[Bug 842838] Re: grub-efi-amd64 does not allow system to boot on HP 8200 Ellite CMT
I think the bug is still present in 13.04 as well as in 13.10 beta. I manged to get things working, and found the source of the problem: the search.fs_uuid set in EFI/ubuntu/grub.cfg on the UEFI system partition is not correct, as it does not relate to the root fs. So I had to boot from a rescue disk, open a shell on my target root filesystem, get its UUID with bkid, mount /boot/efi and edit grub.gcf with the right UUID. After that, things worked. I also used dd to clone the ESP on the second disk of the raid to be able to boot in case one of them fails... So I think the bug is when picking the UUID of the root fs when generating the /boot/efi/EFI/ubuntu/grub.cfg file. ** Summary changed: - grub-efi-amd64 does not allow system to boot on HP 8200 Ellite CMT + grub-efi-amd64 picks wrong UUID for root fs when using RAID and LVM -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/842838 Title: grub-efi-amd64 picks wrong UUID for root fs when using RAID and LVM To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/debian-installer/+bug/842838/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1190510] Re: Update lucid, raring, quantal, precise to landscape-client 13.07.3
The lucid debdiff for 13.07.3 ** Summary changed: - Update raring, quantal, precise to landscape-client 13.07.3 + Update lucid, raring, quantal, precise to landscape-client 13.07.3 ** Description changed: - Landscape Client 13.07.1 has been released. We would like to get these + Landscape Client 13.07.3 has been released. We would like to get these changes into raring, quantal, precise and lucid. As far as released version of Ubuntu are concerned, the required pieces of information for the needed SRU follow (as laid out in the Procedure section of https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates). === Statement explaining the impact === This release sports both bug-fixes and new features and we would like to make sure all of our supported customers (even those on raring, quantal, precise and lucid) have access to these improvements. The notable ones are: 1) New annotations exchange mechanism allows clients to send any key-value data to the landscape server (#1123932) 2) Network devices now report their maximum theoretical speeds, and duplex status to landscape-server (#1126330, #1130130) 3) Landscape.client is now HA aware when HA is implemented using juju charms (#1122508) 4) The landscape client will now trigger a reboot if server sends a reboot-required message. (#1133005) 5) Big AMP code cleanup and refactoring in order to improve testing, improve performance and ease future maintainability (#1165047, #1169102, #1170669, #1170669, #1170669, #1170669, #1170669, #1170669, #1170669, #1170669, #1170669) 6) Added logic to detect cloned (virtual) computers (#1161856) 7) The landscape-client and landscape-common packages do not use or depend on dbus code anymore, and some legacy plugins using dbus were removed. (#1175553, #1180691) 8) The ceph manager plugin is now a monitor plugin and thus does not require root privileges anymore. (#1186973) Some packaging-only changes are as follows: 9) Removed legacy upgrader code from postinst since support for it was dropped. 10) French translation patches were removed since the changes were merged upstream. 11) The /etc/dbus-1/system.d/landscape.conf file was moved from the landscape-client package to the landscape-client-ui package. A Replaces rule was therefore added to the landscape-client-ui package. No Breaks rule was added since the -ui package requires the exact same version of the -client package, avoiding the case described in http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/footnotes.html#f53 12) dependencies on Dbus and hal/udev (python-dbus and gudev) are dropped from the landscape-client and landscape-common packages, since the client code does not use dbus at all anymore. The landscape-client-ui package however still does. For more details see the aforementioned bugs (all mentioned in the debian/changelog of the proposed packages). === How the bug has been addressed === We have been following the development procedure laid out in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LandscapeUpdates Furthermore, the testing procedure results can be seen in https://wiki.canonical.com/Landscape/ClientSRUTests/13.07.1?action=recallrev=27 === Patches === Debdiff patches against the currently released landscape version are attached to this bug report, by distribution. === Detailed instructions how to reproduce the bug === N/A === Discussion === All the source packages have been subject to the QA process detailed in the LandscapeUpdates document linked above. ** Patch added: lucid_12.05-0ubuntu0_to_13.07.3-0ubuntu0.debdiff https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/landscape-client/+bug/1190510/+attachment/3868874/+files/lucid_12.05-0ubuntu0_to_13.07.3-0ubuntu0.debdiff -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1190510 Title: Update lucid, raring, quantal, precise to landscape-client 13.07.3 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/landscape-client/+bug/1190510/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 966002]
I had this problem in Lightning 1.9 and now in 2.6. Basically, I see no way of associating an email invitation with a particular calendar. In my case, Thunderbird 24, 2 inbox's and 4 calendars, 3 of which are sync'd with Google. An invitation into my second inbox is stored in my US Holidays calendar (not sync'd with Google). At this time I find the inbound email invitation process so uncontrollable that I can't use it. I need to be able to add an invitation to the calendar of my choosing and decide if a confirmation email should or should not be sent. The session behaviour is described in README.Debian together with reasons and you always have an option to configure the default value in /etc/php5/sapi/php.ini or just configure it back on your local system (and disable the cron script) if you require PHP internal GC session collection to work and don't care about the security implications. ** Changed in: php5 (Ubuntu) Status: Opinion = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1237343 Title: session.gc_maxlifetime ignored by garbage collector To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php5/+bug/1237343/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 690433] Re: procps starts too early to correctly set net.netfilter.nf_conntrack_acct
Could not find a way to edit comments but I'd like to retract comment #14. In my case it was first touching any iptables related stuff in rc.local which seems to be executed later then procps. [Bug 1237392] [NEW] kernels following version 3.8.0-27 do not start
Public bug reported: All kernel updates on ubuntu following kernel 3.8.0-27 result in an empty screen with no indication of startup, no response to the keyboard. I can only start up using kernel version 3.8.0-27-generic. All following numbers (up to and including 3.8.0-31-generic) do not result in a running system. Also, the display no message at all when starting up (after grub). I checked the logfiles with grep -n Linux version 3.8.0- * and found only 27 to be logged, nothing for the other kernels. I am at a loss how to continue. I am running the most recent version of Ubuntu server. Two days ago I reinstalled Ubuntu with essentially the same result. The installation kernel version 3.8.0-19 works fine. The updated kernel 3.8.0-31 does not work. The following is the situation: When I let the machine start on itself I get no output at all. When I manually tell ubuntu to start the most recent kernel, I get 2 lines: Loading Linux-3.8.0-31-generic ... Loading initial ramdisk ... that's it. When I manually start the recovery kernel, I get a lot of information. Finally it drops to a terminal and indicates it could not load the LVM partition /dev/mapper/Server-Root. This is why I never see any result in my message or dmesg on disk. The problem seems to be with the Areca Raid controller. It does a reset of the scsi bus eh until it finally gives up and drops to a terminal. A while after the system goes berserk with messages of non responding scsi bus. As I cannot reach my harddisk, is there a way to find out what is wrong? Why does everything work fine up to and including kernel 27 and starts to malfunction after that? Did the Areca software change in some way? P.S. When I start kernel version 3.8.0-19, everything works fine. [Bug 1227937] Re: lxc-start is unconfined but has a profile defined
As mentioned, this was is on an Ubuntu Touch system and it happens on boot. It is still the case as of today. I don't know much about the container flip on Touch devices, but right now, the apparmor profile is not in effect on these systems. I can confirm this on the Nexus 7 (grouper) and Nexus 4 (mako). Unfortunately, today someone (vila) reported the following denial during a test run: /var/log/syslog: Oct 8 09:16:26 saucy-i386-20131008-0916 dbus[499]: apparmor=DENIED operation=dbus_method_call bus=system path=/org/freedesktop/DBus interface=org.freedesktop.DBus member=Hello mask=send name=org.freedesktop.DBus pid=634 profile=lxc-container-default peer_profile=lxc-container-default info=Permission denied I think this indicates a race condition where lxc somehow won the race and the profile was in effect, but the profile itself is missing needed rules because no one has actually seen/noticed this condition due to this bug. ** Changed in: lxc (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1227937 Title: lxc-start is unconfined but has a profile defined To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/1227937/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1104476] Re: Network manager cannot connect to WPA2/PEAP/MSCHAPv2 network without CA_Certificate
I have a notebook running Xubuntu 13.10. Same problem. I didn't have a system-ca-certs=false entry in my config file, but after go through everything I could think of as well, what I did do was change my wireless security from WPA2 Mixed (TKIP / AES) to straight WPA2 AES. [Bug 1237199] Re: suspend/gpu_lockup_after_suspend: Failed to close window
Rev 2398 introduced a fix for this kind of problem, but what you're seeing here is a case where the fix doesn't work (actually it was wrong from the beginning: if hasattr(GlxWindows[i], id): GlxRotate.append(RotateGlxThread(GlxWindows[i].id, i + 1)) GlxRotate[i].start() Say we try to start two windows, 0 and 1. For some reason, we fail to obtain the id for window 0. So: i=0 GlxWindows[0].id does not exist, we do nothing in the above check. i=1 GlxWindows[1].id exists, so: - We append a RotateGlxThread to GlxRotate (which was empty as window 0 wasn't added), pointing to GlxWindows[1] which does exist. - We try to start rotation on GlxRotate[1] - But notice, this element does NOT exist because window 0 was never added, so window 1 is actually in slot 0. I'll get this fixed right away, thanks for reporting this! ** Changed in: checkbox (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Daniel Manrique (roadmr) ** Changed in: checkbox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = High ** Changed in: checkbox (Ubuntu) Status: New = In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1237199 Title: suspend/gpu_lockup_after_suspend: Failed to close window To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/checkbox/+bug/1237199/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
