I think I'm having a closely related problem: I can successfully log in, but if I then try to log in on another virtual terminal it hangs (sometimes running sudo commands will also hang). Running 'ps aux' with the working login reveals the following root 617 2.2 0.1 4137736 5424 lxc/tty1 Ss+ 13:41 0:00 /usr/bin/qemu-arm-static /bin/login -- james so it's waiting in a system call. cat /proc/617/syscall then gives 44 0x4 0x7fb26bfcede8 0x61 0x4000 0x0 0x0 0x7fff4d2f6560 0x600f462d but I don't understand that output since Linux doesn't seem to have a system call numbered 44. I've tried this a few times and get the same result except that the 0x7f* parts are different, presumably the process memory layout is different. [Bug 1247148] Re: rndc addzone isn't working. fix available
Charles, I don't have Apparmor on this server. Yes, after changing init script from -d /etc/bind to -d /var/lib/bind Bind is still working, dynamic zones are created and served. It seems NZF files can only be created in Bind's Currently Working Directory. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to bind9 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1247148 Title: rndc addzone isn't working. fix available To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bind9/+bug/1247148/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1249977] [NEW] perl dependency unnecessary
Public bug reported: Hi, lighttpd depends on the full perl package even though a dependency on perl-base/ libpcre3 should be enough for the basic functionality. Furthermore the dependency on init-system-helpers and libterm-readline- perl-perl pull in the full perl package again. This is not a major problem on a desktop or server system but on an embedded system the addional 20megs of perl packages (which are not needed otherwise) are an issue. As far as I can see the dependency on init-system-helpers and libterm- readline-perl-perl can be completely dropped and the dependency on perl can be replaced by libpcre3. Re: [Bug 1208469] Re: No option to disable hostname
Hi Robert, Thanks! In which Ubuntu version will this be implemented? 14.04? We're currently using 12.04. Two more questions. The dir /usr/share will be overwritten with software upgrades right? Is there also a static place to put these settings? For example: /var/lib/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d/? And is there also a way to list all the possible settings? Or are all the settings that are possible also in /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/? But if there is a command to list all settings then I'm all ears. Thank you again.
