[Bug 1213348] Re: Fan too fast on HP 6910p after standby
I considered updating the BIOS but couldn't see the point as this only became a problem after upgrading to Ubuntu 13.04. Previous versions of Ubuntu were fine. Also there is no mention of a problem with the fan coming out of standby on the revision history. >From what I can see, F.19 requires Windows to install it locally so this could be tricky. [Bug 1213566] [NEW] Migrating lxde from ConsoleKit to logind
Public bug reported: I'm using Ubuntu 13.10 dev with lxde-core 0.5.0-4ubuntu4. With this release Ubuntu wants to migrate to logind because ConsoleKit is no longer maintained. But lxde depends on consolekit and systemd-services which means that both processes are running. It would be nice if lxde would migrate from ConsoleKit to logind too and get rid of the consolekit dependency. ** Affects: lxde-common (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1213566 Title: Migrating lxde from ConsoleKit to logind To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxde-common/+bug/1213566/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1074990] Re: Portable Drive Bay 2000 Doesn't work through USB
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected saucy ** Description changed: I got a portable drive bay 2000 in hopes of using it as an external DVD/Zip/LS120 drive through USB, but it appears that Ubuntu can't recognized the drive. With a laptop it works fine through the PCMCIA card, but the USB connection does not work. Through USB it uses a ScanLogic Corp. SL11R-IDE IDE Bridge which is likely the issue, but I've heard that it works fine with CD drives and other removable storage as opposed to multi-partition hard disks. The USB connection works through a Windows VM (Vista and 7) and my Thinkpad is even able to boot from it. I even tried recompiling the kernel as suggested at: http://askubuntu.com/questions/184076/why- doesnt-the-scanlogic-sl11r-ide-usb-to-ata-adapter-work The change does not seem to fix the issue. [Bug 656517] Re: launcher should allow to start several instances of an application
This affects me in not being able to open multiple instances of pd- extended on a netbook. The programs I'm running are very processor intensive and need to take better advantage of the multiple cpu cores. If I run them in a single instance of pure data it's unbelievably laggy, whereas if they were opened separately they should be more functional. If it is possible with a middle click, it's still not practical for me since I have no middle click. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/656517 Title: launcher should allow to start several instances of an application To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/656517/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

ComputerJy, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p linux Also, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Please do not test the daily folder, but the one all the way at the bottom. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. Re: [Bug 806761] Re: Feature Request: Upstart scripts for nslcd
I'd agree that "expect fork" looks like the correct approach, and until the latest release, using that stanza seemed to work without issue. It's true that adding functionality to accommodate a service management system is a poor separation of concerns, but nslcd's generation of a PID file does establish a precedent for doing so, as does other daemons' use of the -n switch. it seems making this sort of compromises is a fairly common practice. Ultimately, though, I'm just trying to follow the path of least resistance to my goal of making it painless to have mobile access to LDAP account information. No custom scripts, no PPAs, no service restarts when I boot up my laptop and have to manually establish a wireless connection in a coffee shop. Right now, adding a -n switch to nslcd seems like the next step forward on that path. [Bug 872398] Re: NFSv4 client doesn't handle NFS4ERR_EXPIRED properly, read() never returns
Adrien Kunysz, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . For example: kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.11-rc5 This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's Status as Confirmed. [Bug 849549] Re: NFSv4 stat(2) incorrect
Scott Duckworth, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . Please let us know your results. Thank you for your understanding. ** Tags removed: filesystem ** Tags added: needs-kernel-logs ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/849549 Title: NFSv4 stat(2) incorrect To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/849549/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
