[Bug 1181084] Re: Unable to install previously purchased software in current ubuntu development release (saucy)
** Description changed: I have some purchased software that I am not able to install due to Ubuntu Software Center considering that the development release (saucy as I'm writing this), is not supported. This means that advanced users that want to have saucy installed will not be able to access that purchased software anymore. With the incoming plans for the development release to be a "rolling release", this would mean that I'd not be able to access that software unless I go back to an "stable" release. Given that the development release is considered of use by not the regular users, but advanced ones that want to have the latest software, I would consider the "release check" in the software center to not be done in any case when in the latest development release. + As a side note, maybe with even a different bug report, this also + affects what new software I can install. As an example, I cannot find + the steam client listed for installation, when it appears without + problems in a computer with ubuntu precise. + ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.10 Package: software-center 5.6.0-0ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.9.0-2.6-generic 3.9.2 Uname: Linux 3.9.0-2-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.10.1-0ubuntu1 Architecture: amd64 Date: Fri May 17 13:30:56 2013 EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationDate: Installed on 2012-11-25 (173 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.10 "Quantal Quetzal" - Alpha amd64 (20120627) MarkForUpload: True PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: - LANGUAGE=en_SG:en - PATH=(custom, no user) - XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= - LANG=en_SG.UTF-8 - SHELL=/bin/bash + LANGUAGE=en_SG:en + PATH=(custom, no user) + XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= + LANG=en_SG.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: software-center UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to saucy on 2012-11-25 (172 days ago) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1181084 Title: Unable to install previously purchased software in current ubuntu development release (saucy) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-center/+bug/1181084/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1181085] [NEW] Sometimes system works too slow
Public bug reported: Bug starts to show up after last kernel update (3.8.0.21.37). Sometimes system works very slow. 'top' command shows that many processes produces 40-50% CPU loading. Processes every time are different. Once udevd daemon produced 70% CPU loading and even 'ps' command freezed when it's output was on udevd. java (tomcat, I think) and xorg produces over 100% thery often. CPU cooler during this works on maximum frequency and doesn't stop. CPU temperature increases to 60-65C. After reboot everything works fine. Now summary CPU loading less then 10%, temperature - 40-45C. In spite of I have several hard programs (eclipse, chrome, thunderbird and other) launched. [Bug 1181084] [NEW] Unable to install previously purchased software in current ubuntu development release (saucy)
Public bug reported: I have some purchased software that I am not able to install due to Ubuntu Software Center considering that the development release (saucy as I'm writing this), is not supported. [Bug 1159715] Re: winbind_krb5_locator plugin is missing from winbind 3.6.3
I suspect I'm seeing the results of this on some 12.04 virtual servers. The strange thing is that I'm pretty sure we've had 12.04 servers work properly in the past. I've tried it with both 3.6.3-2ubuntu2.6 and 3.6.3-2ubuntu2. We've been getting console errors about either uncontactable KDCs or clock skew being too great when logging in via SSH with GSSAPI, or when using sudo. The logins and sudo take a long time to happen - even local unix accounts are held up. After logging in there is no kerberos ticket cache. Manually using kinit authenticates successfully though and will create a ticket cache. So non-winbind vanilla kerberos stuff isn't affected. The clock skew errors will even happen straight after an ntpdate update from the AD domain controller. I suspect this is erroneous and just a symptom related to not finding our domain controller. The things that make me suspect it's related to this bug report are: 1) kerberos only fails to find the DC when being initiated via winbind, and 2) winbind seems to start behaving properly when we hard code our domain controller/KDC into /etc/krb5.conf -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1159715 Title: winbind_krb5_locator plugin is missing from winbind 3.6.3 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1159715/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1158129] Re: fwts_test reports high falures for hibernation/suspend test
I noticed upstream kernel has a commit #b8df197950923ecd that may workaround this as below: commit 28fe5c825f8e15744d04c7c1b8df197950923ecd Author: Lan Tianyu Date: Mon May 6 03:23:40 2013 + ACPI / EC: Restart transaction even when the IBF flag set The EC driver works abnormally with IBF flag always set. IBF means "The host has written a byte of data to the command or data port, but the embedded controller has not yet read it". If IBF is set in the EC status and not cleared, this will cause all subsequent EC requests to fail with a timeout error. Change the EC driver so that it doesn't refuse to restart a transaction if IBF is set in the status. Also increase the number of transaction restarts to 5, as it turns out that 2 is not sufficient in some cases. This bug happens on several different machines (Asus V1S, Dell Latitude E6530, Samsung R719, Acer Aspire 5930G, Sony Vaio SR19VN and others). This apparently is a workaround but it fixes the "AE_TIME" errors and "ACPI: EC: input buffer is not empty, aborting transaction". ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Won't Fix => In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1158129 Title: fwts_test reports high falures for hibernation/suspend test To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1158129/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1076429] Re: [Lenovo x230, 480c, e130, k49, E330] - Bluetooth audio non-functional
Bluetooth A2DP output to the Sony DR-BT21G was working fine on ThinkPad Egde E330 in Ubuntu 11.10 and works now in 12.04.2 for me after an upgrade. It uses the Intel Centrino Wireless Bluetooth 4.0 + High Speed Adapter (http://www.ubuntu.com/certification/catalog/component/usb/8087:07da/). I was following http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1464189&p=9511043#post9511043 on how to configure Bluetooth in 11.10. Although I have 2 issues: 1. Default Bluetooth manager (bluetooth-applet from gnome-bluetooth) cannot connect to the headset correctly. So I use Blueman and switch the audio source through the "gnome-control-center sound". Some applications like totem require switching the source with PulseAudio Volume Control. 2. The output is very sensitive. If you put a hand between the device and the headset, the sound stops. This is not the case for streaming A2DP from my cell phone, so it's definitely a PC issue. The same was happening on the different ThinkPad Edge, so possibly it's a Linux issue (not hardware). a2dp skips terribly (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/405294) Audio output on Bluetooth headset is choppy (http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/pulseaudio-discuss/2011-September/011258.html) Current versions: kernel: 3.2.0-43-generic #68-Ubuntu SMP. gnome-bluetooth: 3.2.2-0ubuntu5 blueman: 1.23-0ubuntu2.1 gnome-control-center: 1:3.4.2-0ubuntu0.11 pavucontrol: current version is 0.99.2-1build1 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1076429 Title: [Lenovo x230, 480c, e130, k49, E330] - Bluetooth audio non-functional To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1076429/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 325118] Re: Octave segfaults on 'clear all'
Thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. Ubuntu 9.04 reached EOL on October 23, 2010. See this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases I've tried recreating this bug with Ubuntu 13.04 and was unable to, given the information you've provided. Please upgrade to the latest version and re-test. If the bug is still reproducible, increase the verbosity of the steps to recreate it so we can try again. Do feel free to report any other bugs you may find. ** Changed in: octave2.9 (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/325118 Title: Octave segfaults on 'clear all' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/octave/+bug/325118/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 325118] Re: Octave segfaults on 'clear all'
Marking this bug invalid in upstream Octave. As mentioned in comment #1, the crash is a result of certain Octave Forge packages being installed, not a bug in Octave itself. ** Changed in: octave Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/325118 Title: Octave segfaults on 'clear all' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/octave/+bug/325118/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
