[Bug 1008678] Re: missing required tag: section
Trusty has been released and a sudo apt-get upgrade still yields the error message. This thing is really just a couple of lines to fix. The error has been known for months and the simple fix (comment #4, thank you very much) known for weeks. This kind of errors just make the users feel uncertain and give the software a bad reputation. Can't somebody with write access to the repository simply fix it? Alternatively, can't somebody who is responsible for the repository give the author of comment #4 repository write access to fix it? [Bug 1303897] Re: sflphone-kde may hang on startup with some contact topologies
Hello Elv13, or anyone else affected, Accepted sflphone into trusty-proposed. The package will build now and be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sflphone/1.3.0-1ubuntu1.1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository. Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users. If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help us make a better decision. Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Public bug reported: Pasaffe uses the apg utility to generate random passwords. Unfortunately, apg defaults to generating pronounceable passwords instead of random ones, which results in generated passwords not being as strong as they should, and has the numeric placed at the end of it most of the time. This has been corrected by the following upstream commit: http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~mdeslaur/pasaffe/trunk/revision/573 [Test Case] 1- open pasaffe 2- create new entry 3- click the button to generate random passwords Pronounceable passwords look like this, typically with a digit at the end: duhoifed0Ok cagMovtefEk4 NuzHykdieds6 chaiDrunsIf6 Biahickwyek6 GhoysbyPhit2 Truly random passwords should look more like this: YL48AGzXIQ1g ClSLdxI2U1RF g3r5NYBFNFAQ ZZ0HsVHslwNB Xve3zaIF6uNj vJvX9v0RIXYv [Regression potential] This code only touches the password generation code, if it breaks it will no longer generate random passwords. I have even confirmed multiple times that the program was closed. The only way I can reopen the application is with the middle mouse button. I am using Ubuntu 14.04, upgraded from a fresh install of 13.10. I also just recently came across a post by another user having the same problem: http://askubuntu.com/questions/449719/ubuntu-14-04-unity- launcher-problem-after-1st-launch ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 Package: unity 7.2.0+14.04.20140416-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.11.0-19.33-generic 3.11.10.5 Uname: Linux 3.11.0-19-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Fri Apr 18 13:58:30 2014 InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-03-12 (37 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander - Release amd64 (20131016.1) SourcePackage: unity UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to trusty on 2014-04-18 (0 days ago) ** Affects: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug trusty ** Changed in: unity (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1309701 Title: Can't reopen applications from launcher To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1309701/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1309549] Re: weather applet crashes on logout
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a regular (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find. ** Information type changed from Private Security to Public -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1309549 Title: weather applet crashes on logout To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1309549/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
