[Bug 1137436] [NEW] [IEC PineTrail] suspend/resume failure
Public bug reported: I installed Ubuntu via USB and I picked for it to replace the current operating system completely. I ended up trying this process two additional times because I thought there was an error in the installation. When I boot I can hear the familiar hand drum log screen sound but my display is black. I then later figured out that (at the point of the black screen) if I close the lid of my Chromebook and then open it immediately after, the Ubuntu log in screen appears like it should. So at least I can get logged in. Another problem upon finally getting the Ubuntu log in screen to appear is that my chromebook's fan seems to be running hard than it ever has before (that includes running Chrome OS, Chrubuntu 12.04, trying Ubuntu 11.04 from USB boot, and Insyde H20 BIOS). This kind of worries me because the fan seems to be on a constant full blast and has not stopped once since I have logged in to Ubuntu 13.04. On another note, there need to be more custom keyboard configuration to take adtantage of all of the Chromebook keys, like brightness up/down, browser back/forward page buttons, browser refresh, and window switching. I an pleased to see at least volume shortcuts. [Bug 1126560] Re: /etc/networking/* are executed multiple times
I have now extended my script with $IFACE and the result is very annoying. On restarting the network with /etc/init.d/networking restart (network_restart2.log) --all and eth0 were registered. I'm wondering why eth0 is registered there if --all is already used or why lo is missing. On rebooting the system (network_reboot2.log) it is more confusing. eth0 was registered on if-pre-up.d 2 times, lo 1 time and --all 1 time. On if-up.d lo, eth0 and --all were registered 1 time. I'm wondering here too why --all is registered if eth0 and lo are already registered. But it is even annoying why eth0 was registered 2 times on if-pre-up.d. The difference why restarting the network is calling the scripts sequentially and rebooting the system parallel makes the chaos perfect. ** Attachment added: debug2 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ifupdown/+bug/1126560/+attachment/3552578/+files/debug2 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1126560 Title: /etc/networking/* are executed multiple times To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ifupdown/+bug/1126560/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1137481] [NEW] Keyboard delays a few seconds
Public bug reported: I'm using Ubuntu 13.04 dev with openbox 3.5.0-6 and sometimes after some time I get the problem that the keys on my keyboard are delaying all input a few seconds. This means I have to hold down a key a few seconds until the system is registering the key. This happens on the USB port and on the PS2 port (with an adapter). Replugging the keyboard or rebooting the system solves this issue. I'm noticing the problem at most on playing games, especially after pressing a lot of times shift in combination with another keys. [Bug 1135633] Re: [linaro regression] alsa-tools FTBFS with error unable to find a register to spill in class ‘AREG’
GCC 4.7 FSF branch does not support -ftree-coalesce-vars till now. But GCC 4.7-linaro supports that. Disabling (-fno-tree-coalesce-var) will solve this issue as of now. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1135633 Title: [linaro regression] alsa-tools FTBFS with error unable to find a register to spill in class ‘AREG’ To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gcc/+bug/1135633/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 934469] Re: Virtual terminals resets Bash history to last 500 entries even when it is set to more entries
So it is no bug. There are two types of shell, login (from a tty) and non-login (from x, so gnome-terminal, xterm and other emulators). Login looks to .profile, .bash_profile or .bash_login and sources those files whereas non-login sources .bashrc (it is more complicated, actually, see the man page). Ubuntu by default puts this .profile file in home users directory: # ~/.profile: executed by the command interpreter for login shells. # This file is not read by bash(1), if ~/.bash_profile or ~/.bash_login # exists. # see /usr/share/doc/bash/examples/startup-files for examples. # the files are located in the bash-doc package. # the default umask is set in /etc/profile; for setting the umask # for ssh logins, install and configure the libpam-umask package. #umask 022 # if running bash if [ -n $BASH_VERSION ]; then # include .bashrc if it exists if [ -f $HOME/.bashrc ]; then . $HOME/.bashrc fi fi # set PATH so it includes user's private bin if it exists if [ -d $HOME/bin ] ; then PATH=$HOME/bin:$PATH fi Which reads .bashrc even for login shells. I must have inadvertedly deleted my -profile page. I guess you did the same. So closing this as invalid, for user must call this upon herself by her own devices. ** Changed in: shadow (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/934469 Title: Virtual terminals resets Bash history to last 500 entries even when it is set to more entries To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/934469/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
