easy kludge is
to hard link all file names like this:

$ ln foobar-1.2+baz3_all.deb  'foobar-1.2 baz3_all.deb'

And sync to the s3 bucket normally. Afterwards, the key can be called
through http with a literal "+" character or the "%2B" escape. Most
clients like `apt-get` and `wget` will write out a file with the correct
name using either form in the URL.

[Bug 1076830] Re: panel crashes if you add, remove, then add the same applet

I ran some tests and found that this happens iff the gnome-panel is
configured with "--in-process-applets=all" and presumably only happens
with the default applets included with gnome-panel itself.

[Bug 1106519] [NEW] dconf-service crashed with SIGSEGV in g_variant_builder_add_value()

2013-01-26 Thread Kevin John Panzke

This error popped up right after Clean Installing 13.04, however it is
DIFFERENT FROM BUG REPORT 1105102, because it was NOT a VM Installation
and is Build 20130126 NOT 20130125, and the Installer was started by
Booting to the DVD and Selecting Replace Raring Ragnal with 13.04, NOT a
live session, and i did NOT select Manual Partitioning Either, it was
all AUTOMATIC. Just FYI.

[Bug 1106520] [NEW] Update Manager should allow user to pick which update should be listed as Package name or Description

2013-01-26 Thread Nate Muench (Mink)
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 13.04

I'm trying to think of the best way to describe this.

Currently, Update Manager displays updates by their package's
description. I would like the ability to show updates as package name.

I think the options should be something like:
-Description
-Package Name (or just Name)
-Both

Obviously, the group name should stay as description. I just referring
to everything below each one.
