[Bug 1244587] [NEW] bcmwl breaks ethernet controller BCM4401
Public bug reported: bcmwl blacklists module b44 in /etc/modprobe/blacklist-bcm43.conf which causes that no driver for ethernet controller broadcom BCM4401 will be loaded. Under Bookmarks you can see the system generated bookmarks such as Download, Desktop, Videos. (When I clicked on one of those just now Nautilus crashed). But there is no way to make a new bookmark, including when you right click on a folder. Make New Bookmark is grayed out. I hope this provides enough detail. [Bug 793450] Re: Calendar applet does not show today's date
Just reproduced this on 13.04. I doubt this was ever fixed. ** Description changed: - Binary package hint: gnome-panel + Ubuntu 11.04 + indicator-datetime 0.3.1-0ubuntu1, Ubuntu 11.10 + indicator-datetime 0.3.94-0ubuntu2, Ubuntu 12.04 + Ubuntu 12.10 + indicator-datetime 12.10.3daily13.03.26-0ubuntu1, Ubuntu 13.04 + Ubuntu 13.10 - The calendar applet (the one visible after clicking the clock) is slow - to update its date field. Only after hiding it once, and showing it - again will it update the date. - - Steps to reproduce: 1) Log in 2) Run a session for a day or two 3) Open the calendar applet by clicking the clock. Although the date in the text field is correct, the graphic calendar still shows the date at which you either originally logged in, or clicked the calendar before. 4) Hide it, and show it once more. The calendar now shows the correct date. The conflicting visual data can be very confusing if you only summon the calendar to find out what day it is. [Bug 1218322] Re: Can't set keyboard layout change to alt+shift, ctrl+shift, etc.
I just upgrade package from -proposed on another machine. This time, I didn't clear any setting before upgrade. The result is when i set the input switching to Alt+Shift, it's shown as Alt+Shift+Next Group and Alt+Shift doesn't change input language. So i cleared key org/gnome/desktop/input-sources/xkb-options in doconf-editor and set the input switching again, it's worked as expected. So, it seems like we only have to clear old settings in dconf, as i'm not clear anything in /etc/default/keyboard. I think it's appropriate task of gnome-settings-daemon. How do you think? P.S. [Bug 1242307] Re: Doesn't report NTP connection problems
Thanks for the report, Audiger. Ubuntu uses the standard NTP http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_Time_Protocol for its time checking. As mentioned both there and in https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuTime#Troubleshooting, NTP uses UDP on port 123. If a public network blocks this port, the public network is misconfigured. That isn't the fault of indicator-datetime at all. [Bug 1244606] [NEW] cron-apt seems to upgrade packages by itself
Public bug reported: On Ubuntu 10.04 used as server, cron-apt seems to trigger package upgrades even if 'unattended-upgrades' is not installed. I encountered several upgrades happened some time after 4:00, which links to the default cron job and random waiting time cron-apt uses before fetching package updates. However, the configuration is not modified by me, and 'unattended- upgrades' is not installed. There are also no settings made by Gnome config tools etc. as they where never installed. [Bug 1244608] [NEW] Incorrect icon in system tray when running VPN over mobile broadband
Public bug reported: In Kubuntu 13.10, using a mobile broadband connection, connected using Network Manager as normal, in the system tray I get a small icon of a mobile phone, as expected. Public bug reported: Since the upgrade of Lightning 2.6.0 to Lightning 2.6.1, this extension need Thunderbird 24.0.1 but Ubuntu only give Thunderbird 24.0.0 https://blog.mozilla.org/calendar/2013/10/dont-upgrade-to-thunderbird-24-0-1-yet/ Update 4: Lightning 2.6.1 is now public. On Linux, it is compatible ONLY with Thunderbird 24.0.1, so go ahead and upgrade now. A lot of people don't use the Ubuntu package for Lightning but those of Mozilla. [Bug 1199877] Re: unity-panel-service memory leak and 100% CPU usage
I upgraded to 13.10 in time of Final Beta release and I observed a much higher use of RAM compared to 13.04. This is very bad to the point that my SWAP which is 4 GB (6 GB of DDR2 RAM) becomes filled sometimes and is always used in more than 2 GB after couple hours. I've noticed that unity-panel-service uses large portions of RAM in one case it was 1 GB but also I'm observing today unity-sope-home using 390 MB. Also running the command mentioned earlier: watch -n 0,5 ps -o rss= `pgrep unity-panel` I see that the value goes up and up and it doesn't stop. Also when looking at terminal opened with this and using the menus of programs and indicators the numbers start to rise up like crazy and they don't go down. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1199877 Title: unity-panel-service memory leak and 100% CPU usage To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-power-consumption/+bug/1199877/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1237733] Re: Kernel hangs on wandboard (freescale imx6)
while it's technically possible to make wandboard work with a saucy kernel, that takes ~40 patches. On the other hand, T already have enough bits to make that board boots and work fine as a server: for theese reasons, i'm marking this as won't fix' in S, and propose it for T. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1237733 Title: Kernel hangs on wandboard (freescale imx6) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1237733/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
