[Bug 1377318] Re: Fresh install utopic beta updated got blank screen on boot
jerrylamos, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. As per http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers an update to your BIOS is available (3.16). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report. For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Once the BIOS is updated, then please mark this report Status Confirmed. [Bug 1168224] Re: 045e:0745 [HP TouchSmart tm2t-2200] No scancode for several keys of Microsoft Comfort Desktop 5000
Christopher, Thank you for timely response. The best practice you refer to in comment #48 seems to apply to "regression"s. I don't know precisely what "regression" refers to in this context, but I assumed it meant something along the "a bug that was introduced after not existing in a previous commit". According to this assumed definition, I didn't think this was a regression. That fact, combined with the ubiquitous warnings about "negative unintended consequences," made me decide against emailing anyone else. Since the warning about such consequences still seems salient, I must ask: Is this in fact a "regression"? [Bug 1374989] Re: When saving in 14.10 msgfmt: error while opening "" for reading: No such file or directory
After some struggling with creating a bootable USB stick (ran into bug #1325801) I did a real install of 14.10. Could still not reproduce the saving problem. OTOH I encountered another problem: Some keys, e.g. å ä ö and backspace did not work, so poedit is still useless to me on a fresh 14.10 install. The fact that it works for me on a not-so-fresh (but updated) 14.10 may indicate that the poedit package misses some dependencies. [Bug 1375995] Re: [HP Compaq dc7800 Small Form Factor PC] suspend/resume failure
I have this problem since I have this PC (2011-12-03), i.e. I always have to hibernate before I can suspend to RAM with all Ubuntu releases since 11.10. I also tried the procedure described in DebuggingKernelSuspend in the past and tried to remove various kernel modules but without success. I have now followed the procedure described in DebuggingKernelSuspend and attached the wakeup and dmesg.txt files. After trying to resume from suspend, the LEDs and the noise from the DVD-RW are the same as with a successful resume. However, the display stays dark and I cannot connect to the system over the network (ping or SSH). The magic number in dmesg is [2.088671] Magic number: 2:310:476 but there is no "hash matches" line. ** Attachment added: "cat /proc/acpi/wakeup > wakeup before suspend to RAM" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1375995/+attachment/4224381/+files/wakeup -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1375995 Title: [HP Compaq dc7800 Small Form Factor PC] suspend/resume failure To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1375995/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Artemgy, given the scope of this report is suspend, we can say it would be fixed if it suspend works everytime. [Bug 1367628] Re: [Lenovo B490s] hdapsd failed with "Could not find a suitable interface" on 12.04.5
That's strange. Have you run all commands with sudo? My ThinkPad X201s exports two joystick devices: "ThinkPad HDAPS joystick emulation" and "ThinkPad HDAPS accelerometer data". I tested my code with both of them, and they seem fine. Calling "sudo lsinput" does properly list them, and calling "sudo jstest /dev/input/jsX" produces working output too. I would guess that as soon the joystick device actually works using jstest, hdapsd will pick it up just fine too. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1367628 Title: [Lenovo B490s] hdapsd failed with "Could not find a suitable interface" on 12.04.5 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/hdapsd/+bug/1367628/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Currently, wine1.7 from the Wine project PPA depends on libopencl1 and libopencl-1.1-1. I use the nvidia drivers for gaming and the cuda toolkit for some GPU computations, which creates a nasty dependency conflict every time I want to upgrade wine1.7 (which I need for the few games I have that is Windows-only). [Bug 1377388] [NEW] ubuntu-emulator requires root
Public bug reported: I don't know why ubuntu-emulator currently has to be run as root, but that requirement is enough to keep me from using it. Sure would be nice if an unprivileged user could use it, just as they can virtualbox, kvm, and qemu. ** Affects: goget-ubuntu-touch (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1377388 Title: ubuntu-emulator requires root To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/goget-ubuntu-touch/+bug/1377388/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
