[Bug 1120996] [NEW] OpenShot Video Editor disappears after minimizing
Public bug reported: I am testing Ubuntu Release 13.04 (raring) 32-bit Kernel Linux 3.8.0-5-generic GNOME 3.6.2. (I am using Unity, not Gnome) While I was using OpenShot 1.4.3 I minimized it for a while. When i wanted to maximize the window, I could not find the minimized OpenShot 1.4.3. On clicking on the icon, it would open a new project. I checked the Processes in System monitor and the minimized project was still running. I then logged out and logged back in. [Bug 974480] Re: Notification area whitelist is obsolete
@Cliff I'm not saying Canonical have to please everyone. I say a complitly different thing. You need to listning to Costumers. Look someone says in the first post this: If the whitelist was retired, Java and Wine would be hard-coded as the only software still able to use the menu bar as if it was a notification area, because their developers don't necessarily know that Ubuntu even exists. The question is: Way this developers are different from the others? More someone say that the tools they need to port is not ready to they can port to GTK3. Soo way changing something that, for now can, put people of Ubuntu vision? About Canonical vision whats is missing their? - They whant to make Ubuntu TV (cool) - They want to make UbuntuPhone OS (Cool) For my business, the Ubuntu Phone OS, is going to be a interesting tool, if we solve the porting of programs need to our business. How many accounting programs exist for Linux? How many ERPS exist for Linux? For me, is more important to mantain costumers, listning to them, try to help them, and try to find partners that want to port the specific programs to Ubuntu. If not, in my humble opinion, is going to be another OS. To resume everithing: - I understand that they don't have to mantain this legacy software, but, some software can't, for now be ported, so, why don't wayt for a little more time, and when the tools that are needed to port are complited then do the moving, - Start thinking more about whats is missing in the vision, in a global view. - Do not tray to imitate some other OS, we are talking about Ubuntu OS, not OSX or other OS. [Bug 963736] Re: thunderbird freezes at random : must be killed and reload
I'm seeing this frequently on both a desktop and a laptop running Kubuntu 13.04 (Alpha 1) with KDE 4.10.00. Thunderbird version is currently 17.0.2. This seems to happen after leaving Thunderbird running in the background for several hours checking mail but not otherwise using the program. Whether the freeze occurs when Thunderbird is checking mail I can't say but the freeze has happened frequently enough for me to search for and add to existing bug reports. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/963736 Title: thunderbird freezes at random : must be killed and reload To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thunderbird/+bug/963736/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1046675] Re: macbook air 4, 1 trackpad does not work on upgrade to quantal from precise
Clint, I ahve made a adaption of the summary. You have written from quantal to precise. Regarding to the headline I have seen this as twist and changed it to from precise to quantal. Please have a check if this is correct. I also add a regression-release, because as you have written in precise all was working and the following xservers in quantal and raring are doing not their job anymore. ** Tags added: regression-release -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1046675 Title: macbook air 4,1 trackpad does not work on upgrade to quantal from precise To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1046675/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1072082] 046d:c52b Problems using Logitech Unifying Receiver
bob@bobDell:/$ # Launchpad Short Description: 046d:c52b Problems using Logitech Unifying Receiver bob@bobDell:/$ # Launchpad Long Description: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1072082 Commit that caused the regression 534a7b8e10ec55d9f521e68c20dbb3634c25b98a. I recently purchased a new Logitech K350 keyboard (UK layout) and M505 mouse, both of which use the Logitech Unifying Receiver. I 'paired' the keyboard and mouse to the receiver by using the proprietary Logitech 'Setpoint' software on a friend's computer running Windows XP. On their computer, the receiver, keyboard and mouse worked perfectly. I then moved the receiver to my own computer, a new Dell Inspiron 7520 SE running under Ubuntu 12.04.1. I tried with no success to get the keyboard and mouse to work by repeatedly unplugging and re-plugging the receiver, and by re-booting the machine. I experimented with solutions posted on the web, in particular in this thread on Ask Ubuntu (http://askubuntu.com/questions/128345/logitech-m515-does-not-work-after-upgrade-to-12-04/202627#202627). The accepted answer did not solve my problem. WORKAROUND: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1072082/+attachment/3415472/+files/mousefix running this workaround script on the command line enabled the receiver. I added the script to crontab as suggested. The script does not cause the receiver to work after a reboot, but I found that a single unplug/replug cycle was now sufficient to restore operation of the keyboard and mouse. RE: [Bug 901252] Re: atoi segfaults if the auxiliary vector was empty
I'm not sure how intentionally corrupting the stack with a debugger to cause a segfault constitutes a glibc bug... Setting the auxiliary vector to empty is not really corrupting it. You just need to ask yourself whether you consider it acceptable for the C library to segfault when presented with an empty auxiliary vector as input. Perhaps you do, in which case this behaviour isn't a bug. On the other hand, if you think the C library should be able to cope more elegantly with an empty auxiliary vector then my report provides evidence that something is not working as it should. Your choice. I don't claim that my technique for demonstrating the problem constitutes a bug. By all means go ahead and demonstrate the problem by patching the kernel instead, if you prefer. Or perhaps you could demonstrate it with valgrind. Or perhaps you're not interested in glibc bugs that do not affect the normal use of glibc on Linux. I don't really know who you are and what your area of interest is. -- IMPORTANT NOTICE: The contents of this email and any attachments are confidential and may also be privileged. RE: [Bug 901252] Re: atoi segfaults if the auxiliary vector was empty
Perhaps I should mention the keyword locale here. It seems pretty clear that the segfault is caused by strtol_l_internal receiving a null pointer as its locale argument. So the C library start-up code, when presented with an empty auxiliary vector, is silently failing to initialise the locale. Perhaps this is a simple oversight, or perhaps there's a good reason why it's hard to set up a locale without certain information from the auxiliary vector. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. In what way don't the drivers work? Please be more specific. At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Thanks! ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1121074 Title: drivers doenst work proprely To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1121074/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
