[Bug 1057425] Re: Blueman : Bad German translation for "audio sink"

2013-05-21 Thread Hendrik Knackstedt
I corrected the affected strings in Launchpad (I do not own a Bluetooth
headset to test it however). It is Fix Released on the translation's
side since we fixed what we can fix.

Nevertheless, I'll mark this as affecting blueman. As I said before,
Blueman is not in the »main« repository and therefore might not be part
of the LanguagePack. This means an updated package has to be submitted
by the Blueman package maintainers to include updated translations. Or
their migth be something wrong with the coding …

[Bug 1181155] Re: Dashboard doesn't list floating IP associated with VM instance

Horizon displays the data provided by Nova's API, so I strongly suspect
this may be a problem with what Nova is returning. Can you enable debug
logging for the client (or use python-novaclient directly) to do a
server list command and provide the returned data?

Re: [Bug 1181712] Re: I don't know the difference between bugs and my system cracker

2013-05-21 Thread Bruce Perry
What you say may be true on a micro scale, but on a macro scale,,,
such as when the person goes into my SSL certificates area and leaves
notes talkng about how useless SSL is and he knows how can beat it,
(and I don't have a clue as to whether he changed the security of the
whole machine any more than you are from me telling you this story
and expecting yout to immediately believe it. , But then maybe the
only way to find tut if this is dangerous is to fhnd and locate the
guy. We are putting everyone at risk by ignoring it in light of my
very careful decision not to mention this except to my wife for years.
I have thought many times that some of it was just coincidence.
But eventually coincidence falls to reallism. The most telling thing
happening was my wife's disk drive just by happenstance getting the
name that mimmicked my own Woody Guthrie parody making an analogy
between a guitar and the personal compouter. But someone had to break
into my wife's computer to do that. I'm so clueless about a lof of
this that I forgot the pasword on my windows machine and couldn't get
any of the supposedly foolproof products out there to get into the
Window machine by braking in and getting the pasword. But I've been
trying to educate myself by reading many of the documents in the
iinnards of the Ubuntu operating system..

As a lawyer, one of the things you have to look at is the totality of
the evidence. There is overwhelming evidence of someone who enjoys
cracking into my machine and may possibly be doing it on a larger
scale.
Frankly I don't have much of a clue, but if we were playing the game
Clue, my money would be on the guy who was in therapy with me moaning
and groaning about how he was treated at work, and he left the
impression it was a sensitive job involving monitoring computers. And
I was somewhat rude to him at that meeting, not my usual persona burt
the guy needed somone to tell him the problem wasn't all ihis
coworkers. This was a group therapy session after all. Maybe one of
them, or a small group of them might be treating him badly but not the
whole organization. Maybe his boss was a jerk and that was al it was.
I've had to deal with that and when it happens, it's not so bad
because everyone shares in the misery.

Ignore it if you want to but when this person causes major harm all I
can say is that I finally did my part. Part of me fi8nds taling like
this distasteful as my years of public defending made me realize that
often the innocent person is a supsect for a long time. And have
only just a very. very small amount of confidence that he is the
guyl. In fact, the odds are he isn't.

But I[m not asking anyone to go after this guy. All I want is someone
to note if some person is getting in my machine who is not at my ip
address. Because my wife is essentially a "shut-in" and I yhave to
bbe here to take care of us. So we don't log into our accounts from
anywhere here but at this ip address. She uses Windows and I use Linux
and my bet is that they are entering my computer through her Windows
machine. I need to learn how to make a complete, independent firewall
that logs everything and some advice on what computer program can see
anomolies in the IP address and where and what foreign IP addresses
are going when they enter here.

I{'ve been hoping he goes away for years. But then something happens
that has the clear mark of a malicious human's handiwork written all
over it after a week, or a month, or 6 weeks or whatever goes by, and
there he is again. , have had too many of those incidents such that ,
I can't ignore it anymore and just chalk it up0 to my paranoia and a
coincidence or series of coincedences . And after years of having to
endure it, I have come to realize it's not a lof of people and it's
not the odd but but explanable curious happenings. It's one person
stalking me. And I have no clue who it is and no reason to make it
up. It's embarrassing to tell my life story.

And yes, I do suffer from paranoia but it is controlled by medication,
although 'America's march towards totalitarianism is upsetting to me
as it is to so many others people.I have confidence we will eventually
get back on track., That's something I can't change on my own. But I
can alert t\he right people to this one guy. That's apparently not
you.

But I can do something to stop this guy who is using his knowledge to
harass me and no telling how many others. On the other hand, I coudl
name a few more suspects. I really am a Thoreau type person who likes
to stay at home and read.

I was curious enough about his saying he lived where no one could find
him and that he had a special secret email adddress. It's been years
and I found he lived in a big aprtment building abd hgis email address
ended with the suffix of dot us or .us.

[Bug 1182604] [NEW] AMD64 lmms package doesn't have Vestige VST support while the i386 does

2013-05-21 Thread Daniel Renninghoff
Public bug reported:

The AMD64 package doesn't containt libvestige.so to be able to run VST plugins.
While comparing the filelists of the amd64 package and the i386 package (see
[1] and [2]) I noticed that the i386 package does have this support.
It would be nice if this could be fixed and the amd64 lmms package would also
support VST plugins. This is critical for many musicians because many plugins
are only available as VST plugins.

I just ininstalled Wubi. The uninstaller was indeed in that directory, but it

uninstall-wubi.exe

and not

Uninstall-Ubuntu.exe

2013-05-21 Thread Julien Aubin
Hi,

The kernel bug actually exists upstream, which is not surprising as the bug I
referenced is marked as "won't fix". However it turns out that there's one
1-line offending commit which broke everything, as stated in comment #10 of the
bug. The commit is :
http://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=966f1212e1ac5fe3ddf04479d21488ddb36a2608

I can try a patched 3.8.0-xx kernel packaged for Ubuntu Raring with this
fix, in order to test.

Rgds,

Julien.

[Bug 1182598] [NEW] Sync nose 1.3.0-2 (main) from Debian unstable (main)

2013-05-21 Thread Dmitry Shachnev
Public bug reported:

Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:

No more nosetests-3.x scripts — no fixes needed :)

The only Ubuntu packages still using nosetests-3.x are:

- cssutils: fixed in Debian packaging Vcs, hope to get that
  uploaded and synced soon
- pandas: lp:~mitya57/ubuntu/saucy/pandas/no-nosetests-3.y

Changelog entries since current saucy version 1.1.2-3ubuntu4:

nose (1.3.0-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * Team upload.
  * Upload to unstable.

  [ Jakub Wilk ]
  * Use canonical URIs for Vcs-* fields.

  [ Dmitry Shachnev ]
  * Rebuild without python2.6 (closes: #675753, #707897).
  * Drop nosetests-3.x scripts. There is no easy way to provide these
scripts for all supported Python 3 versions, and there are other
ways to do the same thing (like running python3.x -m nose).
  * Install a manpage for nosetests-2.7.
  * Update the Homepage: field.

nose (1.3.0-1) experimental; urgency=low

  [ Dmitry Shachnev ]
  * Team upload.
  * New upstream release (closes: #675554).
- Fixes exceptions in tests generator (closes: #663465, thanks to

  * Bump Standards-Version to 3.9.4, no changes needed.
  * Disable some unstable tests (in multiprocessing module) to make the
package not FTBFS.
  * Run the tests for Python 3.x during build.
  * debian/patches/manpage-formatting: dropped, the issue is properly
fixed upstream.
  * debian/rules: disable HTTP traffic during build.
  * Refresh other patches.
  * Update debian/clean.

Do you you refer to the 4.3.10 upstream release or the 4.3.7-1 Debian
package when you talk of "current version"?

To which changelog entry or commit do you refer when you write "The
bug is fixed in the current version"? I couldn't find any entry in the
upstream changelog which sounds similar enough to what you reported.
Additionally the only code which changed in htmlquoted() seems to
handle no or empty arguments.

[Bug 1166474] Re: LibreFm test fails

2013-05-21 Thread Brian Murray
Hello Alexandre, or anyone else affected,

Accepted unity-webapps-librefm into quantal-proposed. The package will
build now and be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-
webapps-librefm/2.4.11.1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

** Changed in: unity-webapps-librefm (Ubuntu Quantal)
   Status: New => Fix Committed

** Tags added: verification-needed

** Description changed:

  [Impact]
  LibreFm test fails.

  [Test Case]
  - open Firefox,
  - go to e.g. 'http://libre.fm/listen.php?tag=metal',
  - make sure that a launcher icon appears when integration occurs,
  - make sure that the sound menu integrates and shows a LibreFm entry with the
current song playing,

- [Impact]
+ [Regression Potential]
Nothing specific, since the changes are strictly within the boundary of this
integration script.

[Bug 1104435] Re: xfce4-session crashed with SIGSEGV in g_slice_alloc()

2013-05-21 Thread Moritz Naumann
** Description changed:

+ SRU REQUEST
+ as per https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#SRU_Bug_Template
+ Originally written by https://launchpad.net/~mnaumann

+
+XFCE session closes (due to segfault) without specific (or any) user
action, unsaved work is lost, user needs to login again. Critical UX impact to
XFCE users on at least Raring (there are reports that Quantal is affected, too).
+
+ Justification for backporting the fix to the stable release:
+
+A tiny upstream patch is available:
+
http://git.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-session/commit/?id=ab391138cacc62ab184a338e237c4430356b41f9
+It has been packaged (no other changes) by Ricardo Teixas, tested by
several users who commented on the XFCE and Ubuntu bug trackers, and has been
reviewed and approved by 7 of the Ubuntu community.
+According to tests by users
+
+ [Test Case]
+
+ How to reproduce:
+
+ An exact trigger action is not known, reports state that the session will
often fail faster if user starts and quits applications such as Firefox or
Thunderbird, or adds / removes applets to/from or interacts with panel. On
affected system with user interaction, the session process should fail after a
maximum of 1 hour of use, though most likely it will take more like less than
10 minutes.
+
+
+ [Regression Potential]
+
+My (limited) understanding is that the patch is minimally invasive.
+ As discussed above, the patch is well tested and there are no reports,
+ after (sometimes) weeks of use, that it would introduce new issues.
+ Based on my (limited) understanding, there is no or neglegible
+ regression potential involved.
+
+ [Other Info]
+
+ Upstream version 4.10.1 includes the patch, tagged on May 5:

+

qualified to handle it (I don't feel very qualified myself). Please also note
that I am unable to upload a patch to *-proposed.
+
+
+
+ Original bug report:
+
During normal operation, suddenly, without any particular reason, the
session was restarted. The problem was repeated several times, even
several times. Only now I was able to report a bug, because after each
restart of the session, error reporting program was closed.

Podczas normalnej pracy, nagle, bez żadnej konkretnej przyczyny, sesja
została zrestartowana. Problem powtarzał się wielokrotnie, nawet kilka
razy. Dopiero teraz udalo mi się zgłosić błąd, gdyż po każdym restarcie
sesji, program raportowania błędów był zamykany.

[Bug 271755] Re: variable rate mp3 have wrong length

2013-05-21 Thread beta
This bug is still present in version 2.98 under ubuntu raring 13.04.
Seeing the importance set to LOW, while 5 years passed from the first
report, is outraging.

Most of my files are vbr encoded mp3, and I cant check song duration,
cant jump to a position in song, or see where the current playing
position is, because rhythmbox shows incorrect duration for mp3 songs
encoded in variable bitrate. This is unacceptable for a media player,
and should have been resolved years ago.

I hope you recognise what a major bug this is. I really like your
player, but unfortunately this bug makes it neccessary to have another
player, so I can jump into vbr encoded songs too.

Other than that keep up the good work, your player is still one of the
best.

Because of this posting: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Intel_HD_Graphics
I tried also the kernel options:

i915.semaphores=1 i915.i915_enable_fbc=0

but also with no effect.

The problem seems to stop when wireless adapter is turned off before suspending

Menus populate correctly after resume or wake up.
Although to turn on the wireless adapter I have to to press the keyboard

When wireless adapter is on, the submenus aren't populated

Re: [Bug 1180562] Re: Xymon "trends view" for a specific time span does not work

2013-05-21 Thread Axel Beckert
Hi Peter,

Peter Toft wrote:
> >From where can I install 4.3.11? I can certainly test this

Currently there are no .debs available yet.

Upstream sources are at e.g.
http://surfnet.dl.sourceforge.net/project/xymon/Xymon/4.3.11/xymon-4.3.11.tar.gz
and in Debian's xymon git repository.

You should be able to build the .debs from the experimental (and
currently untested) source package in the git repository at
http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=collab-maint/xymon.git

When upgrading from 4.3.0~beta2.dfsg-9.1ubuntu0.1, please be aware

a) that many paths, file names and environment variable names changed,
mostly from "hobbit" to "xymon", but also from e.g. bb-hosts to
   hosts.cfg, etc.

b) that the migration scripts haven't reached the expected quality
yet. (Despite that, the experimental 4.3.7-1 package is already
shipped in Ubuntu Quantal and later.)

So testing might not be that easy.

Regards, Axel

2013-05-21 Thread Lars Steinke
Well,

all I can say is that I have had no reason to install extlinux, but that
doesn't really matter.

Funnily enough, update-grub does no longer seem to have a hard time running

real0m17.431s
user0m2.080s

grub.cfg and syslog attached for reference, you can clearly see the
duplicate entries for the raw md0 disks sda1 and sdb1...

it would ask for one on 13.04 and not on 12.04.

[Bug 1152736] Re: system swapping itself to death in raring for no good reason

2013-05-21 Thread cro
I made two changes to my machine yesterday in rc.local:

I commented out this:
# echo deadline >/sys/block/sdb/queue/scheduler

I added this:
rmmod rts5139 (this is the smart card reader poller)

I've not had a swap to death instance since that wasn't directly related
to too many embedded objects on a Firefox page. There's been some
swapping going on, and some general slowdowns, but nothing like the past
few weeks.

It may be coincidence though.

Sorry for not commenting on this sooner. For what it's worth, we were
definitely able to reproduce this bug on our production infrastructure

several weeks now without issue. Since I've already reported these
findings and I'm the original reporter of the bug, I'm not sure that
qualifies the package to be verification-done.

** Changed in: unity-mail (Ubuntu Raring)
Milestone: None => raring-updates

** Description changed:

  I have uploaded unity-mail 1.3.3~12.04 to raring-proposes.

  == Changelog / Development fix ==

This is a no-change backport of the version in saucy:

  unity-mail (1.3.3) saucy; urgency=low

    * New bugfix release.
  - Prevent potential crash in check_email when email is not valid.
  - If the default collection does not exist, try to create it. This
really fixes the ItemNotFoundException problems (LP: #1165548).
  - Fix the version number in the help message.

  Diff between 1.3.2 and 1.3.3: https://launchpadlibrarian.net/139404531
  /unity-mail_1.3.2_1.3.3.diff.gz

  == Impact ==

This fixes a major issue (bug 1165538, currently also crash №1 for
unity-mail on errors.ubuntu.com) when it crashes when the default Secret
Service collection doesn't exist, and two minor issues.

  == Test case ==

Please see test case for the ItemNotFoundException in the bug 1165538.

Test case for the "Fix version number in the help message" part:

  1. Run "unity-mail --version" command.
  2. The output should be "Unity Mail, version 1.3".
+
+ == Regression potential ==
+
+ No regression potential (given that the new behaviour is tested on
+ systems both with and witout the default keyring).

2013-05-21 Thread Serge Hallyn
When I took a close look the first time, it appeared to be hung in the
lxc-ubuntu template on flock.

If this is reproducible, and hangs again on flock, then it sounds like a
kernel bug and we should mark as affecting linux.

I couldn't reproduce this on a saucy canonistack instance, but that may
not have rebooted into the latest kernel.

[Bug 1177855] Re: [SRU] Drop Build-Depends on python-sphinxcontrib.issuetracker

2013-05-21 Thread Steve Langasek
Hello Andres, or anyone else affected,

Accepted celery into precise-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/celery/2.4.6-1ubuntu0.1
in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Thank you in
advance!

[Bug 1165548] Missing SRU information

2013-05-21 Thread Brian Murray
Thanks for uploading the fix for this bug report to -proposed. However,
when reviewing the package in -proposed and the details of this bug
report I noticed that the bug description is missing information
required for the SRU process. You can find full details at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#Procedure but essentially
this bug is missing some of the following: a statement of impact, a test
case and details regarding the regression potential. Thanks in advance!

[Bug 74747] Re: Default sources.list file has source packages enabled by default

2013-05-21 Thread Matthew Paul Thomas
** Description changed:

- Binary package hint: apt
-
The default sources.list file has source packages enabled by default,
this is bad for the average user (especially those on modems) because
they are very unlikely to use source packages, however they will still
have the download overhead of the packages list.

For most people the deb-src lines could simply be commented out by
  default.

(Bug reported at the behest of Robert Collins)
+
+ Implementing this would probably invalidate bug 301602. See also bug

[Bug 1182517] Re: anacron runs updatedb at worst possible time

2013-05-21 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1182517/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]
