[Bug 1330956] [NEW] high score tables are always empty
Public bug reported: When freshly installing glines/five-or-more, the high score tables stay empty even when games are completed. Expected behaviour is for newly completed games to appear in the high score table if they have a higher score than the currently lowest-scoring game on the table. The direct cause of this is incorrect permissions on the high score tables; the current five-or-more package installs /var/games/glines.*.scores as 644 root/root, and the correct permissions are 664 root/games (as seen in many other game-related packages). (The 2755 root/games permissions on the executable itself are correct.) The indirect cause is that there's an attempt made to install the high score tables in fresh installs via two different mechanisms; the postinst configure script tries to install them with the correct permissions, but it leaves the files as they currently are if they already exist; the binary package also tries to install them directly during unpack, but with the incorrect permissions. Unpack happens before configure, so first the unpack creates the files with the wrong permissions, and then the unpack leaves them alone. The provided patch fixes this issue via removing the high score files from the binary package, leaving the postinst script in charge of creating them. ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 Package: five-or-more 1:3.8.2-1 [modified: var/games/glines.Small.scores] ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.13.0-29.53-generic 3.13.11.2 Uname: Linux 3.13.0-29-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3.2 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Tue Jun 17 12:23:45 2014 InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-06-03 (13 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Trusty Tahr - Release amd64 (20140417) SourcePackage: five-or-more UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: five-or-more (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug trusty ** Patch added: patch that fixes this bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1330956/+attachment/4133225/+files/fix-high-score-permissions.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1330956 Title: high score tables are always empty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/five-or-more/+bug/1330956/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1324558 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1324558 FYI: for working udev rules... This shouldn't be handled by ofono, and the tech specifics should also be handled by the client side, not ofono. [Bug 1250607] Re: No way to cancel an update once you start
So the real problem is that resuming a download either doesn't, or seems like it doesn't, check for a newer version and download that instead? If the problem is that it really doesn't, that's a bug in the code. If the problem is that it doesn't seem to, that's fixed by the current design where there is never a Resume button. [Bug 1329297] Re: openssl CVE-2014-0224 fix broke tls_session_secret_cb and EAP-FAST
I agree with this not being an independent security issue. There is a (mostly theoretical) potential security impact based on how applications or users react to the case where session ticket unexpectedly cannot be used. That could, at least in theory, result in trying the authentication handshake again with reduced security (e.g., EAP-FAST anonymous provisioning) even when there would be a valid session ticket still available. I don't think this would really result in practical security issues, i.e., the impact is in previously working functionality not working anymore and connections not being established. That said, it is useful to get this regression addressed in a way that makes it more likely for devices to get the update since the regression was caused by a high priority security fix that was likely applied to most devices immediately. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1329297 Title: openssl CVE-2014-0224 fix broke tls_session_secret_cb and EAP-FAST To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssl/+bug/1329297/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1330960] [NEW] [REGRESSION 14.04] keyboard configuration systematically wrong after every boot
Public bug reported: I have a spanish keyboard correctly configured as a spanish keyboard. It's the only keyboard configuration I have. On the upper right corner of the screen there's an indicator that reads Es, and if I click it, Spanish is the only option and it is selected. All this is as expected. This applies to both the laptop's built-in keyboard and an external usb keyboard that I always keep connected (together with an external screen) when my laptop is at home on my desktop. SINCE THE UPGRATE TO 14.04, every time I boot, both keyboards start behaving as if they were US english keyboards. If I click on the Es indicator mentioned above, where Spanish already appears as selected, and I re-select it, it fixes the issue. Also, for the external keyboard, another workaround that works is to unplug and replug the keyboard. After that, the keyboard works as expected as a Spanish keyboard. Please don't tell me to update the bios, because this worked before on the same machine until recently. It broke with some update, most probably with the upgrade from 13.10 to 14.04. P.S. I ran ubuntu-bug keyboard-configuration, I don't know why console-setup got selected instead. I'm not sure what package the issue belongs to, anyway. [Bug 1330222] Re: All paper options are unavailable when printing to pdf
I'm not sure this is a bug. I get the same sort of behaviour in Inkscape with all my other printers. Inkscape has a File-Document Properties menu where you can set paper size options. Inkscape is a bit special here, since it represents the printed page in the drawing area, and so manipulating these options would cause the WYSIWYG-ness of its interface to break. The problem is that mod-mono-server4.exe in /usr/lib/mono/4.5/ is compiled against .NET 4.5 and the mod_mono config points to the .NET 4.0 libraries. The version mismatch causes the problem. A better fix than just pointing to the 4.5 runtime would be to have a mod-mono-server4.exe in /usr/lib/mono/4.0 that is compiled against the 4.0 runtime, for thos of us who still have 4.0 applications to run. It reproducibly does not work on my system, and it would really be helpful to get it fixed. My last post simply pointed out that the work around you describe does not work for those affected by the bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1301776 Title: Update manager is really small and not resizeable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1301776/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1329945] Re: WWAN signal strength is reported lower than android in same location
I also agree with Ricardo, ofono standardizes on the percentage that's used across all technologies. This is one of the downsides of having two abstraction layers ( RIL ofono ). So fixing this in the ofono layer requires us to either break the API ( ie. use different semantics for strength reporting ) or add our own technology specific strength properties. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1329945 Title: WWAN signal strength is reported lower than android in same location To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-network/+bug/1329945/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1329945] Re: WWAN signal strength is reported lower than android in same location
IMHO indicator-network should not accommodate for a specific technology, but instead the abstraction should be done as close to the HW as possible and therefore the natural place for that would be inside ofono modem driver. Ofono is the abstractor of different modem HW and that abstraction also has to take care of dealing with modems reporting their signal strengths in arbitrary ways. Right now the only way of getting the signal strength from ofono API is the Strength property and that has been specified to be a percentage from 0 to 100 and indeed it's up to the particular modem driver to provide mapping of that percentage. We have 5 different signal strength icons available so from indicator- network POV we split the percentage to 5 even ranges independently of specific modem technology: = 80% - 4 bars = 60% - 3 bars = 40% - 2 bars = 20% - 1 bar 20% - 0 bars ** Branch linked: lp:~rsalveti/indicator-network/change-signal-strength- thresholds-android -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1329945 Title: WWAN signal strength is reported lower than android in same location To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-network/+bug/1329945/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
