[Bug 1087951] Re: mountall 100% cpu ussage
I have a similar problem, Ubuntu 12.04, mountall 2.36.4. I have a file- system (/data) with 44 sqfs-images and the mountpoints for them. In the fstab I mount first the filesystem /dev/vg2/datalv /data ext4 noatime 0 2 and later the images /data/sqfs/x01.sqfs /data/x/x/x01 squashfs,ro loop 0 0 ... /data/sqfs/x44.sqfs /data/x/x/x44 squashfs,ro loop 0 0 I could reproduce the infinite running mountall with 100% CPU usage on about 2 out of 3 bootings. The problem seems to go away after changing all lines in fstab containing sqfs to /data/sqfs/x01.sqfs /data/x/x/x01 squashfs,ro,_netdev loop 0 0 (adding "_netdev", probably impossible workaround on a mobile computer) So maybe mountall goes into the infinite loop while waiting on the availbility of the image-files, (*.iso or *.sqfs)? I did not find any other option to make mount wait onto an other fs like waiting on the network. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1087951 Title: mountall 100% cpu ussage To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mountall/+bug/1087951/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I'm testing 3.5.0-27.47~lp1140716 a few days now (12.04.2, ThinkPad X220). It doesn't completely eliminate the hangups, but it is a *huge* improvement: - the hangups occur less frequent, around one or two per day - hangups are not fatal anymore, i.e. system recovers in a short time so that i even didn't notice them so far – had to look in the syslog for them -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1140716 Title: [regression] 3.5.0-26-generic and 3.2.0-39-generic GPU hangs on Sandybridge To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1140716/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 429373] Re: Sound is stuttering using libsdl1.2debian-pulseaudio and alsa packages.
In the latest version of dosbox (tested on raring), the rate seems to be set to 44100 and prebuffer to 20 by default everywhere. Can anybody experiencing this problem check if it's being resolved? As a side note, uninstalling any pulseaudio package is not a good solution but just a temporal workaround. Public bug reported: The same kernel panic that I had before (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1164788) This is a new daily build though, so I'm reporting a new bug. I'm thinking it's a fan issue - overheating, though not while on AC power. If I unplug it and let it sit on carpet, the fans won't go high, but it's quite likely that it'll throw this kernel panic out. [Bug 696883] Re: btnx won't start
I'm writing to confirm the method above. It works! After force closing btnx-config, it won't open any more. Restart, purge remove, re-install won't work. You have to delete 2 configs files: /etc/btnx/btnx_manager and /etc/btnx_config_Default. In folder /etc/btnx, there's another file /etc/btnx/events, don't delete this "events" file. If you do, just reinstall the packages. Then btnx-config will work again. This is one of the counter-intuitive hassles of linux world that make me jump back to Windows, MacOS. [Bug 1149269] Re: Dell Precision T1650 - FWTS reports critical errors during Suspend/Resume testing
This is a common BIOS bug and it is caused by BIOS AML trying to access a variable that is outside the input buffer "arg0", i.e. the below code: CreateWordField (Arg0, 0x11, IRQE) In ACPI spec, _SRS's input buffer needs to be the same size of _CRS as defined below: 6.2.15 _SRS (Set Resource Settings) This optional control method takes one byte stream argument that specifies a new resource allocation for a device. The resource descriptors in the byte stream argument must be specified exactly as listed in the _CRS byte stream – meaning that the identical resource descriptors must appear in the identical order, resulting in a buffer of exactly the same length. However, BIOS returns a smaller buffer in \_SB_.PCI0.LPCB.UAR1._CRS, and kernel pass the small buffer to _SRS where it fails - and it simply means that BIOS AML did not complete configuration for UAR1 device (serial port). Fortunately, UAR1 (serial ports) rarely needs BIOS's AML to configure - they are configured in BIOS's POST and/or by device driver. This error does not acutally cause any funtion failure or instablity according to the past experiences. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1149269 Title: Dell Precision T1650 - FWTS reports critical errors during Suspend/Resume testing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1149269/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
