Fix: Verisign's 2009 ROOT certificate is missing, so download it an install it. 1) Copy the Root CA from Symantec: https://knowledge.verisign.com/support/ssl-certificates- support/index?page=content&id=AR1556 2) Save to a file like verisign2009.crt in "/usr/local/share/ca-certificates/" $ sudo vi /usr/local/share/ca-certificates/verisign2009.crt 3) Update the certificate stor $ sudo update-ca-certificates Now all of the above https site work fine, at least on 12.04. Can't find it in bug reports, but I had a problem with the actual WINDOW size, resizing to the IMAGE. I checked preferences and nothing helped. THEN **ding** checked view menu at the top, sure enough there's a button "fit window to image" ON by DEFAULT. Turned that off and now I'm happy. If the image is too small, you can then easily zoom it, even in full screen mode. I never use slideshow so can't tell you about that. You can also zoom out, but if you have the fit to window option also checked (in preferences this time) it will do that as well. Hope this helps someone with the problem I had. Re: [Bug 1207217] [NEW] Inkscape: Unable to change or select any font
Just tested the same version of Inkscape, 0.48.4, for windows using the same Inkscape .svgz file and everything is working perfectly. I'd surmise its a bug with the way Inkscape's font selection interacts with Ubuntu. Public bug reported: Lacks geoPDF support. GDAL is about the only geoPDF support available on linux and GeoPDF is now a very important source of GIS data as the new nationalmap US Topo maps include elevation dataset image tiles and 1m resolution satellite imagery tiles. [Bug 1211639] [NEW] Login to Evernote no longer works
Public bug reported: Apparently, sometime around mid-January, Evernote switched to using OAuth for its Cloud API [1] and this has broken evernote-mode. Trying to log into Evernote using evernote-mode now produces enh-command-issue: No catch for tag: error, 8 and Evernote::EDAM::Error::EDAMUserException (parameter: consumerKey errorCode: INVALID_AUTH) See in particular issues 24 and 25 on the Google Code page for the related emacs-evenote-mode [2]. It looks like kechako has patched some version of this code (see emacs-evernote-mode-developer-token on github [3]) so that it can authenticate via OAuth with a developer token that can be obtained from Evernote (via [4]). However, the evernote-mode and emacs-evernote-mode code bases seem a bit different and, not knowing the history, I didn't want to mess with them. Yet it did seem that someone familiar with this could fix the problem quickly by adapting the patch or, more ambitiously as suggested by issues 26 and 27 on [2], removing the dependency on Ruby altogether and using elisp instead. Any hope in achieving one or the other? FWIW, I'm using evernote-mode 0.41-3 in GNU Emacs 24.2.1 (i686-pc-linux- gnu, GTK+ Version 3.6.4) on Ubuntu 13.04. Thanks. [Bug 928349] Re: Gthumb forces "fit window" in slide show mode, results in very poor quality slide shows with smaller photos
Finally found "fit image to window" button in "view" dropdown in normal mode. It was driving me crazy that the window kept resizing to whatever it WANTED to. (version 2.14.3) If you view in slideshow, it does make very small images larger. In full screen (maximized) it's not designed to do that but it's pretty easy to go to the top of the screen and hit the zoom button. I was expecting to find this behavior in "preferences" but no it's right there in "view" without opening preferences. I guess I always do things the hard way. [Bug 1211207] [NEW] Keyboard and Mouse stop working after undefined time
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Lately (last week or so), my mouse and keyboard have both stopped working after some time (no fixed amount of time as far as I can tell). The only way I can continue using my computer is shutting the whole thing down and restarting it. To date this has only happened while browsing the internet (although not the same sites). Any help would be greatly appreciated. If more information is needed don't hesitate to ask, but please add detailed how tos as I'm not a computer guru, in any sense of the word. Thanks in advance ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Keyboard and Mouse stop working after undefined time https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1211207 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I am not sure how to do this. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PulseAudio/Log echo autospawn = no >> ~/.pulse/client.conf I had to create ~/.pulse and ~/.pulse killall pulseaudio I cannot even do it. Marking this as Invalid, as you are using an unofficial Linux kernel that is not from the official repository. I am, however, able to reproduce this with linux 3.11.0-1-generic in Saucy, so please see Bug 1211596 for further information. ** Changed in: virtualbox (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1201516 Title: virtualbox-guest-dkms 4.2.10-dfsg-1ubuntu2: virtualbox-guest kernel module failed to build [error: unknown field ‘readdir’ specified in initializer] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/virtualbox/+bug/1201516/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1018933] Re: 1969:1083 NetworkManager does not connect eth0 -- atl1c
Frank Denissen, as per http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/N55SF/#support_Download_8 an update is available for your BIOS (207). If you update to this, does it change anything? If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful.
