Squid 3.2.1 I have tracked this down to the way hash keys are generated and retrieved for requests with vary header. If you go to the squid source code file src/store_key_md5.cc (around line 100): const cache_key * storeKeyPublicByRequestMethod(HttpRequest * request, const HttpRequestMethod method) { static cache_key digest[SQUID_MD5_DIGEST_LENGTH]; unsigned char m = (unsigned char) method.id(); const char *url = urlCanonical(request); SquidMD5_CTX M; SquidMD5Init(M); SquidMD5Update(M, m, sizeof(m)); SquidMD5Update(M, (unsigned char *) url, strlen(url)); if (request-vary_headers) SquidMD5Update(M, (unsigned char *) request-vary_headers, strlen(request-vary_headers)); SquidMD5Final(digest, M); return digest; } you can see that MD5-based keys are generated based on request method id, request URL, and request vary header. The problem seems to be that when hash keys are generated during retrieval, the vary header field is empty and therefore although the resource is cached it cannot be retrieved because of the incorrect hash key. If you comment out two lines from above as follows: //if (request-vary_headers) //SquidMD5Update(M, (unsigned char *) request-vary_headers, strlen(request-vary_headers)); and recompile squid you will see that such resources get served from cache indicating that the culprit is the vary header. The part of the code that seems to be generating the hash keys for retrieval is inside src/store.cc (around line 625): StoreEntry * storeGetPublicByRequestMethod(HttpRequest * req, const HttpRequestMethod method) { return

I could not reproduce what this exactly was caused by, but reverting to 3.2.0-64-generic solved the problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1337281 Title: network problems after update to kernel 3.2.0-65 - thunderbird/imap/dovecot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1337281/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1009312] Re: 10de:0426 GPU loads unreliably, possible kernel timeout
It's been a while, but I've found the time to dig much deeper into this and familiarize myself with the kernel code some. Actually, I feel comfortable with the idea of directly contacting the appropriate mailing list now so this is more to keep the record up-to-date than a request for more triage. Anyways, after just walking through the kernel code, I first realized that the first sign of the bug (the 30ms gap) was occurring somewhere within the function pci_scan_child_bus (in drivers/pci/probe.c), between when it invokes the function pci_scan_slot (also in drivers/pci/probe.c) and the function pcibios_fixup_bus (in my case, under arch/x86/pci/common.c) From there, I began adding dev_info statements around function calls that would be executed in between, then looked between whichever 2 messages the gap occurred between to further narrow down the problem. After a few rounds of this, I found the delay consistently appearing within the function pcie_aspm_configure_common_clock (in drivers/pci/pcie/aspm.c) After a little research about what the PCIe common clock is about, it actually explains several aspects of this bug. Booting the computer from battery power would influence the power state of the device, which is what ASPM is all about. And it turns out the discrepancy of 24ms between a good boot and a bad boot is precisely the length of time the PCIe standard defines as a timeout for link training. Unfortunately, I don't know how, or even if, the two commits I found earlier directly tie into this. It seems there's a really weird race condition or resource fight going on. I'm not exactly sure how to fix the problem clearly either because just adding the overhead of dev_info statements to the function makes the bug go away (so I can technically fix the bug, but that's just a total hack). The one other little cliue I found was that the delay went away completely when I put dev_info statements in every possible branch of the function's logic. When I only added dev_info to the ifs corresponding to a problem though, a slight delay appeared (bumping the total time in the function to around 10ms), but still not enough for link training to timeout (so my GPU always loaded). I plan on mailing the list for the PCI subsystem of the kernel soon, but I'm stumped about how exactly to proceed so if you have any debugging suggestions, I'd be happy to hear them. Thanks again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1009312 Title: 10de:0426 GPU loads unreliably, possible kernel timeout To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1009312/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 943940] Re: Can't generate a new key if the .gnupg dir is a link to a dir in another partition
There are probably several methods to make this work. One is described here: http://support.gpgtools.org/kb/faq/networked-home-broken. Or your can use a configuration option either on the command line or via gpg.conf to set up the location of the secret keyring and store that on the encrypted partition. Also using --homedir or exporting GNUPGHOME with the location to the .gnupg directory should work. I'm therefor closing this report. [Bug 1337749] [NEW] High CPU usage after resizing a window
Public bug reported: Background: Symptoms are 50-120% CPU usage when scrolling (especially Firefox), dragging around a window, resizing windows, basically any 2D graphics rendering on the desktop. This happens both in fglrx and the open source radeon driver. I started my debugging process by changing various settings, restarting, running top in a terminal, launching a Nautilus window, and quickly dragging it around with the mouse in circles while watching the CPU usage rise to around 50%. Resizing the window makes it jump to 100%+. Xorg and compiz are the culprits, with the CPU usage being split around 50/50 between them. Reproducing the issue: After a lot of searching I found some tips in the Arch Wiki article for the open source radeon driver, and I put together the following xorg.conf: Section Module Load dri2 Load glamoregl EndSection Section Device Identifier Radeon 6670 Driver radeon Option MigrationHeuristic greedy Option AccelMethod glamor EndSection After applying these settings, launching Nautilus and dragging it around only resulted in about 4% CPU usage each for xorg and compiz. Then, resizing the window (click and hold a side, and just keep moving the mouse left and right) made Xorg jump to 70% and compiz 50%. After that, when I start dragging the window around, CPU usage is back to around what it was originally: About 25% for compiz and 15% for Xorg. This exact behaviour happens after each reboot: The CPU usage is initially low when dragging the window around, but resizing it somehow messes things up and it never goes back to normal after that. I'm using a Radeon 6670 right now. I'll be receiving an R7 260X in about a week or so, so I won't be able to test with the exact same hardware, but I'm expecting at least similar behaviour since I also swapped in an R7 250 and was having the same issues. [Bug 984088] Re: Upon resuming from suspend messages appear in tty
This (or something very much like it) still occurs in relation to failing resume from suspend on my Dell T7600. watchdog complaint is echoed to tty and resume fails. This is on an up to date Ubuntu 12.04, and has affected the last few kernels (a few months I think, but haven't kept the old ones so can't easily test when it was introduced) :~$ uname -a Linux 3.2.0-65-generic #98-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jun 11 20:27:07 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux currently trying the mei blackist workaround, will feedback here. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/984088 Title: Upon resuming from suspend messages appear in tty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/984088/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
