[Bug 1182586] Re: CVE-2013-2070: nginx proxy_pass buffer overflow vulnerability
To summarize the reasons for the changes on this bug done by me: This CVE has already been Fix Released in Saucy, as part of the 1.4.1-1ubuntu2 package, and as part of the merge of 1.4.1-1 from Debian with the ubuntu delta that exists. The affected versions are in Precise, Quantal, and Raring, and I have assigned myself to those, as I will be working on preparing debdiffs for each of the affected releases, after which a member of the security team will be able to take a look at the debdiffs for inclusion into the security updates. [Bug 1074840] Re: Zpaq package isnt up to date (wasnt updated over 2 years)
I'm the Debian maintainer of zpaq. I'd like to explain why the zpaq hasn't been updated since. * Not having any manual pages. the pages were hand written by me. The pages are quite extensive in size and coverage. * After 1.10 the zpaq infrastructure changed radically. It was split into library part and client part. It was not possible to upgrade to new versions as the manual pages and all the source code very very much incompatible. It was not possible to merge in changes. After every new release this divergency has increased. The situation is comparable to apache1 and apache2: The Apache2 is a rewrite and not upgradeable in source level. I suggest that somebody opens a RFP (request for package) for zpaq2 or zpaq-new that is based on the new infrastructure. The packager also probably needs to start from scratch to e.g. write the associated manual pages. There are no viable solutions or possibilities as far as I can see to update 1.10 any further. Possibly this bug might be marked as wontfix in Debian tag parlance. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1074840 Title: Zpaq package isnt up to date (wasnt updated over 2 years) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/zpaq/+bug/1074840/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 1183204] [NEW] unity-tweak-tool overwrites custom config without user interaction
That is a serious issue, except that I am unable to reproduce it. Can you upgrade to 0.0.5 from our PPA and check if the problem persists? Does opening unity-tweak-tool reset the settings or do you have to select each tab? Does this happen each time you use the application or only some times? If it does not happen always, can you try to isolate one test case when the bug can be reproduced reliably? like setting an environment variable or doing some actions in some order, etc. P.S : unity-tweak-tool does not have any default settings, at least none that I recall. It queries gsettings backend and updates the user interface when it starts. [Bug 1172620] Re: Slide about internet and photos have a big scrollbar
Actually, I'd consider this one a serious bug, but it's tricky to get right :) For Saucy, I'd like to find a way to at least get overlay scrollbars instead of the old, big scrollbars, which in our case means having the scrollbar for the entire document instead of for just the block with text in it. Correction. I just downgraded pcmanfm to 1.0.1-0ubuntu1 from Quantal (rest of machine is still Raring) and it still behaves the same. Trying Precise next. Note this install is Raring but updated from Bodhi Linux 2.0 to Precise to Quantal to Raring. There are still Bodhi packages and configs lingering. pcmanfm has been ok until I updated sources.list to Raring though. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/913273 Title: PCManFM consumes 90% CPU To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pcmanfm/+bug/913273/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1183508] [NEW] A command to scale-down a service safely.
Public bug reported: My question is the following (maybe a feature request, I do no how to create one) : Imagine a service like GlusterFS requiring to migrate data from removed bricks before shuting-down the node(s) that will be removed from the cluster. gluster/0 with volume1 gluster/1 with volume2 (replica=2) gluster/2 with volume2 (replica=2) How exactly juju triggers the hooks of the units of that service ? I imagine that all units are aware of the departure of gluster/2 if we remove gluster/2. A good feature will be to have, as user, a way to express our desire to scale-down the service without specifying one particular unit, unlike juju remove-unit. Another will be, as unit of the service, a way to decide to cancel or warn the user helped by juju. For example, if the user uses juju remove- unit gluster/0 it will loose all data of volume1 ! [Bug 1103428] Re: Xymon history page does not work
Hi Axel, I can't find Ulric's patch in neither in 4.3.10 and 4.3.11 from http://xymon.sourceforge.net/ nor in 4.3.7-1. They all still contain the bug in strfunc.c: | static strbuffer_t *result = NULL; | char *inp, *endp; | char c; | | if (!result) result = newstrbuffer(4096); | clearstrbuffer(result); Might be the patch was in in for a short time. But they all use /var/lib/xymon and /etc/xymon which is not suitable to the very complex installations of Xymon Servers running Ubuntu 10.04LTS (lucid) and 12.04LTS (precise). Speaking from the Admin's view. They are using /etc/hobbit at the moment, and might loose their whole configuration and data when this is changed withing the stable release. The Bug came in with the 2011-1716 Patch. And should be all affected by this Bug. The buffer result is reused before the code is copied out of it. There are two ways to fix: - One way would be to remove the static. Which was set to prevent memory leaks. When doing this the memory must be freed in the calling functions again, at least when they are used in long running daemons. - Ulric choses the other one. This fixes the bug for a maximum amount of 10 concurrently used arguments, but is aware of producing memory leaks at all. I'm using packages containing a modified Version of Ulric's Patch since 2013-01-29 (some days after Peters post I've put them in my PPA). They does'nt contain the |#if 0 |static strbuffer_t *result = NULL; |#else and the #endif of course. This if IMHO assumes that the fix could be disabled by turning the if to 1, which wouldn't work. I'm sorry I selected the wrong patch file in #22. I'll corect it, now. Kind regards, Lars ** Patch added: This is what I wanted to post in #22 (Patch for lucid for the patch dir). https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xymon/+bug/1103428/+attachment/3685152/+files/lk1103428-lucid_2013-01-29.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1103428 Title: Xymon history page does not work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xymon/+bug/1103428/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I have this problem, too, but I'm in the US. I remember Amazon results showing up a week or so ago, but today they don't.
