[Bug 1205562] [NEW] [background] wallpapers in grid are too small, take long time to load
Public bug reported: 1. From GNOME Shell, right-click on the desktop and select Change Background… (If not running GNOME Shell, run XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=GNOME gnome-control-center background ) 2. Click on the big wallpaper button What should happen The default wallpapers show up within about a second or two. There's room for about 9 wallpapers that fully fill the white part of the window (3 rows and 3 columns although the bottom row only shows the top half of the wallpapers). What happens === Recently in Saucy, the wallpapers started showing up much smaller than they should. There's room for about 16 in a single row. Also the wallpapers take much, much longer to load than previously. On my laptop, it took about 37 seconds for the first row of wallpapers to finish showing up. Screenshot attached. Notably this does not affect Ubuntu 13.04 with the GNOME3 PPA which includes quite a bit of GNOME 3.8 backported including GTK+ 3.8.2. The GNOME3 PPA does not currently include an updated gnome-control-center and gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu 13.04 ships 1:3.6.3-0ubuntu24.1). https://launchpad.net/~gnome3-team/+archive/gnome3/+packages?field.series_filter=raring This has not yet been reported in gnome-control-center's bugzilla nor have any relevant commits been made to the background panel in trunk: https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-control-center/log/panels/background ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.10 Package: gnome-control-center 1:3.6.3-0ubuntu30 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.10.0-5.15-generic 3.10.2 Uname: Linux 3.10.0-5-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.11-0ubuntu1 Architecture: amd64 Date: Fri Jul 26 22:48:29 2013 InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-06-14 (42 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu-GNOME 13.10 "Saucy Salamander" - Alpha amd64 (20130613) MarkForUpload: True SourcePackage: gnome-control-center UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) usr_lib_gnome-control-center: activity-log-manager0.9.7-0ubuntu4 deja-dup27.3.1-0ubuntu1 gnome-control-center-signon 0.1.7~+13.10.20130724.1-0ubuntu1 gnome-control-center-unity 1.3daily13.06.14.1-0ubuntu1 indicator-datetime 12.10.3+13.10.20130725-0ubuntu1 ** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug saucy -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1205562 Title: [background] wallpapers in grid are too small, take long time to load To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1205562/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1154715] Re: Ubuntu GNOME installer shows screenshots which do not apply
Jackson, I consider this bug release-critical for Ubuntu GNOME because from my perspective this bug has a big impact. The slideshow for Ubuntu GNOME was outdated even for 12.10 because nobody started working on it until after User Interface Freeze and I didn't want the installer to only be partially translated (that's why there is no explanatory text). Updating the slideshow wasn't done for 13.04 so we're overdue for fixing it now. [Bug 1205544] [NEW] qapt-deb-installer mishandles ':any' dependency architecture qualifiers
Public bug reported: Here is how to reproduce this bug: * Download http://fgouget.free.fr/bugs/testdep.tar.bz2 This is a small archive that contains a set of test, empty, Debian package files along with their source. (run ./build to rebuild them) * Install the testdep-allowed_1.0-1_amd64.deb package. * Then run: qapt-deb-installer testdep-allowed-any_1.0-1_i386.deb qapt-deb-installer will then refuse to install the package with the following message: Status: Error: Cannot satisfy dependencies Yet testdep-allowed-any has 'testdep-allowed:any' as its sole dependency so the installed amd64 multiarch=allowed testdep-allowed package should satisfy it. Running dpkg confirms this: $ sudo dpkg -i testdep-allowed-any_1.0-1_i386.deb Selecting previously unselected package testdep-allowed-any. (Reading database ... 214863 files and directories currently installed.) Unpacking testdep-allowed-any (from testdep-allowed-any_1.0-1_i386.deb) ... Setting up testdep-allowed-any (1.0-1) ... [Bug 1205513] Re: info-cc-panel-WARNING **: PackageKit version 0.7.6 not supported
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1205513/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.] ** Tags added: bot-comment -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1205513 Title: info-cc-panel-WARNING **: PackageKit version 0.7.6 not supported To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1205513/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
