It is not about blas but atlas (libblas is just a symlink). You should rebuild atlas for your system. By default, Debian (and therefor Ubuntu) are shipping a low performance compilation of atlas. [Bug 1096289] Re: Qt apps often fail to start from file manager
I would like to confirm that I am seeing a similar bug with Qt programs. In my case I am not using Okular or Texworks, but Qt Creator exhibits this behavior when launching from the main menu, and my own custom Qt program also exhibits the behavior when launched from within Qt Creator itself and when launched from the file manager. As Alexei noted, it never occurs when launching from a terminal, and only intermittently occurs when launched from within the GUI. Qt Creator may open successfully some number of times and then the next time it hangs without showing a window and has to be killed from a terminal. I can't seem to find any logged messages indicating that something is going wrong. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1096289 Title: Qt apps often fail to start from file manager To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qt4-x11/+bug/1096289/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1119256] Re: rails: CVE-2013-0333: Vulnerability in JSON Parser
Hi all, I am not sure why there is so little progress here. The patch I attached is the one mentioned in debian bugtracker, and I provided the link in my initial report. Also, I tried to build a new package containing the patch for myself - which was rather easy, since I only had to adjust changelog, control and put the patch to the right location. After that, dpkg-buildpackage worked really well. So I wonder If I can do anything else to get that patch into official ubuntu repositories? It has been two weeks ago that this news message raised my attention: http://www.h-online.com/security/news/item/Rails-developers-close-another-extremely-critical-flaw-1793511.html I just checked for ubuntu status and discovered, that there is no updated package. Well - I decided to give it some time., since the patch was already available for debian I figured it would only need some time to be available in ubuntu as well. After waiting some days I checked again - and there is no update. So I tried to hit launchpad, but up to now I am getting the impression that it is not leading anywhere? So - in the end my question is: what can I do to help here? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1119256 Title: rails: CVE-2013-0333: Vulnerability in JSON Parser To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ruby-activesupport-2.3/+bug/1119256/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1122780] [NEW] Constant background noise
Public bug reported: I'm having a hard time figuring this out! First, when moving the mouse, i hear some noise in the speakers. Second, depending on how much programs run simultaniously and what gets rendered on the screen, i get a constant growling noise in the speakers paired with the slightly higher sounding noise from the mouse movements. If only the desktop is shown, there's no background noise in the speakers. Some examples that produce a background noise: when switching between desktops, as soon as the little window opens that shows all available desktops, the noise starts. open a terminal, open a file in vim. as soon as i move the cursor i get a growling/ crackling sound. while filling out this bug report, moving the cursor (with arrow keys) inside the text field i get that growling sound. yet even stranger: the blinking cursor in the textfield of this bugreport produces a noise as soon as the cursor is shown, so it constantly goes tock... tock... tock... tock... We are able to open and save existing files on the share with Libreoffice. Other applications, such as Sublime Text, are able to create new files and Save As. It also appears that after we force quit, it leaves the lock files in place, which LO does initially successfully create on the share when opening an existing file. Does this mean that the file creation process for LO's lock/temp files is entirely different from how it access the share when trying to create or save normal files? This appears to have been a problem for a long time, specific to shares mounted with these methods. [Bug 1122753] [NEW] [MIR] qtchooser
Public bug reported: (this is an after-the-fact mir) Availability: in main amd64 armhf i386 powerpc Rationale: qtchooser is the new upstream recommended tool being adopted by Debian and Ubuntu for handling co-installation of development executables for multiple Qt versions. It replaces the earlier Debian/Ubuntu approach of patching sources to add "-qt4" like suffixes and using the alternatives system to switch between them. It is depended now upon by libqt4-dev - via qt4-default - in order not to break any existing packages. Security: No known security history. QA: No outstanding bug reports https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qtchooser. Not yet uploaded in Debian because of the release happening although the packaging Ubuntu used is there. Dependencies: All dependencies are in main. Maintenance: Currently by me, as part of the Debian KDE packaging team. qtchooser itself is an extremely small program, unlike Qt. Other: See man qtchooser (submitted to upstream) for usage instruction. The most usual use case is installing qt5-default or qt4-default to provide a default configuration in which case qtchooser "disappears" from the user. ** Affects: qtchooser (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1122753 Title: [MIR] qtchooser To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qtchooser/+bug/1122753/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1097262] Re: [pam][pam_umask]: Explicitly set the user specific umask at (shell) login to "0022" value
I don't see anything here that's a bug in the pam package. > when I am working with the Freetz build-system I have this > umask/shell problem described in [1]. It is a bug for any build system to make assumptions about the umask. If particular permissions are required, it should set them explicitly - or set its own umask as part of the build system. > The umask is "002" when xterm is started. That is the current default, yes. > $ man pam_umask > ...recommends: > EXAMPLES >Add the following line to /etc/pam.d/login to set the user > specific umask at login: This is an example, not a recommendation. Modifying the /etc/pam.d/login file only affects the login service. As you are not using a console login, this does not apply. > NOTE-1: common-session is a INCLUDED file, but a > dpkg -S /path/to/common-session does NOT refer to any Ubuntu package. This is normal for config files modified by the system at runtime, and is not a bug in pam. It is arguably a bug in dpkg, but not one that will be fixed any time in the near future. > NOTE-2: session items in common-session file are malformed (tabs)! There's nothing malformed about using tabs here. > I am not sure where exactly to change the umask for shell logins > GLOBALLY and/or USER-DEFINED. [Bug 1122525] Re: ltsp-build-client build ltsp chroot failed : Unable to locate package linux-image-generic
I can confirm that the md5 of the fixed script in the package that just built on LP matches that of the file I have in my working VM here (that I had to hand edit in the middle of a d-i install for testing). I can't easily check that the rest of the package is regression free, but considering the diff only applies to this single file, that seems likely. We'll only be able to be 100% sure once we have a new media built from this and at this point we need it to be promoted to precise- updates for this to happen. [Bug 1122525] Re: ltsp-build-client build ltsp chroot failed : Unable to locate package linux-image-generic
Hello Paul, or anyone else affected, Accepted ltsp into precise-proposed. The package will build now and be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ltsp/5.3.7-0ubuntu2.4 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository. Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users. If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help us make a better decision. [Bug 209509]
To clarify, there are two solutions: 1. Expose the text correctly via IAccessibleText; or 2. Stop exposing IAccessibleText altogether on that object (i.e. QueryInterface shouldn't return it). To work with current NVDA, the text would have to be exposed as the value rather than the name if the role is label. Can you take a look please at try build: > and say how we should expose the input@type="file" to AT to make it working > with NVDA? The problem is that XUL labels expose the IAccessibleText interface, but the text is empty (IAccessibleText::nCharacters returns 0). If the label text is exposed via IAccessibleText, it should work correctly.
