[Bug 1379777] Re: Allow applications to specify the orientations supported
A hint in the desktop file may be sufficient. Nope, it needs to be a surface property. Apps need to be able to dynamically change their orientation preference. What's more, as discussed before, some apps will still want to rotate themselves (like camera, probably some games). The panel still needs to change position in that case, and we may say we only support this if app is fullscreen. All in all, I believe this needs design exploration. ** Also affects: ubuntu-ux Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1379777 Title: Allow applications to specify the orientations supported To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/qtmir/+bug/1379777/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1124250] Re: Partially incorrect uid mapping with nfs4/idmapd/ldap-auth
I am not entirely sure if this is 100%ly related to this bug, but let me tell you my story here (contains another workaround): I was also experiencing the problem of frequently having my files owned by 4294967294. Setup is Ubuntu 14.04 with automounted nfs4/kerberos homes, the NFS server is running Debian Wheezy. The problem was not existing with the previously used Ubuntu 13.10, so I began investigating and tried almost everything I found (which is mostly documented here), ranging from setting sysctl values to installing the kernel patch posted here. However, nothing did help, so I decided to debug via /proc/keys: While I still had the problem, /proc/keys (as seen by root) showed keys like this: 0094f999 I--Q--- 1 15s 3b01 0 0 id_legacy uid:user@fqdn: 5 Note worthing is the remaining time of 15 seconds, shortly thereafter the problem occured for me and /proc/keys looked like this: 0094f999 I--Q--- 1 expd 3b01 0 0 id_legacy uid:user@fqdn: 5 The key was expired and there was no new one in the list. So I issued nfsidmap -v -c (which did repair the situation everytime I have tried) and voilà: 5482b3a I--Q--- 1 9m 3b01 0 0 id_legacy uid:user@fqdn: 5 I had a fresh key with a lifetime of ~ 10 minutes. But listen up, now comes the final workaround which has fixed the problem for about 3 or 4 days now: # apt-get install keyutils # restart idmapd # nfsidmap -v -c And now the keys do no longer expire: 2014218e I--Q--- 1 perm 3b01 0 0 id_resolv uid:user@fqdn: 5 As already mentioned, this is working since several days now without any issues, my stress-test to check this is by the way: somedir$ for i in $(seq 10); do touch $i;sleep 0.2;done somedir$ while (true); do ls -lR | grep 4294967294;done I still do not know exactly why installing keyutils has solved the issue or why this package was not previously installed as a dependency, but hey, it is a workaround at least for me and maybe others. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1124250 Title: Partially incorrect uid mapping with nfs4/idmapd/ldap-auth To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1124250/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1378245] Re: citrain could use a more accurate way to upgrade from silos
This is actually reverting back to the previous behavior we had which had the potential of upgrading packages out of silo. Sure you get the dependencies, but the added load of other packages can come in too. Using main only is not an option as we also have dependencies in universe, the fact that it worked without upgrading unwanted packages might of been just a coincidence with the time of testing (e.g.; just after a new image came out of the oven so all packages were up to date) The best solution here is to have people state they have new deps and taking care of them prior to running the tool. This is not ideal and I can see this working without any intervention from the user and without disabling any sources if instead of running dist-upgrade you do the following: - iterate over each binary package in the silo - if it's not part of the current install list, discard; else add to the install_list - look at the dependencies, add to the install_list - apt install install_list -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1378245 Title: citrain could use a more accurate way to upgrade from silos To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/phablet-tools/+bug/1378245/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1068756] Re: IPv6 Privacy Extensions enabled on Ubuntu Server by default
ok. so some updates. Ben fixed this in the cloud image build process via [1] (commit [2]), and limited the change to utopic+. The fix was done by adding a file /etc/sysctl.d/99-cloudimg-ipv6.conf The problem with this change is described in bug 1352255 and bug 994931. If ipv6 addresses are already configured, then setting the 'net.ipv6.conf.all.use_tempaddr' will remove the configured addresses. So to actually fix this right, I suggest that the build proces: * dpkg-divert /etc/sysctl.d/10-ipv6-privacy.conf to /etc/sysctl.d/10-ipv6-privacy.conf.disabled * add a file /etc/sysctl.d/10-ipv6-privacy.conf.README that explains that and how the user could re-enable it (un-dpkg-divert it). -- [1] http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-on-ec2/vmbuilder/automated-ec2-builds/view/head:/live-config/common/hooks/060-ipv6.chroot [2] http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-on-ec2/vmbuilder/automated-ec2-builds/revision/646 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1068756 Title: IPv6 Privacy Extensions enabled on Ubuntu Server by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cloud-init/+bug/1068756/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
