[Bug 1199239] Re: Do not call isprint when listing

2013-07-08 Thread Ma Xiaojun
** Description changed:

Despite notorious LP #580961 , the biggest issue of current unzip is
that it always list non-ASCII file name character as question mark (?) .

Even though handling Zip archives with non-standard encoding (neither
CP437 nor UTF-8) can be tricky, we should support UTF-8 Zip archives out
of the box as it's become more and more popular now.

- The attached patch is from openSUSE and it solves the file name question
- mark problem. The fix is visible to File Roller also.

[Bug 1031680] Re: check_apt always report 0 critical updates

2013-07-08 Thread cyco
Also an option is to port check_apt to use libapt-pkg[1]. This has the
advantage that libapt-pkg is providing a stable api and we don't need to
parse output of apt-get/aptitude.

The easiest way to get changes into upstream is to send pull
requests[2].

+
+ [Impact] Apparently random crashes of signon-ui when creting or re-

+ [Test Case] Open Online Accounts, click on "Add account", choose
+ "Google", then press "Cancel", then "Add account" and "Google" again.
+ This sequence of operations might lead to a crash.
+
+ [Regression Potential] The fix is entirely in the signon-ui process and
consists of removing a widget pointer from a hash table when the widget itself
is destroyed. Failing to do this was causing this bug, because signon-ui would
try to use a destroyed widget.
+ The patch itself does not touch other code paths than this, and we've been
using it in saucy without noticing any regressions.

[Bug 217300]

2013-07-08 Thread Dkeeler
Adrien - here's some steps you can take:
* Does it apply/compile for mozilla-central? (`hg clone
https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central`, `cd mozilla-central`, [apply patch],
`./mach build`)
* It still needs (at least) a review from a PSM peer. As far as I know, Kai is
unavailable to do PSM reviews. Other peers are listed here:
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Modules/All (search for "PSM")
* There are a few build config changes, so it should probably get a review from
a build peer (search that same page for "build config" - it's the one related
to Gecko)
* You might consider marking old patches obsolete in this bug just to clean it
up

[Bug 875543] Re: can't eject cd rom : Inappropriate ioctl for device

2013-07-08 Thread Jim K
I found the same problem on 12.04; I think it started when I was using
Rythm Box to "extract" some music from a CD, and when I saw that it was
creating .ogg files, I decided to terminate the job, and finding there
was no "cancel" button in the application, I pushed the eject button on
the cd drive, admittedly a brash act. The drive did open, but the
application hung, and something had changed irreversibly. The problem
still persists now as soon as I boot up I can open the drive with the
button once, but after that, there is nothing that will open it except a
reboot, or the terminal command "sudo eject -i off", which does not
eject, but re-enables the button on the drive. I have been really
pleased with 12.04; this is the first shortcoming that I have found that
was significant to me.

[Bug 1173152] Re: 802.1x security in 13.04 not working

2013-07-08 Thread Niraj Bhawnani
This is a really embarassing bug especially for us enterprise users.

Sébatien's workaround works but you're then required to enter your
password each time you connect to the network.

Adding this line to etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/ fixed
that for me:
password=

So the workaround is to remove this line:
system-ca-certs=true
and add this line in its place:
password=

Though storing your password in plain text like that is not great :(

[Bug 1199199] Re: emacs dependency inhibits using latest version

2013-07-08 Thread era
However, the bug is not in emacs23, but in the packages which declare a
dependency on a nonexistent package. I'm marking this as Incomplete
because it needs to be split up into tasks for the packages which need a
change.

("Tasks" are the items which show up on a yellow background at the top
of the page in Launchpad. Add tasks by clicking "also affects package
..." and picking a package you want to add a task for.)

(Too bad I cannot go back and edit some minor inaccuracies in the
previous comment. Anyway, "emacs" fills the role you propose for
"emacs-default" and "emacsen" [roughly] the role you postulate for
"emacs", but it doesn't have a meaningful version number for specifying
stuff like "GNU Emacs >= 23 <24".)

[Bug 480671]

2013-07-08 Thread D. Hugh Redelmeier
I'm using Firefox 22.0 on Fedora 19. I tried to log into a site typing
a lowercase name. Auto completion offered both the lower case and
initial caps version. But nothing I tried would let me get the
lowercase name (tab, mouse click (on choices, or on other part of form),
arrow key).

Jesse on #firefox suggested that I edit the saved passwords. I found
that there was an entry for each casing. I deleted the initial caps
version. Then all was well.

It seems odd to me that even though both spellings were in the table. I
could only access one spelling.

[Bug 1199199] Re: emacs dependency inhibits using latest version

2013-07-08 Thread era
For example, auctex has "Depends: emacs23 | emacs24 | emacs-snapshot" --
I believe precisely to *support* users who want to be able to use emacs-
snapshot instead of one of the regular emacsen, but without forcing
anyone to give up the version they already have. This dependency is
resolved when one of the packages is installed.

The metapackage "emacsen" exists precisely so that a package can pull in
an Emacs-agnostic version, but perhaps it should be somewhat more fine-
grained. A typical pattern is "Depends: emacs23 | emacsen" but then
this is insufficient for packages which require specifically GNU Emacs,
not e.g. xemacs21, which also "Provides: emacsen". Nevertheless, I
think autex (too) should perhaps fall back to "| emacsen" so that anyone
can sastisfy the dependency with a package which "Provides: emacsen"
instead. (Maybe add "Conflicts: xemacs21" if that is an issue, but then
that is too harsh on systems where you want both GNU Emacs and Xemacs.)

I have not looked further into this matter than the single example of
auctex (I'm not an auctex user, it just happened to be first on the
list), but I believe it is perhaps less severe than indicated in the
original bug report. Nevertheless, I have checked "Affects me too"
because I certainly agree that this merits additional triage, and
perhaps escalation upstream (i.e. to Debian).

(Matters may be complicated somewhat by the fact that Ubuntu used to
have an independently packaged Emacs, but IIRC that was back when it was
emacs22. Furthermore, the sad state of xemacs21 at least in Ubuntu is a
huge can of worms.)

2013-07-08 Thread Attila Hammer
Hy Costales,

All changes fine, very thank you your good work.
I doed only a minimal change the data/ui/preferences.ui (associate
mnemonic letters with two widgets).
I want add mnemonic letters with add and remove buttons with preferences
dialog, but because this widgets is GtkTool button type, this is not
possible.
I not want changing the control type from GtkToolButton to GtkButton
this widgets, because I don't no visually ok this change or not.
If this change are ok, data/ui/main.ui affected too. If you would like
add shortcuts with add and remove buttons, I suggest following shortcuts:
Add button: put an underscore character before A letter.
Remove button: put an underscore character before R letter.

[Bug 1197687] Re: setting fucntions cannot be started from control-center

2013-07-08 Thread Ma Jun
I do the test on July 4th UbuntuKylin daily build image and the steps are
follow:
(1) Open the "System Settings" and the setting functions except "Date&Time"
are can be started normally .
(2) Then open the date-time indicator and choose the "Date&Time Settings", the
time setting cannot be started and the control-center main windows appears.
(3) After that, the gnome-control-center window cannot be closed. Meanwhile
when I choose any one function in control-center, it will return back to the
main window of control-center.

So the problem maybe caused by "indicator date-time", then I reported
a bug #1197662 to "indicator date-time".

the indicator date-time version is : 12.10.3+13.10.20130703.1-0ubuntu1
the gnome-control-center version is: 1:3.6.3-0ubuntu29

In the latest daily build image, the problem seems to be resolved and
the versions are follow:

indicator date-time : 12.10.3+13.10.20130708-0ubuntu1
gnome-control-center: 1:3.6.3-0ubuntu30

Another acceptable solution would be to have the option during unity

+ After I plug in a external monitor to my laptop, and change some display
+ settings, the screen of the laptop displays abnormal.

A possible reason of this issue is about change resolution to a un-fit
resolution, such as from 1366x768 to 640x480. Or change refresh rate to
  some strange number, such 59Hz.

- Since all behaviour is normal if without external monitor, thus this may be
due to two monitors can't be sync together. I think such changes should be
allow to sufficient user's preference.

[Bug 1199017] Re: [needs-packaging] ubuntuone-credentials

2013-07-08 Thread Jackson Doak
** Also affects: ubuntuone-credentials
   Importance: Undecided
   Status: New

** Description changed:

In order that we can provide features integrated with Ubuntu One on the
phone/tablet versions of Ubuntu, and improve related features on the
standard version of Ubuntu, bringing them closer together, we need to
introduce a C++/Qt based library and a few applications into the
distribution, from the ubuntuone-credentials upstream project.

The code currently contains a library for logging in or registering a
new account to Ubuntu One, and signing a URL with the authentication
token. It also includes a small app which is to be run by the music
lens/scope in the dash, when attempting to purchase music in the dash,
and the user is not already logged in to Ubuntu One. This is necessary
to provide a smoother experience for in-dash purchasing of music.

The library is also necessary to provide future features in the dash,
such as ratings and reviews, or recommended applications, as well as for
apps to integrate with Ubuntu One on the phone.

[Bug 41179]

2013-07-08 Thread Dkeeler
Adrien - here's some steps you can take:
* Does it apply/compile for mozilla-central? (`hg clone
https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central`, `cd mozilla-central`, [apply patch],
`./mach build`)
* It still needs (at least) a review from a PSM peer. As far as I know, Kai is
unavailable to do PSM reviews. Other peers are listed here:
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Modules/All (search for "PSM")
* There are a few build config changes, so it should probably get a review from
a build peer (search that same page for "build config" - it's the one related
to Gecko)
* You might consider marking old patches obsolete in this bug just to clean it
up

[Bug 1173349]

2013-07-08 Thread Jacky Alciné
Created attachment 80987
New crash information added by DrKonqi

plasma-desktop (4.10.4) on KDE Platform 4.10.4 using Qt 4.8.4

- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I was reading a web page in Chrome and noticed Plasma crashed. I'm
assuming that something somewhere (most likely in the System Tray)
didn't deref a pointer right and crashed the whole thing :(
